Samantha carefully made her way out of the cave and back to the main entrance where she knocked on the door.

An Acolyte opened it and looked at her in surprise. "Frenatus is not seeing anyone at this time. Perhaps tomorrow."

"Could you please tell him that Samantha York of the Federation Starship Calypso seeks an audience with him?"

His eyes opened in surprise. "Please wait," he said, closing the door.

"We're apparently intruding on his 'plotting the Away Team's doom' time," said Arnon.

Sam chuckled. "I hope not. If so, this ploy won't work very well."

[Village]

Kara and Cameron had spent a good hour walking around with nothing to show for it. Until they turned a corner and Kara sensed animosity and fear.

She turned to Cam. "I think we found something."

She walked in their direction and began to talk to Cam. "It's gotten so much worse since he got here..."

Cam watched Kara curiously, he knew she had a sence for things he couldn't see or feel so he was letting her take the lead, "how can you tell? I mean, I'm not much of a historian, but it looks pretty average to me"

"Not to look at, but the way the people feel. I think it's just because we're getting more familiar with the village and the creature that calls himself a god."

The group of men stopped and turned to look at Kara and Cam. "Talk like that will get you arrested -- or worse," one of them said.

"Well, you haven't called the guards, so I assume I'm not the only one," she replied quietly.

Another man looked around nervously. "You're not from here."

"No, I'm from beyond the mountains," she said.

"Come with us," the third man said after a moment, leading Kara and Cam through the market to a tavern on the far side from the temple.

Keeping an eye on them, Cam stuck as close to Kara as he could. He really didn't like this whole situation. He didn't say anything, but he kept his eyes on everyone

"I'm glad you've got my tail on this," Kara told Cam telepathically. "If this goes South, we'll have to fight out way out. But if they're sincere, we'll have the information the Commodore wanted."

[Holding Room]

Spartacus sat up from the pillow she was using to relax; her meditation and just absorbing the naturally flowing Emotional projections all around her and relaxing , using the 'noise' like listening to the computer playing soothing music or an audio book. The voices were just molding together as the auras flow like a river all around her. What brought her out of her trance was a familiar aura amid the flow; close enough to be sensed and call like a voice louder than those around Spartacus, that aura is unmistakable and close.

* Samantha... you are not in the Village are you? * Spartacus projected to Samantha. * You are a little closer than I expected, what is going on? * Like her natural voice the images that were the language among telepaths showed her concren in her projections as though she were speaking vocally to Samantha.

"I'm throwing a Hail Mary," Sam replied, sending an image of an American Football Quarterback throwing a long pass down field.

* Should I stay in the Locker Room then? * Spartacus replied.

"Might be a good idea, just in case I need to drop back ten yards and punt," Sam replied.

* Then you could call me for an Offensive Line. * Spartacus sat back on her pillow to meditated and be more aware of the auras around her.

"Ok guys, I have to break the moment here." Jenkins said having been silent for the entire trek. "Does anyone else think it's a bad idea to request a one on one meeting with the lizard that shoots laser beams at Starships and possibly shoots lightning out of his fingertips. Cause I mean honestly I think we're gonna need more then a hail mary, or a football team for this galvanizing gecko."

"Not laser beams," Sam replied. "An electrical gestault, augmented by some sort of generator."

"So...a lightning bolt?" He asked not at all soothed by the explanation given. Truth be told he didn't know what she was talking about.

"The reason the Calypso is not here right now," Sam said.

The door opened and the Acolyte addressed Sam. "He will see you now."

Sam nodded and walked in as he opened the door further. He let her in, then held up his hand to the others. "Wait here," he said and closed the door.

"Should we be worried?" Jenkins said looking to Arnon. "What if tries to barbecue the Commodore? Mmmm speaking of which I could sure go for some barbecue." He rubbed his stomach as he began to salivate over the thoughts of steak and ribs.

Arnon looked at Jenkins and blinked twice.

"Have you been here the whole time?" he said. "I hadn't noticed. Oh well. As for barbecuing the Commodore...well...Frenatus' species is apparently reptilian in nature. He'd be more likely to enjoy Samantha Tartare than Jed's Down Home Sweet and Tangy Samantha."

"Have YOU ever met a lizard person? Maybe he does like down home cooking versus au natural. He nearly barbecued the ship, perhaps that was so he could feed his little lizardlings as well." Jenkins commented.

Arnon looked askance at Jenkins.

"I'll have you know I've met several Gorn over the last one hundred and twenty years thank you very much," Arnon said. Then he shuddered. "I've seen them eat. They definitely lean towards the "So Rare it's Raw' category."

"That's disgusting!" Jenkins replied bunching his face in disgust. "Wait, so if we hear the Commodore screaming should we run in incase he's trying to eat her?"

Arnon scratched his chin and looked lost in thought for a moment.

"Here's the plan," he said, finally. "If we hear her scream, we force the door open. I'll throw my baguette at Frenatus and while he's distracted, you tackle him. Meanwhile, I'll extract the Commodore. If the lizard man doesn't eat you, we'll meet back at the in!"
