Mission: Of Gods and Men

Maria and Jayna came in next. Maria wore a halter top and skirt in a bright yellow and green floral print. Jayna wore a black bikini with a wrap tied around her waist and tied on one hip, leaving one leg bare.

Maria headed over to a group of scientists while Jayna headed for the bar.

Sensing Kara's arrival, Cam smiled as she reached him, "hay, it sounds like we're going to play piƱata with a watermelon"

"Sounds like fun," Drani said, smiling as she grabbed a pina colata from the bar.

"Sign me up," Kara said, slipping her arm through Cam's.

Arnon Barak entered wearing brown sandals, a khaki colored bathing suit, a brown t-shirt and a handmade Scala raffia straw hat with a brown leather band around it.

"Hello, everyone!," he said, enthusiastic as always. "What a lovely program, Commodore!"

"Hi, Arnon. Come in and get yourself a drink," Sam called.

The doors parted as Munich came into the program with a smile on his face; he had taken into account that he is an officer and in a public display that will be remembered when he is on the bridge. Today he wore a suit that was closer to tight fitting running shorts in a bright color of yellow and the off white muscle shirt and the three 'lays' would finish the ensemble. The sandals were for the corridor and were not for the sand of the beach, he wore the black lens of aviator style sunglasses as he came into the scene. He did not often 'dress down' nor show off his physique that he kept well maintained through a regiment of Martial Arts and rigorous exercise.

"Goot day Ma'am." Munich said as he saw the Commanding Officer as he removed a lei and placed it around her neck with a kiss to each cheek. "Now you are ready for a lua." He smiled.

"Thank you," Sam said, giving Hans a cheeky curtsy. "I'm glad you dressed appropriately."

With a certain figure catching his eye he moved towards the woman he found so alluring. He stopped just over Maria's shoulder and when she took notice he smile ; removed the second lei and placed it around her neck.

"Have to make sure you are properly attired for luau." He said before kissing both cheeks in proper European fashion.

Maria grinned. "Thank you, kind sir. I'm glad you made it." She gave him a hug. "You look great, by the way."

Spartacus was able to slip virtually unnoticed to the Luau; her soft sandals did not have quite the echo of her duty heels. The strings of the sandals laced up to the ankles where the thick silver anklet hung below the ring of flowers that she had on her ankles; the vibrant colors in contrast to her dark green skin did give her the effect of having a tan as her long legs were bare from the bottom of the grass skirt she wore. Like her other attire there were 'tricks of the trade' that she had to get the grass to 'contour more to her hips and the angular cut of the hem live which was above the knee on her right hide and diagonally to the left at mid-thigh; she was being proper in her reserved attire.

Her wrist had similar rings of flowers with the pedals catching the light to match the tiara style ring of multicolored tropical flowers she wore like a crown with her short hair. The black string bikini style back wound around her to the two coconuts style front of the outfit. With a short lay of white and yellow flowers in contrast to the thicker framed white sunglasses reminiscent of the old Earth Jackie O from the 1960's and thought to be very fashionable.

Walking over to the commodore York she smiled. "Thank you for the invitation Commodore." Her almost Scottish type accent said. "A very enjoyable idea for morale." She tipped her sunglasses down and winked. "Love your outfit ma'am, classic and elegance never go out of style."

"Thank you. You look great. I love the coconuts," Sam replied. "They remind me of South Pacific, an old Earth musical."

-- Engineering --

Chris sighed as he stepped back from the console he had just finished installing. As he stepped back, he felt a slight twinge of pain in his shoulder, ignoring the burn mark on his uniform where he'd been struck by blaster fire. Thankfully, it had been a reflected shot so it hadn't been a full power, but it stung still. "Alright, power it up." Chris ordered. As the display lit up, Elley approached him. "Chief, aren't you going to the party?" Elley asked.

"Got too much here to do. You go, represent us all." Chris replied, as he checked the console. "Williams, let's get working on the EPS Conduits."

"Aye Chief." Williams replied, as Elley walked out of engineering. "Smith to Commodore York." Elley said.

"York here," Sam replied. "What's up?"

"Commodore, I know things are still busy in Engineering, but can you come and convince Chief Hartley to join your party? He needs a change of scenery for a short time, but he won't listen to any of us." Elley said.

Sam sighed. She should have known. "On my way -- and thank you."

Sam turned to Teenah. "Come on, I might need backup."

"It should be even odds, I have only what you see to 'strong arm' anyone into having fun." She added a little sway to her hips. "Might have to use... other attributes to convince anyone ma'am."

As Sam passed the bar, she tapped Jennifer on the shoulder. "I have to retrieve a wayward Engineer. Can you take over as hostess until I return?"

Jennifer paused for a moment as shock set in. "Yes...of course." She managed to stammer out. Why was the Commodore asking her to take over a party she wasn't even certain she was invited to? Was it some kind of test?

"Relax, just say hello if someone looks lost and tell them to get a drink," Sam replied with a smile.
