ON
Softtouch felt something in the air; his name was dancing upon the wind in a way. Within the sounds filling the background it was the distinct sound meant for him. He scanned the room with his vision and opened his mental ears to have some kind of a notice that projections concerned him. He felt that these projections were also a bit desired; someone had wanted to catch his attention in a way. He looked around and using his ears as well to see if that person would say his name?
The person playing the instrument caught his eye; the girl from the dance. Her pretty aura was not difficult to find and he made eye contact with her and gave a little wink as humans do.
She blushed, almost missing a note out of the Earth song that she was fiddling around with. Kate's words and idea that 'you can't really avoid things' had brought up a song she had heard. 'Can't Fight the Moonlight' was echoing in the lounge amongst the conversation noise. She saw the wink in the reflection. He had spotted her! "Jemnar..." She played around with the first name, not really sure of just how to actually say it. "Jem-nar.." The chords carried on blurring into the chorus. She started to rock with the music just as her snack and drink arrived. Should she move to him? Would he come to her? Maybe the song would play out before she made her choice or he made his?
"Underneath the Starlight, starlight
We'll be lost in the rhythm, so right
Feel it steal your heart tonight" She started to sing, maybe attracting some attention of the other diners, but more so for one in particular.
"You can try to resist,
try to hide from my kiss
but you know, but you know that you
Can't fight the moonlight.."
The thoughts were quite encompassing; he could feel the projection repeating itself and drawing his attention, tickling his notice part of his attention pulling him towards the music. He did not have to disengage his observations of her; she was quite lovely; especially the way her feelings were placed into the music; it was more than just words that she sang from a page of her mind. It is more of a tickling send across the Lounge; she had not picked this song. It is like listening to his own folk music on his home world; like all musicians, a song is a way to express one's feelings. She was reaching out with her music this time; she had a projected aura to it; where the voice wanted to fall despite the ears of many listening. Like any music it expressed from the heart to be melodically and touch as the artists intends. She sang in the crowd but the way she sang told him she wanted only one person to hear it's true artistic message.
Almost like an old earth style 'Busker' Michelle played not worrying about everyone moving about her; the eyes glanced up every so often catching the reflection and Jemnar's face. A smile slightly curving her mouth as she continued on.
"Deep in the dark
You'll surrender your heart
but you know, but you know
that you can't fight the moonlight
No you can't fight it
No matter what you do
The night is gonna get to you!" There was a bit of emphasis on the last couple of words, a little note play in the hold of the note and slight attitude.
This time he was listening to the words as he would on his planet; the soft touching of her mind projecting in her song the message she wanted to express and while all might hear; the telepathic mind was silent to him, but the emotions were fully being realized. She wanted to speak where she felt she could not; like what humans called a siren only luring someone not to their death but just to her presence, she played this song to attract a certain person and the unknowing beings around her were listening but not hearing the true message of the piece. To them it is a pretty song meant to entertain and her appearance might seem to add to her but she was not an 'open ballad', it was meant for someone to get the message and Softtouch felt the empathic ebbings washing about the lounge.
There was a guitar interlude and the tune was taken up in sound and a little in tempo. It was the crescendo of the song's finale. The interlude played through with a deep note change cueing in the lyrics once more. She rocked as she played and every so often one strum of her right hand would tap the main body of the guitar for some added base and sound.
"Don't try, you're never gonna win...ohhhh"
Michelle held and played with the last word, really trying to bring out her emotion and giving what she sang her all. This in a way was an appeal as much as an apology. She truly wanted to get his attention and let him know, as shy as she was what the time on the Holodeck had meant to her
"Underneath the starlight, starlight
There's a magical feeling, so right
It'll steal your heart tonight.
“You can Try!" She took the note up a half a scale and held it for a moment, enjoying what she was doing.
"But... you know that you...Can't fight the moonlight
Deep in the dark..." another held note with emphasis.
The voice was reaching out with more than just the sounds of her melodious voice his gaze was changed for a second, she was looking away from where she wanted to gaze; the person of the song was in the…” he changed his angle of looking to the outer windows; the reflections. In those reflections he could see her face; feel her within the glass as though her thoughts bounced from them to him.
