"...no leaving it to fate to decide my way. I know." Michelle replied as she set to work, putting the box aside.

Kate was sure to walk Michelle home, a nice thing for any friend to do but she hoped she was also doing her friend a favour. Michelle slowly walked in, putting the box that had her jacket and 'that' note down on the spare chair. She hung her uniform jacket over the back and stepped away for a drink. "So..." Kate started. "You are going to go and look for him, right?"

"Especially when you won't leave it alone; Kate, I felt so embarrassed for what happened. I should have asked why he was so quiet, but I got so caught up in what we were doing. I thought he was a hologram and that asking for one dance wouldn't hurt. Boy was I ever wrong! He at least returned the jacket but what must he think of me?!"

Kate stepped over and picked up the card out of the box, reading it over quickly."Seems honest, polite and says you are a 'divine dancer'. Doesn't seem like he is all that far off the mark. If you don't do anything his gesture will have been for nothing. What about that kiss, all impulse, no heat or desire? Have you even thought about that dance or the kiss at all today?"

By now Michelle had picked up the guitar and was messing around with a chord or two. As soon as the kiss and dance were mentioned she missed a couple of notes. Michelle blushed and tried to hide her slip up; just as it was when she tried not to blush around 'him' she failed, dismally.

"Miss a note or three? I think I know who you have been thinking about. " Kate replied with a smile.

"Am I? I hadn't really been making an effort to do so...." Michelle tried to slide her fingers along the neck of the guitar to play with the sound of a note, her fingers practically slid off the string. "I'm not doing so well, am I?"

"Being a spectacular failure. Just go and see the guy. Put on a nice dress, go in there with a smile; heck maybe even take the guitar with you, play for him. Show the guy there's no real misunderstanding there and there's more to you than one dress, some spins and dips. He might surprise you." Kate got up, took the guitar away from Michelle and practically pushed her into her own bedroom. "You're not coming out till you're wearing something nice, preferably girly, maybe even a little 'showy'. I'll make the final call and I'll march you out the door if I really have to!"

"Kate!" Michelle tried to protest even though she knew it was of no real use. Michelle found her Mauve dress that had the angled cut from one leg to the other. It was 'rounded' off to look a bit like flower petals that could be falling off the flower and catching the wind. The rounded hem started at the mid thigh and finished just past the right knee. A simple sweetheart neckline with short sleeves that had the same 'petal like' shape and hemming to them. She finished it off with a contrasting deep blue shawl and some ballet flats that matched the dress. "How about this?" she asked softly.

"There we go! Very nice, now go and find that guy! Take the note, all you will need to do is ask the Computer for a location and off you go! Good luck, I'll let myself out once I'm sure you're on the hunt." Kate saw her out, handing her the guitar so she had no real reason to come sneaking back. "I'll check your location a couple of times so no sneaking off and playing in the gardens or something." Kate said with a wink before the door closed.

"Computer..." she said with some hesitation "current location of Jemnar Softtouch."

[Ensign Jemnar Softtouch is in the Ten Forward.] The computer replied.

"Great, wide, open and a nice public place to embarrass myself." she sighed, popped the guitar strap over her right shoulder and headed off for the lounge.

The Lounge was at the usual levels as Softtouch sat in his usual corner farthest from the windows, it gave him a good vantage to the people as he sat with a PADD watching the crowd. He found it amazing that people around him had such open expressions, the sounds of conversations and the 'white noise' of their projections so freely about the room.

Michelle had not eaten yet, so the idea of being in the lounge was not quite as bad as it could have been. She came in and found a spot by the windows to settle down. She swung the guitar around and onto her right knee, getting all settled in. She noticed one of the staff moving around and seemed to catch their attention without even a word. She placed an order for some nachos and a Sumarian Sunset. The Staff walked away just as she started to play. One hand along the neck and quietly strumming the guitar, she looked out at the stars and spotted Jemnar in the reflection of the room on the glass. She picked up the tempo of the song a little as she looked at him through the glass. *Hello Mister Softtouch* she thought to herself as she put some passion into her playing.
