Mission: Of Gods and Men
ON
The Lanora-Class Caesiulium entered the Gekkaro system in orbit around Gekkaro VI so as not to be spotted by the sensors of the Federation fighters. Long range sensors had detected the presence of a Galaxy-Class starship which had disappeared ten hours ago. The fighters remained in the system and this made Commander Warek curious.
"Is their any sign of the Federation vessel?" Warek asked his officer stationed at the Tactical console.
"None in the sector," answered the tactical officer. "It is most peculiar that the fighters were left behind."
"Which planet have they been focused on?" Warek asked the tactical officer.
"They are based on the fifth planet," the officer replied. "But there are inhabitants on the fourth planet. The fighters occasionally patrol that planet, along with the sector as a whole."
"Are their any Federation personnel on the fourth planet?" Warek asked wondering if the Federation had tried to initiate contact with the civilization.

Leroy had taken over patrol after a small nap, as he hit the apex of his patrol, he cut the engines and killed everything that wasn't needed. Keeping his scanners on a passive scan, he started looking towards the planet where the Captain was. As he looked away he noticed a small glint of light against metal, but when he looked back there was nothing.
-^-Bojay, did you notice anything while you were up here?-^- he asked the man he had sent back to the planet.
=^= Negative Boss. =^= Bojay replied. =^= Though I was on minimal power and passive scans only. =^=
Alarms began to sound in the three fighters on the ground. Phoenix ran to hers and climbed up the side and into the cockpit. "A Romulan Scout, boss," she said over the comm.
Leroy declined to reply as he saw the thing at last, and he boosted the power in the fighter. "Scramble, if they come up for a fight I want someone to at least survive.'
Phoenix ran back to grab her bag, then hopped into her bird and began the launch sequence.
Leroy checked over his equipment, then sent out a message to the Romulan scout. "Unknown Romulan Scout, please Identify. This is Leroy Mangalia of the USS Calypso. What are your intentions?" Keeping his hand next to his shields, he waited, hoping he wasn't going to have to for long.
"What are YOUR intentions?" came the response.
"Oh you know," Leroy said sarcastically before he could stop himself. "It's nice out here this time of year. Now answer the question, if there's one thing I hate, it's people who dodge honest questions."
"Are you not doing the same, Starfleet? You are clearly not in your own sector, this is not your planet, and you are clearly hiding something from us. We are here to find out what that something is."
Warek looked up to his tactical officer. "Scan the planet, find the Federation personnel. Perhaps they will be more willing to talk."
The officer began to scan the sector. "Fourth planet, interspersed with the natives."
"Can you get a lock on any of them?" the commander asked.
"You know," Leroy said opening the channel again. "I'm not really hiding anything from you. My squadron and I are enjoying a nice little picnic planet side waiting for the call from my Commander. And seeing how this isn't your sector of space, and as far as I know we're not anywhere near the neutral zone, this could be construed as an act of war. Now I'm sure neither one of us," Leroy continued as he quickly started tapping out Old Morse Code to his pilots, telling them to get ready to attack if it came to it. "Really wants or could afford a war. Now why don't we see why you're here, and maybe an exchange of information on the planet behind me, commander to commander, could be done?"
Phoenix launched and kept low, circling around the planet just above the surface until she was at the far side so that she could get into orbit without the Romulan ship sensing her. She'd be ready to make a surprise appearance if needed.
Bojay had not really had the time to get much out of the fighter, he threw the sleeping bag into the storage and tossed the micro meal before he bound up into his fighter. "I was looking forward to something hot after my rotation." He had teh fighter warming up as the hatch closed.
Wedge favored the flight chair; his feet hit the deck and seat snapped into place while the sequence for launch finalized and he lifted off the ground as he had practiced so many times in the past.
Bojay was right on the vapor trails of his wingman in teh scrambling of the fighters.
"We were mapping nebula when we noticed a federation presence in the system. Considering there was once a galaxy class starship in the system and now there is not. We came to assist." Warek sneered as he spoke to the Federation fighter pilot.
Assist. Right. Phoenix heard the chatter over the comm system and had no doubt the assistance would be to take what they wanted and leave the pilots stranded on the planet. Not if she could help it.
She came around the planet just in time to see the Romulan ship turn tail and run away. Right after that, her computer announced that the Calypso had just entered the system. "And here comes the cavalry," she announced cheerfully. "Let's go home."
