ON
Gink showed his Ferengi heritage with the ear piercing shreak that followed the explosion as he was pushed to the ground, he managed to keep hold of his precious equipment; it would be a travisty to loose all his work as he had just detected a signal before the explosion.
The first signs of a scan were bein g fed into his device; as usual he had his proble active so the initial explision was detected and scanned while Gink felt a Hu-Mon using him as a landing spot; knocking the wind out of him and pinning him to the ground. The extreme weight of the Security people is good in a fight, bad if you happened to be where they land in this kind of situation.
"O-k-a-y Wil-son." Gink strained to breathe as the shockwave of heat was replaced by the settling dust. "You can get off of me now." HE strained to pronounce the words aqs the Security man was staying put even if the probe recorded no secondary explosions. "Hey you hearty muscled Hue-Mon, I am not able to breathe here."
"Give me a minute," Sam said. She'd been knocked back by the explosion, but was protected somewhat by what had been a statue to Surak. She slowly got to her feet and dusted off her uniform before going to check on Gink and the security officer. One quick check confirmed that Wilson was dead. She rolled him off the Ferengi. "Mr. Wilson saved your life at the cost of his own."
Gink looked at The Commanding Officer and then to Wilson. "H-he was trying to teach me Football to 'man me up." Gink said sorrowful. Hueons -Mons are strange with bantering..." He knelt beside the man. "You were a fine Hue-Mon Mr. Wilson, I will pay the Ferryman to give you a luxury ride..."
"I think Charon would like that," Sam said. Once she was sure Gink was okay, she went in search of Jayna.
She found her partially under the statue. Sam checked her pulse and then tapped her combadge. "York to Calypso. Emergency transport of Lieutenant Mira to sickbay."
"Acknowledged."
Jayna dematerialized a moment later.
Gink was on his feet with his probe out, joggging along in an area that would be a corridor for a signal, since it had detonated there would be the residual of the transmission picked up by his probe a nano second before the explosion. THe Probe had given the frequency of the burst transmission, it was simple but now he had a fix on where it came from, the same place the first one had, same angle of signel path.
"Up there!" Gink pointed. "TWo three Sero meters evelvation makes the top of that building's roof." He pulled out what looked like a type one 'Cricket' phaser and pointed it, the phaser beam was little more than light but it would flow all the way to where Gink had pointed. "There!"
Sam visually marked the location, then scanned it with her tricorder. "Great. Let's go see what's up there."
"I-I'll stay here and keep it painted then follow you when you are at he location Ma'am" Gink suggested, it could be dangerous up there.
**SICKBAY**
"You," Rhiannon pointed to a Corpsman. "Prepare a bed! And someone page Doctor Alves and Doctor Williams!"
Predictably, Jayna materialized on the deck instead of in a bed Rhiannon had prepared. Rhiannon turned around, found Jayna, and went to her. She took out her tricorder and began a preliminary scan as a pair of Corpsmen rushed over to help. Several broken bones and other injuries. Rhiannon cursed again.
"Get a anti-grav board under her and transfer her to that biobed over there!" Rhiannon ordered. "Lieutenant, if you can hear me, you're in Sickbay now and we're going to help you."
The two corpsmen ran off and retrieved an anti-grav board. Returning, they slid the board under Jayna and then transferred her to the biobed as ordered. Rhiannon activated the pain suppression field and began to the process of getting Jayna stabilized.
"Does anyone know how she was injured?" Rhiannon asked. "Anyone spoken to the Away Team?"
"I just got off the comms with them, Ma'am," a Corpsman replied. "There was another explosion. A statue fell on her."
"Lovely," Rhiannon replied. "Where in the name of the Prime Number are our doctors?? Alright, let's look at these scans. Okay, she's got three fractured ribs, but by some miracle, not of them are compound so her lungs are safe. We'll use the bone knitter on those in a moment. Fractures to the legs...we'll set those and use the bone knitters to put them to rights. Left arm...same procedure...alright, let's start with the easy part, the ribs."
By this time, the corpsmen had cut all of Jayna's clothes off and covered her with a sheet. Rhiannon activated the anesthetic field and took the bone knitter that one of the corpsmen handed her. Another corpsman pulled back the sheet enough so that Rhiannon could get to the broken rib on Jayna's right side. Using the sensor images to guide her, Rhiannon knit the rib back together again. That done, the sheet was lowered on the right and raised on the left as Rhiannon crossed to the other side of the bio bed and used the bone knitter again. No doctor had arrived yet, so Rhiannon made the command decision to set and knit the fractured left arm. The corpsmen set the arm and held it in place as Rhiannon, again guided by sensor images, knit the broken bones together. Now the legs...
The legs were more complicated. Rhiannon decided to give the doctors another chance to respond to her calls.
"Page Doctor Alves and Doctor Williams again," she said. "But if they don't get here soon, we're going to have to deal with the legs ourselves."
