Mission: Deadly Diplomacy

[CONTINUED]

[OLD]

Logan placed his claws hands down on the console and put his head down. He let out a soft growl as his claws slid downward, scratching the console in front of them as he did his best to contain himself because this was obviously leading no where.

[Interrogation Room]

"Oh look. It's the King of the Lollipop Guild. Where's The Cowardly Lion and Dorothy? Why don't you bring them in and we can have a regular Wonderland Party?" Kayte smirked as she looked to Remy, whose stern looked had yet to leave his face.

"Dorothy was in Oz, not Wonderland. You're confusing her with Alice, but I don't want to talk children's stories. I want to talk about Stryfe and The Nightstar." Remy replied softly, as he sat down in his chair and took his PADD off the table.

Kayte smirked and shook his head. "I am afraid I don't know what you're talking about."

"Than let me remind you." Remy replied as he brought up a file on his PADD. "Gregory Stryfe, former Captain of Starfleet and high ranking member of Intel. Last known assignment was the Nightstar, a classified Defiant Class Starship, which you are a crew member of. The ship is modified for Intelligence gathering and special operations, specifically designed to police assigned sectors. Receiving orders from Starfleet Command and Intelligence. Last known whereabouts was unknown until recently."

"You think reading off a PADD is going to impress me? You clearly haven't done your homework." Kayte replied quickly than paused, narrowing her eyes at the short man before continuing. "And Stryfe is long gone by now so you can go back to refering to him and his ship as 'whereabouts unknown", okay?"

"Actually, Kitten, I have done my homework and thanks to you we know exactly where to find your Captain." Remy touched the PADD as the multiple screens in the room began to show a sector of space and stars. In the middle was a red outline of a Defiant Class Starship. "At least, thats the message that's going to be sent out to Starfleet Command and Intelligence. An encrypted frequency that we know the Nightstar is monitoring."

Kayte looked at him coldly, while internally she was showing signs of concern. Signs that Remy was easily picking up on. "Styfe would never believe that crap."

"Of course he will." Remy replied, looking back down on his PADD and pressing a button. "As soon as he realizes that you sold him out for a reduced sentence in a Federation Minimal Security Facility."

"That's a lie!"

Remy looked at her with a smirk and replied. "Stryfe doesn't know that." He cleared his throat a bit and nodded his head slightly. "You see, Kayte, I have done my homework and my homework has revealed that as much as you say you aren't afraid, in actuality, you're deepest fear is Stryfe. You know what he is capable of and you have seen what he does to traitors. As close as you are to him, Stryfe will always trust one person with no hesitation and that's himself."

[Observation Room]

Logan walked away from the window and towards a console that displayed the picture of the outlined Defiant ship. "How did he get this? I told him, since the transport was a decoy I wasn't able to triangulate the origin." He tapped on the console and began to analyze the images. "This can't be right."

"Why not?" she asked. "He seems to know a great deal about the Night Star." She was quite impressed with Remy and the way he was handling the interrogation.

"All of that is on record." Logan replied. "Max granted us access to the file in order to be more well informed. Hoping we would find something to use to find the ship, but as far as I know, we didn't find anything. Even the transmissions from Lancaster were hard to trace, but to come up with an exact location of the Nightstar, it's too Deus Ex Machina. Even for Remy."

"Yes, but SHE doesn't know that," Jayna replied softly. "And if it comes right down to it, Lancaster could send us the coordinates."

"If it were that easy, she would have sent it." Logan replied quickly. "There has to be a reason why she hasn't sent it already. Either she doesn't know, or she doesn't has as much access as we think. She is a new face on board. Stryfe isn't going to let her go without a leash that easily."

"True."

[Interrogation Room]

"How do you think Stryfe will react?" Remy replied softly, looking over to Kayte. "Do you think he will hunt you down like a Hirogen after it's prey? Unrelenting. Vicious. Blood thirsty."

"You wouldn't allow Stryfe to kill me. It's against your Starfleet Ethics." Kayte snapped back.

"True, however, there is a large difference between knowing about the threat and doing something about it. Isn't there?" Remy shifted slightly in his chair and looked back at her. "Right now, your only friends are in this room."

Kayte stared at him, knowing full well what the dwarf was referring to. She had been on the other side of Stryfe's vengeance and had been able to witness, first hand, how far he would go to get back at someone who threatened him. Not only has she sat on the side lines, she had also been his right hand, wielding the weapon that brought down his fury.

Remy smiled again, feeling her conflict as he stood up again and placed his hands behind his back. "Now, Miss Manx, you can either help us help you or help us decide what goes on your tombstone and what to tell your sister, who is still a loyal member of Starfleet."

"You leave her out of this!"
