"You are alive and you are here," Sam replied. "You are still a department head. And it appears you and Ronnie have worked out your differences. I would say you have definitely come out on top." She paused. "Starfleet is concerned about the two of you. They want to see how you deal with being back on the ship. And, Mr. Wolfe, they have concerns about you as head of security. I've assured them you are more than competent. All you need to do is be a good head of security and don't run it like Intel and I should be able to push through a promotion in a couple of months."
[NEW]
"Life of an Intel Officer, I guess." Damion replied softly and then nodded. "It won't change my work ethic or drive, Ma'am. You don't need to worry about that."
"I never doubted that. You are still a valued member of my crew." She looked at Ronnie. "Both of you. As I said, a lot has happened since you left. Mr. Wolfe, we are in the middle of a situation that will require your help. You will need to call on both your Intel and security training." She turned to Max. "Do you want to fill him in or shall I?"
Admiral Hunter stood up and quickly motioned his hand to keep everyone else from raising. "No, Commodore. I believe the rest is yours. If memory serves, I have a shuttle to pick up and I believe it has a gift for me inside." He gave a slight smile and nodded his head to York before heading to the door.
At a look from Max, she continued. "This is classified, but we have had several instances where a Cardassian named Gul Morat has assaulted crew of the Calypso. It will be up to you and Mr. Batiste to find out how she is getting on board and keep her from doing it again."
Damion nodded his head a bit. "I'll call some of my contacts and see what they know about the Gul."
"Already got my contacts working on it, Lieutenant Wolfe. There is no need to take our your old rolodex and go to the trouble of remembering who owes whom and what name to use. My people always come through." Remy replied with a bit of a smirk.
"If this is how the two of you are going to act, I may have to remove you both and let your assistants take over," Sam said half-seriously. She was pleased to have both men on her ship as both were highly competent in their fields and she would have need of both of them in the future, but she really didn't want them to be continually trying to one-up each other.
"Oh no, Ma'am. I can handle Mini Me over here." Damion replied quickly, looking over to Remy for a moment before looking back to York. "I know all his little tricks. Remy might be a small pain, but I don't need to step over him in order to keep track of his little shoes."
Sam rolled her eyes, but said nothing in response. "Is there anything else we need to cover?"
"Yes. The damn shuttle of his." Damion said, with a slight smirk. "I want in."
"No. No." Remy said quickly, standing up as he looked from Damion, to Sam. "That is an Intel Shuttle, Captain. My team and I are the only ones permitted with the occasional exception from time to time."
Damion looked to Sam, letting out a sigh. "Security reasons, Captain. I need to access its capabilities and threat level to establish its use and effectiveness in situations. There may need to be a time where we might need it for more that just Lieutenant Batiste's Club House."
"You know very well its capabilities. You're just using that as an excuse to finally get inside." Remy said before looking over to Sam. "Captain. I am afraid Mr Wolfe is using his position as a means to finally fulfill his goal of getting on board the Horus, Ma'am. You can't allow this. It's a violation of my work and my teams work."
"What Violation?" Damion questioned as he raised a brow and looked over to Remy. "You're on this ship. You and your floating club house are now attached to this ship, the flagship mind you, and in order to maintain security of this ship and crew I need to know what is in there what I can use and what I can't."
"I'll give you documents if you need to. A full report." Remy responded quickly, narrowing his eyes.
"Nothing personal, Grumpy, but I wouldn't trust you as far as I could throw you." Damion said before pausing and raising a brow. "Wait. You're pretty small so I could probably throw you pretty far. It still doesn't negate the fact that I don't trust you to tell me everything because you're a Dwarf-sized weasel."
"You'll have to get permission from Admiral Hunter," Sam said, passing the buck. "I do not have the authorization to give you access, Mr. Wolfe."
Remy shook his head with a groan as he sat back down. "That's is going to work out soo well. They are practically joined at the hip."
"That's because, Grumpy, we have a little thing called trust. I know its a complicated thing for you and your small brain to comprehend, but its something that has developed over the years with Max. You would know this if you didn't spend most of your life in a hole or a box." Damion smirked slightly and then looked back to Sam and added. "Or do Dwarf's live under rocks. I keep forgetting."
Sam wasn't going to get involved in that particular argument.
Ronnie, on the other hand, said, "Trolls live under bridges. Bugs live under rocks. Dwarfs live in cottages in the woods -- but only the ones in fairy tales. I don't think that applies here."
"Now that we -- hopefully -- have this matter settled, I think you should get settled and then have a talk about how you're going to move forward. Good luck, and dismissed."
