The music continued to play over the comm system. Ronnie worked at shutting it off, but it kept coming back.
Sheridan checked his phaser, he was ready and he knew there were crew in the lounge. Well, he had Marines, so it was time to get this show on the road. The door opened as he slid across the lounge floor. The pirate whose legs he crashed into didn't even budge... As he looked down to see what had bumped into him his lower jawbone exploded as Sheridan recovered and blasted him in the face... Sheridan rolled to the wall for protection luck was with him as several pirates never saw what had happened to their buddy by the door...
John tapped his combadge "Twelve or better in here"
Suzette had been in the lounge getting a muffin when the pirates entered the lounge. She quickly stood beside a plant, becoming virtually invisible to the pirates. She waited until the Xo made an appearance and the pirates around her were distracted. She took the opportunity to sneak up to one of the pirates who wasn't close to any of the Orion personnel. One of them happened to have a grenade on his belt. Suzette pulled the pin and slid rapidly behind a small alcove to be shielded from the blast. Several seconds later it went off, killing the man and four pirates nearby.
Sheridan's Hearing was gone. He got up on his knee and looked across a smoking room. H e saw a wounded pirate crawling for cover, John waited, another pirate stepped over to help him, he got them both low and walked the rounds up their bodies. He ducked back down as someone sprayed the wall behind him.
Ever since the Commander rushed in first, Marines had been steadily funneling into the room, one fire team at a time. Each group found spots to bunker down, most of which were the large tables that littered the lounge. The numbers were clearly stacking up against the pirates and the enemy was becoming more and more desperate, they were taking risky shots and spreading their line thin. A fire team had quietly hugged the wall to the right and began to swing around to get behind the pirates line. Because of swarm of moving bodies in front of them, the pirates missed the movement of the four Marines.
Once in position the Corporal in charge lifted his weapon and aimed it at one of the enemies that had cut himself off from the rest of his comrades. With two quick shots to the back the target fell in a heap on to the floor. The Marines fell to their bellies and seemed to slither further behind tables and plants, closing their distance to the enemy. In another minute they would have the pirates surrounded...
Shinga and her security team shuffled in after the marines.
"Alright team, let's get these bastards!" she said enthusiastically.
The yellow and grey crewman shuffled up to the Commanders position to check on him:
"Sir, Shinga Thrax here. What's your status?"
"I'm well, but these pirates need to disappear."
Shinga signaled her team to approach the pirates,
Pang! Pang! Went their phasers.
Pewm! Pewm! The disruptors of the pirates fired back.
"C'mon, let's get these bastards! My hair is getting messed up!" Shinga joked, but her intent was clear.
She and her security team continued to fire, and successfully hit two of the pirates.
She signaled her team to advance, and they inched closer to the remaining pirates.
Two Marines pulled Sheridan out of the room and back into the hallway. He tapped his come badge. "Lets get this mess wrapped up and secure the wounded and prisoners if there are any."
Ted looked over the bar and saw the fray. He looked at Toras and he took the Louisville Slugger that he kept behind the bar while she went to the kitchen and got two of her finest knives. Together they snuck around the end of the bar and Toras stood up and ran towards the closest one, plunging the knife into his lung. He died soon after, barely letting out a whisper. Ted stood up and began swinging the bat at the closest pirate's head like it was a T-ball. The pirate went down and moved no more.
The remaining pirates were starting to panic, they saw the violent attacks on their comrades and weren't sure what to do. They started firing in full automatic at anything that moved, quick and indistinct targets, more to keep heads down then hit anyone. Each of them slowly started backing up to the wall behind them; they had no plan for this. It wasn't supposed to go down this way. In their retreat they failed to notice the four Marines that had finally made their way behind them.
Each of the men was well hidden and prepared to make their attack at the pirates exposed flank. They slowly crawled forward until they were only a few paces away. Using hand signals, Corporal Davies motioned that they were to use non-lethal attacks. Once in position, the four Marines lunged forward at the three unsuspecting targets.
The Corporal was first to reach his target. He swung his leg forward and caught the pirate in the back of his knee, forcing his leg to buckle underneath him. He started to open his mouth to yell in pain but was cut short as Davies slammed his rifle butt into the man’s head with a thud. Instantly the man fell unconscious to the floor.
Similar actions were being carried out by the remaining three Marines as they quickly silenced their targets without any ally's being harmed. Only one of the pirates remained conscious, though he was on his back and bleeding profusely from a broken nose. His weapon lay several feet away from him and had two carbines pointed inches away from his face. He was clearly frightened and held his hands up in surrender rather than tending to his bloodied face.
"Clear!" The Corporal yelled to the remaining Starfleet officers and Marines to indicate a cease-fire.
For now, all was well and it was time to clean up the mess.
