"You were not reanimated," Arnon said. "But you are currently animated, so I deduce that you were never 'de-animated'! So, reports of your death were largely exaggerated! Well, welcome back to the land of those were are reasonably certain are alive! I hope your journey in the land of people we were almost certainly positive for the most part were dead was pleasant!"

"You are correct Doctor my death was fabricated." She replied not at all minding his humor although not showing it.
"Well it's good to finally meet you," Arnon replied. "I'll chase you down after the holiday and we'll have a talk."
Yui turned up a few minutes later. She was wearing a red dress which ran down to her knee's and had white cotton trimming. She was also wearing a red santa's hat and had ribbon in her hair.
"Yui, I'm glad you made it," Sam said. "Welcome."
"Lieutenant," one of the Engineers for the fighter wing said smiling. "Commodore," the man said with a slight bow. "My boss sends his regards but finds it would be impossible to be here without being able to be in two places at once. Neither of you know how one would do that do you?"
T'Pral's eyebrow rose. "Methods such as temporal manipulation or cloning aside, perhaps a holographic representation is in order, given we are in the holodeck."
The Engineer looked at T'Pral a little exasperated. "Not what I meant Ma'am. And I doubt a hologram of Leroy Mangalia would be acceptable, unless anyone knows how to program my boss into the computer."
The Vulcan remained annoyingly calm, "Quite convincing holographic simulations can be created based on personnel files, logs, and internal tracking. The computer can program itself."
Carlos and Rhiannon walked into the party together. They didn't really know too many people yet. Both Kara and Jae told Carlos they'd see him at the party. Things had been really too busy for Rhiannon to have a sit down with her boss...who happened to be her father's girlfriend (and that wasn't going to be awkward at all) so she was hoping to see Doctor Drani tonight. They walked over to the commodore to make their manners.
"Happy Christmas, Commodore," she said. "We haven't met yet. I'm now your head nurse, Lieutenant Rhiannon O'Connor-Barak. Your goofy chief counselor is my father, and this ugly marine is my little brother."
"And thankfully we've inherited our father's utter lack of shame or I'd be really embarrassed to have my big sister treat me like I'm five in front of a Commodore," Carlos said. "Lieutenant Carlos Rodriguez-Barak, at your service. Happy Christmas, ma'am."
Sam laughed cheerfully. "A pleasure to meet you both. And don't worry about the comments. This is a party and strictly off the record."
Victoria and her sister, Jae walked into the holodeck. Victoria wore a silver form fitting strapless floor-length dress. While Jae wore a red A-line one-shoulder floor-length dress. Victoria still moved a little slow as her side was still sore from her injury on Jenefar. Neither had celebrated Christmas but it was a festive time for many humans that seemed to bring out the better and kinder parts of humanity. "Hello Commodore," Victoria greeted. "This is my sister, Jae, who flies with the ship's fighter department."
"Hello, doctor. How are you feeling?" Sam asked.
"I am a bit sore, but it takes more than a arrow to the lungs to keep me down," Victoria smiled.
Then, turning to Jae, Sam continued. "A pleasure to meet you. How do you like the Calypso so far?"
"It's a big ship, ma'am and it's been a challenge fitting in so far but I look forward to serving aboard."
Arnon leaned in and kissed Victoria on the cheek.
"You look lovely, my dear," he said. "And this must be your little sister Jae! You, my dear also look lovely!"
Victoria smiled at him. "Thank you. You look quite handsome yourself, and yes this is my sister, Jae."
Arnon kissed Jae on the cheek as well.
"May I introduce my son Carlos and my daughter Rhiannon?" Arnon said. "Carlos, this is my lovely lady Doctor Victoria Drani. You already met her, Rhiannon, though not under the best of circumstances!"
"I already know Jae," Carlos said. He kissed Jae's hand. "Dad's right, you do look lovely. As do you Doctor Drani."
Rhiannon embraced Victoria and kissed her on the cheek, then did the same with Jae.
"My father has told me a lot about you, Doctor," she said. "All good, of course. And it's very nice to meet you Jae."
"Well, for his sake, it had better be good," Victoria joked with a wink.
"You have nothing to fear," Arnon said. "I am a firm believer in self-preservation."
As the group moved farther into the room, Sam turned to greet the next arrivals.
Arnon offered Victoria his arm.
"Care to join me, my love?" he said.
Carlos offered his arm to Jae.
"Is your dance card full, or is there a space for me?" he said.
Rhiannon chuckled at her little brother's attempt to be charming. Being charming came natural to her father. Carlos still had to work at it. She sighed. She'd have to track down some unsuspecting man and force them to dance with her.
The doors parted to the echo of heels on the deck as Spartacus entered the gala. She wore a tailored Red ; off the shoulders with white fluffy trim, that went to her slender wist where the wide black belt with silver buckle accented het heritage before teh skirt flaired out half way to her knee with the same white trim. The bare legs in black ankle boots with silver tensil trimm. The star crystal snowflake pendant from a short silver chain that matched the smaller ear rings of the same design topped with the traditional red cone hat with white trimmings draled loosely over her left ear. The smile on her face as she walk with her hands in the white muff completed the ensemble.
The smile brightened as she made her way along the floor to her friend York. "Merry Christmas Samantha." Spartacus brought out a small package wrapped the size of a jewelery box and hand it to her friend.
"Why, thank you!" Sam said taking the package. She carefully opened it and smiled when she saw the small silver snowflake on a chain. "It's beautiful." She gave Teenah a hug. "That's very thoughtful of you."
"I tried to live up to the old Earth Saying while choosing what you might like?" Spartacus smiled. "It is the thought that counts, so I am glad I got it right." She winked. "It is unique as well the artisan who made it assured me that he does only individual pieces. SO it is like a real snowflake, unique."
"That's a wonderful idea," Sam said. "Everyone has a unique snowflake." She gave Teenah a hug. "I have presents for everyone when they leave, so don't forget to pick up yours."
[Later]
The party was over. Everyone had been given a present from under the tree as they left. Catering was cleaning up the leftover food. Some would go to the lounge, the rest would be recycled. What crew remained were making their way back to their quarters. There was only one thing left for Sam to do.
"Computer, turn off all the lights except for those over the food, the fireplace, and the Christmas tree."
As the lights lowered, she turned to where Damon still stood at the edge of the room. "May I have this dance, Mr. Raine?" she asked.
A slow waltz began to play as the two danced the last dance together.
