Mission: Of Gods and Men
Location: Tate's Quarters

ON

Mira Jayna was one of the first to arrive at Jennifer's quarters. She pulled out her tricorder with a holorecorder and began to scan the room for anything and everything. It would give them a base to go back to later for reference and right now, it might give her clues as to who had been here.

Lauren Dormer entered next, a forensics investigator whom could help the team to identify any evidence they found within the Commander's quarters. She placed her kit on the floor near the entrance to the room and began to prepare the necessary equipment for the investigation.

When Jayna finished her scan, she checked the results. "Computer, who else was in this room?"

"Unidentified female beamed in from Deck 17."

"Where did she go?" Jayna asked the computer.

"Unknown."

Jayna tapped her combadge. "Mira to Logan. We have an unidentified female beam into Commander Tate's quarters and assault her. The computer has no information on who she is or where she went. Can you find her?"

"I can find anything but a needle in a haystack, Kitten. If there was a site to site, I can track it from lingering sensor data. Not everyone on the ship is using a site to site so it narrows it down pretty significantly." Logan paused for a moment. "Wait? This isn't a private call, is it? Damn. I shouldn't have called you Kitten."

Jayna chuckled. "It's okay. I could use a cheerful voice right now."

Damion finally walked into the quarters, Kela and two other security officers behind him. "Why are you at my crime scene?" He said with a stern voice as he walked in further and looked around. "I dont know you." He said as he looked over to Lauren and pointed slightly in her direction. "Who the hell are you and why haven't I seen you before?"

"I'm just here to do my job sir." Lauren replied to Damion as she continued her work.

"Hey, Intel was called into this, too," Jayna replied. "So try playing nice. Crime took place on the bed. Room temperature has been lowered seven degrees and someone came in via site-to-site transport from Deck 17. No idea where she went. Logan is looking into it."

"Wonderful." Damion said with shrugg. "The cat's in his cradle searching for the silver spoon." He paused a bit as he looked to Kela. "Too much?"

Kela just shook her head with a smirk.

Damion walked over to the bedroom and looks around, trying to see if anything seemed out of place before finally focusing on the bed. "Why lower the temperature? Was it so she would notice or was it for our attacker?" He said softly as he looked over to Jayna. "Any theories from Intel or do you want to use your Cat Lifeline?"

"At least I have one," she countered. "We've had several attacks by a woman named Gul Morat. This was either her, or one of her minions. We've caught two of her spies, but there are more on the ship. Logan will find the woman, then we can question her jointly." She paused and considered Damion before adding, "I think Jethro Vance knows more than he's telling us and Max might be the one to get him to talk. Right now, we need to find Morat and put her away for the rest of her life. Preferably somewhere she will be alone and miserable."

"When you have the time, stop by the Science Department. You'll find mine there." Damion replied quickly as he crossed his arms over his chest before looking over to Jayna. "Just because I don't feel the need to remind people over and over again, doesn't mean it's not there. But maybe, I wasn't raised by a bunch of animals. And the Maquis." He looked over to Jayna and shrugged slightly. "You can choose whichever one applies to you."

"I didn't know Lieutenant Lancaster was a cat. She hides it well," Jayna taunted.

"I can still hear you." Logan replied from Jayna's combadge in a very sarcastic tone. "It's sounding like I need to go down there and punch somebody in the face. I know I am not a Security Chief so my powers of observation may be a little off. But it's sounding like I need to punch somebody in the face."

Damion smirked slightly as he looked back to the bed and continued. "I would respond to you, Logan, but it would only look like I was talking to your girlfriends chest and that's entirely inappropriate. And you're wrong, Jayna. Max is dangerously too close to this. Jethro and he were partners. That makes them almost family. Max would never push Jethro's buttons. We need to do it because we have no loyalty to him. Position or not, he is an informant and must be treated as such. Do you or your chest disagree?"

Jayna wondered if Damion spent time talking to Ronnie's chest. "Partners?" Jayna said, surprised at that bit of news. "So do we call Vance in and ask him to flush out Morat? Or why she's been so busy since his arrival?"

"Do we even know he isn't involved?" Damion replied quickly, almost under his own breath. "What was she doing before the attack? Tate? Was she sleeping or awake? Did she feel the cold before or after? Computer: Approximate time of temperature shift in the room?"

"Time was approximately 2015 hours."

"From what I've seen, he would never attack Tate or allow anyone else to do so," Jayna replied. "He treats her like a daughter."

"You know about what happened to his actual daughter, right?" Damion replied quickly, almost coldly. "Computer: Approximate time of attack?"

"Attack was at 2020 hours," the computer replied.

"Yes, I do," Jayna said. "And I know there's evidence that the accident was a fake."

"5 minutes." Damion replied softly. "Hey Fluffy. Any way either of those times might have been altered to effect our investigation?"

"Fluffy?!" Logan said surprisingly from the combadge. "Am I supposed to be Fluffy? Dude, you better be referring to me as Fluffy or I am going to definitely go down there and punch you in the face." There was a slight paused on the other end before Logan replied again. "No. there was definitely 5 minutes from the time it was changed to the time she was attacked."
