Mission: Of Gods and Men

[CONTINUED]

[OLD]

Remy walked away and moved over to the two way mirror where Logan and Jayna stood on the other side. "It's too late, Wolfe. She is blinded by her Stockholm. Li has been under for so long that all she see's is duty to Morat. She doesn't care about her family. All she care's about is service to Morat."

Li Just glared at Remy.

"Do you want to prove me wrong?" Remy said as he turned around, being able to feel the glare from Li with actually requiring to see it. "Then help us! Letting your family rot without justice is a very clear sign you have no feelings for them! You're just going to allow Morat to whip you into an obedient dog!"

"That's enough, Lieutenant." Damion said firmly as he looked over to Remy with a stern look. He took a deep breath and turned back to face Li. "So far you've shown no remorse for any of the people you have killed. You've also tried to kill yourself and feel that there is no other alternative but death at this point. Clearly, Morat has some kind of power over you. Your family, Li, did nothing to deserve this." He said as he tapped on the PADD in front of her. "They were innocent bystanders. They deserve justice and, by helping us, you can reduce your sentence. Possibly even be sent to a facility that will keep you safe. There are places that even the Federation doesn't know exists, Li. Facilities that are dedicated to keeping people safe in events like this. We can arrange to have you sent to one of these places, but you need to help us. Give us something we can use. Provide your family with justice and closer. You don't need to be the monster here. You are not her."

"There is no justice for Morat or for me," Li said. "It's too late for that. It won't bring my family back."

"This is getting us no where." Remy said coldly as he tapped on the mirror. "Mister Logan. Your turn."

Damion looked over to Remy and raised a brow. "What the hell do you think you are doing?"

"Sending in the big guns, Mister Wolfe. I suggest you not be here for this." Remy replied as he walked over to the table. "Either one of two things is about to happen. She will either talk, or we will grant her wish of death."

"Batiste, this is not going to happen." Damion said firmly as he stood up.

"We've tried it your way!" Remy yelled back as he looked at Damion coldly. "Now, we try a different approach. She doesn't want to talk. I'll make her talk."

Logan looked over to Jayna. "Umm... What the hell is going on?"

"No idea," she said, not liking this turn of events. "Time to intervene -- and probably end up in the brig."

She got up and went into the interrogation room. "I think we should send her to Max. She's clearly not going to talk. You're both telepaths, you should know that already. Her family is dead, she thinks she has nothing to live for. Give her some time to think things over and realize she really does have another option."

"She is not going to take time to think things over, she is going to sit there and await an opportunity to end he damn life!" Remy shouted back.

Logan walked into the room slowly, standing behind Jayna for a bit before crossing his arms over his chest and looking toward Li. He didn't look at her in an intimidating fashion, nor was he looking at her with sympathy. He was just... looking. Curiously. Logan didn't understand what made her do what she wanted to do. What made her want to follow Morat blindly and still defend her even after knowing her family was gone.

"Mister Wolfe. Miss Mira. Your services are no longer required. Please vacate the room. Mister Logan and I shall continue from here." Remy said, noticing Logan was now in the room. He walked over to the table and removed the PADD in front of Li Kara and walked back to the corner of the room. "Mister Logan. If you please."

Logan looked over to Remy, and even though he knew it was wrong, he still nodded his head. "Jay. Leave." He said softly as he stepped around her and walked over to the table where Li sat.

She looked at him for a long moment. She didn't want to leave, but she knew staying would not help, either. She nodded to Logan, ignored Remy, and walked out.

Damion quickly placed his hand on Logan's arm. "Logan. You're a civilian. You do this than your no better than any of the people that work for Morat. I am legally bound to arrest you for assault and battery. Don't do this. You know it's wrong."

Logan looked down to Damion and narrowed his eyes slightly. A soft growl began in his throat and stopped as he began to speak. "Get your hand off me. Neither you, or the brig, scare me." He pulled his arm away and looked back to Li. As he slowly approached the table he cracked his knuckles slightly before placing his large hands onto the sides of the table. Logan leaned slowly downward toward Li and spoke softly. Calmly. "Are you sure you won't help us? Morat killed your family. Lied to you. Used you to do her bidding just so she wouldn't have to. Ending your life, for her, will only prove she has won. Are you sure that this is the path you've chosen?"

"If I say anything, more innocent people will die, don't you realize that? Morat has spies everywhere," Li replied, trying to get them to understand why she would not help them.

Logan growled loudly as he gripped onto one side of the table and flung it to the side, slamming it against the wall. His claws quickly retracted as he narrowed his eyes and looked down at Li as if ready to strike. "And those lives would be on your head. Is there no way to change your mind?"

"No, so you might as well kill me now," Li said.
