Mission: Of Gods and Men
Timeline: Before arriving at Gekkaro

ON:

Jennifer left the conference room having taken notes for the Chief Intelligence Officer at the request of Admiral Hunter. Jethro assured her Max and Remy were two great officers and worthy of her trust. With PADD in hand she made her way to his quarters where she was told he spent a great deal of his time. She had heard stories of the man from Jethro and Hunter, a capable officer with a work ethic driven to get the job done. She liked that in a man, ambition was the driving force to success. She was eager to meet the man on his home turf and debrief him on the matters of the meeting. After ringing the chime a few times, she decided to wait outside his door for a few moments before seeking him elsewhere.

Remy walked down the corridor, a PADD tucked under his small arm. All the hard stuff was out of the way and now he could finally get back to the other files he had in waiting. The entire situation involving the Night Star was unexpected, but important. It set him back a bit and now was his time to play catch up. As he turned the corner he paused and noticed the tall, at least by his standards, woman standing outside his door. As attractive as she was, one question remained. Who the hell was she and what business did she have with Remy?.

The short officer tugged his uniform top downward and put on his most stern of looks as he continued to walk down the corridor and soon ending up outside the door of his quarters. "Do you have an appointment? I only see people by appointment and after an invasive psych evaluation."

Jennifer was at first shocked by the...'height' of the officer whom had approached her. She had seen very few dwarfs in her time in Starfleet but nonetheless all men and woman, shapes and sizes were to be respected. If this was Lieutenant Batiste, his reputation was all the more respectable. "I do Lieutenant, at the will of Admiral Hunter. He asked me to fill in for you during the mission briefing. If now is a good time I would like to debrief you on the mission."

"For the love of..." Remy replied as he looked slightly upward to the woman and let out a frustrated sigh. "I already got the man back his ship, his favorite pupil, and his pupils girlfriend. What more does he want? My Caitian? My first-born?" He shook his head and faced the door, tapping the code to unlock his quarters. "For an Admiral, Max is very needy."

Jennifer followed Batiste into his quarters as the door opened. She enjoyed his charisma with every passing moment and couldn't help herself but find herself wanting to perform a more thorough debriefing. She swallowed deeply as she stopped past the door biting her bottom lip. It had been a while since Jennifer was able to 'relax' herself. "It seems they are all like that. I'd swear the moment that box goes around their pips they forget how to function independently. But you know..." Jennifer said looking around the room, side to side, up and down. "We officers have needs as well." she cooed.

Remy let out a bit of a chuckle and cleared his throat quickly to shadow his amusement. "Sometimes I am convinced that every Admiral has their mind wiped to remove their time as an Officer so they can forget that they used to be in the same position as we were. Taking orders and having little, to no, say in the matter." He said as he placed his PADD on the table and turned back to Jennifer with a raised brow. "Now, wait? Did you say you took my place at a debriefing? Do you work for me? Because, if you do. You're fired."

Any smile that had once been on Jennifer's face was quickly erased by the Lieutenant's tone now replaced by a cold stare. She crossed her arms, leaning her hips to the right. "In case you didn't notice Lieutenant. I am a Lieutenant Commander. So if anything you would work for me. However I am happy to report that neither scenario is true at this time and I can happily leave you here with in the company of your PADDs to have dinner over talks of pre-warp civilizations and needy Admiral's errands." she replied coldly.

Remy enjoyed her spunk as he quickly replied. "I don't care if you're a Lieutenant Commander or a Hand Maiden from the Dark Ages. One this ship, I am the Chief of Intelligence and whether you have an Admiral's permission slip or a smiley sticker on your forehead, it doesn't mean you can take my place without telling me about it first. I am sure Admiral Hunter had good reason for sending you in place of me while he kept me occupied with an important debriefing of his own, but on this ship there is still a procedure to things." He quickly walked away and stopped half way to his kitchen before turning around to face Jennifer again. "I am sure if you keep up the holier than thou attitude, you will have your own gold box around your pips in no time."

Before she could respond, Remy walked into his kitchen and opened the fridge with a smile. He admired the girls tenacity and take charge attitude. It reminded him a lot of himself when he was coming up from the academy. Without missing a beat, and changing his entire tone from confrontational to pleasant, the small officer poked his head back out and quickly asked. "Would you like something to drink, Tate?"

Jennifer's scowl did not change as she wanted to tear the little toad apart, however he was right. Hunter should have known better and so should she. She simply tossed the PADD across the room onto a couch. "Then maybe YOU should take that up with Admiral Hunter." she replied turning her head away from him studying his decor further. "But I will have a drink before I go, something strong."
