[OLD]

Oops. Arnon decided to engage in a little diplomacy.

"Not to worry, Your Majesty," he said. "She won't be mobily terminating anyone. We use mobile terminals when we need more processing power than is offered in our handheld devices. A mobile terminal can more effectively interact with our ship's computer from the planet surface and gives us greater access to information."

[NEW]

"Your highness, this will allow me access to the ship's resources without leaving the planet. I can run scans, analyze evidence and data so we can return your daughter quickly." Jennifer chimed in.

"I'd rather that be done from the ship, where we have the resources," Sam said. "And can run the scans. Your job will be to work with the Jenefrans, not analyze data."

Sam smiled at the King. "I mean no offense, your highness. We are here to assist in your investigation, not take it over."

"We appreciate your help in that reagard." Keenan said. "I was hoping you might see the problem in having your bringing a lot of equipment and such might raised questions and as I said we do not want the populous to know the Princess has been abducted." He continued to explain. "Your technology is helpful but to have it seem as though an outsider would be taking the lead might not project well upon our resources. If you wish to help with ground search it can be done like tours and thus keep a lower profile in the eyes of the population; at least until the extent of the problem is fully realized?"

Jennifer was not thrilled with the answer but she did well to hide it. A mobile console was only mere inches larger then a PADD which she could hide in a satchel. Her work could easily be done in the background as it usually was. If she was not analyzing data she really wasn't of any use. Interaction with people was best left to a HUMINT specialist or someone with similar training, training she lacked. In essence York had relegated her to a task a mere ensign could fulfill, or a task best left to a diplomat. More and more she felt a rift forming and she being pushed away. For the moment, she would remain silent in her thoughts unless directly addressed.

Sam looked at Jennifer and sighed. The intel officer was not very good at hiding what she thought from a Betazoid. However, this was neither the time nor the place to talk about it. Jennifer didn't understand that the job of liaising with the King and his counsel required not only tact and diplomacy, but someone who was liked by the Jenefrans and would stand up for them. It was yet another thing that Jennifer didn't understand.

She turned to the King, "Is there anything else you need help with?"

"Find Kali and bring her home. There is nothing of import beyond that."

"We'll do our best," Sam assured him. She looked at Keelan. "Is there anything else you need from us?"

"Captain?" Damion said as he looked over to Sam and cleared his throat slightly before speaking allowed. "The Horus. With the proper information, and flight clearance, they can run a sweep of the planet and get a much more detailed scan for her."

Remy's eyes widened, hearing his name and his property being recruited for something he didn't volunteer for. "The hell it can." He said loudly.

Damion looked over to the short Intel Chief, shooting him a stern look. "Remy!" He said under his breath.

"Excuse me your...umm... fanciness." Remy said before getting out of his seat and walked quickly over to the Captain. "Captain? As much as it pleases me to be assigned a job I never offered to do, the Horus is considered highly advanced and technologically... umm.. complicated for the Jenefrans to understand." He quickly looked up and smirked as he said loudly. "No offense. It has nothing to do with you being a cat. I happen to own one. A very big one." Remy added a short laughed before looking back to Sam and continuing softly. "Captain, the technology on board is considered highly secretive and sensitive. Calibrating it to a Jenefran may throw everything out of sorts." He paused slightly, looking away before looking back to Sam. "May I offer another suggestion? A much more subtle one. One they may actually appreciate."

Sam had been pondering the ways she could use the Horus to find Kali. While the Jenefrans would not be using the ship or its technology, she wasn't going to argue with her Chief of Intelligence over the matter. "What would that be?"

"Well." Remy said softly as he eased in a bit closer. "I'll give you a hit. He's tall, muscular, and although he looks like a big grumpy cat he is more like a brooding kitten at heart."

"Yes, I believe Mr. Logan would be a very good choice to aid the Jenefrans," Sam said.

"Yes" Remy replied sarcastically. "Because he also is a giant cat." He shook his head before adding softly. "Please don't lead me to believe you are privately a speciest, Captain." Before she had a chance to retort, he quickly added. "Aside from being a walking, talking, ball of Fur he is an excellent tracker. He could find a snowman in a blizzard. Why you would want to? I have no idea. However, I would approach him with it gently. He can be a bit... sensitive about the whole thing. Seeing as how you're the Captain, should he say no there is always the option of ordering him, to which, he would be obligated to do it. Just avoid using the terms slaughter, maim, gut, flambe, skewer, decapitate, annihilate, and ventilate. I know what you're thinking. "Why not flambe?" To be honest. I don't ask. He don't tell. But like I said before. A simple order will change all that."

Sam raised an eyebrow. She would have to talk with her Chief of Intelligence later about his lack of decorum. "I will not order him, Mr. Batiste. If he does not wish to help us, then I will doubtless find another Intel officer to do the job. I said he would be perfect because I know his abilities, not because he is Caitian."
