Zaphod stood behind the bar, staring at the holographic viewscreen that comprised the floor of Milliways. He still couldn't fathom what was going on with the computer. Instead of the usual image of a galaxy being sucked into a black hole, it was the gaping maw of some multi-fanged creature devouring screaming humanoids as they fell off a sandy cliff. It was quite disturbing. He'd tried to shut it down, but nothing worked, not even shutting off the power. When he tried it, the creature screamed in anger and activated the program again.
In frustration, he pulled out a rug and covered the creature. "Bar's closed, people."
Jae Drani had made her way from the fighter bay to the lounge during her downtime. She still hadn't got a chance to get assigned quarters, visit her big sis in sickbay whom she sensed was busy at the moment and therefore, still wore her flight suit just as she heard that the bar was closed. "Closed? May I ask why?" she asked, approaching the bartender.
Zaphod looked at her. "Because people come in here expecting to see the end of the universe, not some creature from an old horror movie," he said. "I've reported the problem, but my restaurant is low on the list of priorities."
Leroy stumbled in, still half asleep, before looking down at the floor. "Thank the gods, I was getting tired of that scene," he said before seating himself at the bar. "Water, Bacon, Sausage and steak omelet with hash browns in and on the side, with an order of biscuits and gravy Zaphod."
Jae sat down next to Leroy. "Well, if he's ordering, I'm ordering," she protested. "Got any pancakes? Maybe Belgian Waffles?" She hadn't eaten real food in over a day and her mouth savored the taste of a Belgian waffle.
Zaphod shrugged. Business was business and he wasn't going to turn away customers. "I guess we're still open," he said. "I'll bring your orders out in a minute." With a nod, he headed back into the kitchen.
"Guess I should thank you for not shooting me down, but tell me something," she asked Leroy. "Why did you allow me to get so close to the Calypso before intercepting me? Had I been a hostile, I would have had a free shot at the ship"
The muffled but rapid clacking of heels was heard before the doors opened as Spartacus came sliding through the doors in her skirted uniform that was not as pressed as it had been in her past times, the jacket open and frayed or torn along the edge with several runs in her black tights and her hair slightly disheveled and two butterfly swords in her hands
"Seal Door..." She barked the command to the door. "I went to order my Dragon Broach and it did not hear... Broach!" She called out to the computer then looked around. "
Zaphod brought out the food and set it down before the two and then looked up at Teenah with one head in curiosity while the other tended to business.
Jae turned and took in the woman in her distressed uniform. "Dragon broach?"
"I have a Dragon Broach that I favor..." Spartacus said as she shook her head as saw the creature and people. "What I got was a Dragon that decided I was dinner."
Jae thought the woman was joking but sensed that she wasn't. Dragons weren't real--just a mythical Terran creature. She never quite understood human fascination with such creatures.
The holo creature began to get more agitated, making more noise from the floor. Jae turned and looked at the increasing noise. "Um, I think I'll get my food to go," Jae replied.
Zaphod pulled out a large, wicked-looking blaster from behind the bar. "Good idea. You can even forego the tip." One head smiled wickedly while the other just sighed. "I think I'm going to need some remodeling when I'm finished here."
Jae grinned as she grabbed the food set in front of her and tossed Zaphod two credits. "I never forego a tip," she winked before turning.
As she headed for the door, the floor seemed to erupt beneath her, sending her flying into a nearby table. She looked up to see the holo-creature emit a massive roar.
Zaphod grabbed the tip and aimed at the floor, shooting once to send the creature back into the floor -- at least for now.
====Down the corridor from the Lounge====
Chief Petty Officer Markos Ileos had located Ensign Teena Spartacus by locating her commbadge. He was down the corridor when he heard a terrifying roar. He immediately tapped his commbadge and started running towards the Lounge, Type II Phaser drawn. He'd grabbed it from a safe under his desk when the trouble started. He kept it there in case one of the counseling patients became violent.
"Ensign Spartacus!" he said. "It's me, Chief Ileos! What's your status?"
====Back in the Lounge====
=^=Ensign Spartacus!=^= he said. =^=It's me, Chief Ileos! What's your status?=^=
=^= Busy!...=^= Spartacus launched herself at the side of the Dragon's head; she figured to knock it aside from the attack vector of teh creature and away from the woman, she also did not feel anything crack but she would have a bruise in the morning at this rate. =^= You could bring a lance... maybe a few knights might help as well.=^= She grunted as the head did move aside but she fell to the deck hard, rolled as she heard the tearing of her skirt and it was not at a seam.. =^= Now you Die!=^= She stuck a ButterFly blade into the eye...
