Mission: Pulling Together
Location: Holodeck
Timeline: Shore Leave - Before the explosions

"A flower?", Alex raised an eyebrow, trying to hold back her laughter, "You stepped on a flower?" She was relieved it was nothing actually serious, and found the whole situation immensely funny in a weird way, but apparently the crowd below thought otherwise. "They're very sensitive, you know.", she whispered to Lita quietly with a smile, "It must be their inferiority complex."

"Hey there, calm down, all of you!", Alex then spoke to the crowd, but apparently without any effect. They just got even louder and more upset. Then, suddenly, rescue came in form of a black sports car rolling into the street, and a handsome-looking late-thirties guy in a casual but elegant attire hopping out of it, seizing up the situation. The man looked up at Alex with a witty smile, apparently not much afraid of her, despite being the size of a toy soldier compared to the two women. "Go home, people! Nothing to see here! It was an accident!", he then shouted to the crowd, like a sergeant giving directions to his platoon, "Everything will be taken care of! Please, leave!"

"Oh, hi, Nick!", Alex waved to the newcomer, "Just the usual. Always in time."

"Hi, Alex!", the tiny man then waved, looking up to the towering doctor, "How's your goin'? Long time no see." He then looked at the other giant, an attractive blonde he'd never seen before. "Who's your friend?", he asked, "A truly attractive lady. And definitely larger than life. If you excuse me the pun." The man then walked a few steps away, now standing at Lita's feet, apparently not bothered by the fact that she was the size of an office building compared to him. "Glad to meet you, ma'am.", he smiled.

Lita couldn't help a glowing smile. She looked down at the small man, keenly aware now of the danger her slightest movements posed. "Pleased to meet you, Nick. My name's Lita," she said. Her eyes flicked to the angry mob. "I'm really sorry about the flowers. I feel just horrible. Is there anything I can do to make it up to them?"

"Maybe you could do some social work for the benefit of the city, like crushing a few politicians or something.", the man said with a sarcastic and charming smile, "But if I were them, I could never hold a grudge against such a pretty face.", he added, then looked at the mob, now much more quiet, but still in need of taming.

"I've met Nick when I first came to town.", the doctor explained to Lita, "He's sort of a special agent. When the gigantic creature known as me, first appeared on their horizon, he was the one assigned to investigate the colossal monster's intentions.", she said, "Since then, we've grown quite fond of each other.", she added with a smile.

"But you never said you're friends with such a beautiful lady.", the tiny man said, looking up to Lita, apparently not at all afraid or bothered by the two women's gigantic stature.

Lita couldn't help but giggle now. "Well, thank you," she said. "Though somehow I doubt I'm the very first giant you've ever said that to." She looked pointedly over to Alex.

"I can't help that you giants are all so charming.", the man said with a mischevious smile, never losing his balance and style. "Care to give me a lift?", he then turned to Alexandra. The doctor nodded 'yes' with a smile, and crouched down, putting her opened hand down to the ground, so the 3-inch tall man could climb inside it. Checking if he was safe and comfortable standing in her palm, Alex stood up, holding the guy in front of her and Lita. "The air is definately pure and fresh up here.", Nick joked, "And finally I can see face-to-face with you ladies."

Lita laughed, the situation almost too much to handle. "So, Nick, exactly what has your investigation into the giants revealed? What conclusions have you drawn?"

"Aside from you being so charming?", the tiny man asked, turning to the blonde giant, "Truth to be told, my employers are not truly happy. They were expecting you to turn the town into dust, my dear.", she then glanced back to Alexandra, "They hoped such a crisis would shake things up, so they could set up martial law and proclaim themselves the absolute rulers. But pssst! This is not public."

"You can expect our utmost confidence. As always.", the doctor whispered to the miniature guy with a girlish smile, "We're not interested in politics. We only came for some sight seeing."

"Oh, I don't know," Lita said, "crushing the town actually sounds like a lot fun! It's not so often I get to be so tall. Shame to let it go to waste!" She held up both her hands to Alex in mock defense. "I'm kidding! I'm kidding!" Though she did give Nick a knowing wink.

Alex couldn't help but laugh as she looked at Lita. "Well, now you can proudly say you're the second tallest person in town.", she told her tongue-in-cheek.

"You're certainly don't look small to me...", Nick added, while keeping his balance standing in Alex's hand.

Williams put a hand over her heart. "Oh, Nick. I do think you may very well be the man of my dreams," she teased. "I don't suppose you have any giant potion on you? Or maybe a nice shrinking potion for me?"

"We'll see what we can do about that...", Alex looked at her colleague with a half-serious giggle. "Anyways, if our angry mob has winded down, how about some actual sight seeing?", she suggested, crouching down and lowering her hand so the man could get back to the ground. "I need to show my fellow giant around town.", she smirked at Nick, "How about meeting at the pond an hour from now?"

Lita looked back at the mob. She frowned slightly. "I'm not sure they've given up so much as they've yet to find anyone among them brave enough to lead the charge." She shrugged. "Works for me! Where to first?"

"A few miles... well, a few steps... north...", Alex corrected herself with a quirky grin, "We can find the business district, then, there's a nice parkland area not so far from there.", she explained, "It's quite a beautiful town. Even if it's no so big.", she smirked, looking down to Nick, then back to her colleague, "But first, I think you should change your footwear."

Lita craned her head back to the skies. "Computer, I need a pair of walking sandals. Fashionable would be nice. Something that matches what I'm wearing."

After a chirp of acknowledgement a rather modest pair of leather sandals materialized at her feet. Williams shrugged, carefully kneeling down to change her foot wear. She left the discarded hiking boots sitting in a nearby wood. "Perhaps they'll become a national monument someday?"

"Excellent.", Alex giggled, as she watched Lita placing her boots in a nearby wooden area. "Who knows, they might improve their cityscape somewhat."

"There was an old woman who lived in a shoe," Lita recited, remembering the old nursery rhyme. She could half imagine that exact scenario playing out in this program. She smiled, breathing deep as she slapped her hands against her thighs. "Ready. Lead the way!"

"Alright.", Alex smiled, and started off in the direction she remembered the city pond to be, carefully walking between the tall buildings. "It would be fun to take a guy here for a date.", she suggested with a mischievous smile, "Although Nick might feel a bit jealous."

Lita smiled ruefully. "Oh, I doubt he'd care much about the love life of a giant."

"These poor people. They already have quite a time with visiting giants.", Alex said with a giggle, "Imagine if they had to deal with giant couples checking in."

Lita laughed. "Oh, there's not much worry about me bringing any love interests in here. All's quiet on that front." She blushed, then. "Sorry, I guess that was probably a little too much information."

"Hey, don't worry.", Alex replied, as she avoided crushing a car parked nearby, "I'm a good listener. Besides, my 'front' is just as quiet."

"I've heard Starships tend to be a fantastic place to fix those kinds of problems. Whether you're looking to have that happen or not!"

"Oh, you just don't know how true that is!", she replied with a nostalgic grin. Afterall, she's met her ex-husband on a starship.

OFF.
