=^=Ensign Spartacus!=^= he said. =^=It's me, Chief Ileos! What's your status?=^=

=^= Busy!...=^= Spartacus launched herself at the side of the Dragon's head; she figured to knock it aside from the attack vector of teh creature and away from the woman, she also did not feel anything crack but she would have a bruise in the morning at this rate. =^= You could bring a lance... maybe a few knights might help as well.=^= She grunted as the head did move aside but she fell to the deck hard, rolled as she heard the tearing of her skirt and it was not at a seam.. =^= Now you Die!=^= She stuck a ButterFly blade into the eye...

Markos entered the Lounge and saw why Spartacus, and her companions, were busy. One of the companions was a marine looked a lot like Victoria Drani, but younger. A sister? Markos filed that away for future reference and focused on the matter at hand. Firing a phaser at a hologram was not likely to do any good. The computer would just compensate. So, how to disable the hologram then? Markos thought for a moment and then snapped his fingers. He pulled out a tricorder and began to scan the room. When he found what he was looking for he aimed his phaser at it and press the trigger. A narrow beam lanced out and the primary overhead holoprojection hub blew up in an impressive explosion, causing bits of debris to fall from the ceiling. The dragon now found that it could not maintain its form unless it stayed away from that projector. Marcus began to scan for other nodes to destroy, hoping to destabilize the hologram. He began to move about the room taking aim at and shooting various nodes.

Jae pushed herself up slowly. Her elbow and hip pounded with pain. "That's gonna leave a mark," she grunted, turning her head and watching two crew members deal with the dragon. "I swear I've been transferred to the ship of the damned," she mumbled, getting to her feet.

The holographic projection of a dragon was losing cohesion. It blinking in and out as the emitters projecting it failed. Markos kept shooting, then suddenly stopped, dropped, and rolled when the dragon's tail, which had blinked out, suddenly blinked back in and nearly took his head off. He rolled to a stop next to the attractive young marine who looked a little like Victoria Drani.

"Hi," he said. "Chief Markos Ileos."

Jae nodded. "1st Lieutenant Jae Drani."

"Maybe ... Phasers ... are ... not ... useless..." Spartacus said as the Butterfly blades went into her boots ; similar to how the Shaolin preiests used them at their first conception of the weapons while she gain her breath. "I-am going to- head to that -computer core and shut off Holograms." Spartacus walked slowly to the other two. and sat down folding her legs under her left side with lady like grace. "I might have to actually learn how to use those things?" She pointed at the Phaser. "Though I still think they are vulgar things as a whole."

"Hang on a moment, ma'am," Markos said, standing up. He consulted his tricorder, then took aim at three different targets, one after the other, firing as he came to bear on them. There was an energy surge during which sparks flew, causing a bit of smoke to appear. When all the sparking and arcing energy had dissipated and the smoke had cleared, the dragon was no where to be found. Markos had successfully crashed the holoemitter network in the lounge.

"That should be the last of the holograms to manifest in here for a while," he said. "At least until Engineering and Operations get holoemmitter network in here back on line. Everyone ok?"

Markos smiled down at Jae Drani, who was still on the floor. He held out his hand.

"Let me help you up, Lieutenant," he said.

Jae took the Chief's hand as she stood up. "Thank you, Chief. I'm beginning to regret getting assigned to this ship," she joked.

"Nah," said Chief Ileos. "This kind of thing is what Starfleet is all about."

The holoemitters in the lounge proper were offline, but the floor had its own holonetwork to keep up with the complex demands of Milliways. The creature in the floor jumped five feet into the air and roared.

Zaphod pulled a small device from behind the bar and tossed it into the creature's maw. It dropped back into the floor and there was a muffled explosion and sparks of electrical energy. "They can add a new floor to the list of repairs."

"Counselor Spartacus." She offered a handshake. "This really is a fun ship; my first hour on oard I ended up inan Arena battle with the Captain after being transported off the ship." She chuckled a little. "Holo emitters I can deal with." She turned to the chief. "So what, or who, sent you looking for me Chief?"

"Doctor Barak was concerned about you," Markos replied. "Actually, it's more likely that he got caught up helping out in Sick Bay and Doctor Drani reminded him to look out for us."

Shaking Spartacus' hand, Jae chuckled. "Sounds like my big sister alright. Always keeping others on track."

Markos chuckled.

"You have no idea, Lieutenant," he said. "But you'll find out."

Zaphod had gone back into the kitchen after shooting the floor and returned with two bottles of scotch. "I think, under the circumstances, the drinks are on the house."

Markos bellied up to the bar.

"Make mine a double," he said. "Rescuing commissioned officers is thirsty work."
