Mission: Deadly Diplomacy

ON

[Observation Room]

Jayna sat in the observation box watching Remy, Logan, and Spock interrogate Kayte, the Caitian who murdered the Panerian Delegation. Interrogation wasn't Jayna's strong suit. She tended to lose her temper and that didn't usually end well. It had definitely cost her when they captured Kayte. She hadn't spoken to Logan since. In fact, this was the first time she'd seen him since their argument. She rubbed her eyes and sighed. It was a good thing she at least had her own quarters to go back to or she'd be bunking on the Horus.

She straightened her notepad and looked over what little she'd written on the paper. Sometimes it helped to actually write something down rather than enter it in to a PADD. She tore out the first page, crumpled it into a ball, and threw it into the recycle bin. It had nothing but doodles of Logan's name on it. Stupid.

She turned back to the window and again focused on the interrogation room and the woman inside.

[Corridor]

Remy and Logan walked down the corridor. While Remy kept his stern look on his face, Logan seemed slightly concern. "So... let me understand this. You want me to not go into the room with you? Did I miss something?"

Remy stopped in his steps and looked up toward his large Caitian friend. "I have interrogated people without you before, Mister Logan. Believe it or not, this is my specialty. Besides, I wouldn't want you to get lured into a situation that you would regret by your feline kinsmen."

"Lured into a situation? Are you talking about sleeping with her?" Logan said, raising his voice slightly. "I wouldn't sleep with that infected ally cat if she was only Caitian left in the universe."

"No, Logan, that is not what I meant. However, it's curious that your mind would automatically lead to that conclusion. Are you... feeling tempted?" Remy asked curiously as he raised a brow and crossed his arms.

Logan raised a brow and crossed his arms over his chest. "What?I No. No. Hell no. No with a capital N for Not in your life time."

Remy reacted with a smile and patted his large friend on his side and nodded. "Good. I was afraid I was going to have to get you neutered."

"That's not funny." Logan replied quickly, his face still in puzzlement from the accusation that he would do anything with Kayte. "Not in the least, Tiny Tim."

Remy just gave a slight chuckle and held out his arms "God bless us... everyone." Letting out a final laugh before walking up to the door of the interrogation room and putting on a stern look as the doors opened. His eyes locked quickly onto the female Caitian as he walked fully into the room and placed his PADD onto the table in front of her.

[Observation Room]

Logan shook his head and walked into the second room, where Jayna was observing the interrogation. "Okay. I'm confused. This is the first time, in a long time, Little Man has decided to go into an interrogation room without me. Honestly, I don't know how to take it. I feel left out." He said as he stood in front of the window and looked through it into the interrogation room, observing alongside Jayna. "I think I need a hug, really. For morale, of course."

He'd said nothing to her since their argument and now he wanted a hug for morale? Not because he cared about her; not because he wanted to work things out. No, because he was being excluded from the interrogation. "Ask the monkey."

"You're right. At the moment, he seems to be the only one with a heart." Logan replied, letting out a soft sigh as he shook his head a bit.

Jayna sucked in her breath. That hurt. Her hands tightened on her notepad and she made a mental vow to remove all her stuff from Logan's quarters as soon as she had a chance.

Logan looked down slightly, hearing the rustling of her notebook. He could tell, by that alone, she was angry and closed his eyes as he verbally smacked himself over the head. "I'm sorry. I didn't mean it." He said softly, looking over to her a bit before look back to the window. "I just.... I want thing's to be like they were. That's all."

"Sure couldn't tell by your actions," she said quietly.

"If you know me so well, then you should know how much it kills me not to be with you. Unless, all those times you told me you love me were just words." Logan said as he looked over to her. "You're the one who can't seem to understand why I did what I did. It wasn't to hurt you, or keep you from hitting her, it was to keep me from doing anything to you. I can't control myself when I am like that, Jayna. This is the first time you seen me like that and I, honestly, never wanted you to see me that way. I almost ripped Remy apart once. Remy, and you know how close I am with him."

"So, rather than work it out, you choose to push me away?" she asked.

"I'm not the one who walked away?! I'm not the one who has been avoid the other?! That's all you, Jay. Not me. I've looking for ways to talk to you, but you seem to be avoiding me. every time I get close, you walk away. So you tell me who is pushing who away."

Jayna looked at him for a long moment, wishing she could say something so he would understand that he was the one who basically told her he didn't want her, but she knew he wouldn't understand. So she chose to answer another comment. "The only place I've been avoiding you is in your quarters. You've known where to find me if you really wanted to talk."

Logan placed his claws hands down on the console and put his head down. He let out a soft growl as his claws slid downward, scratching the console in front of them as he did his best to contain himself because this was obviously leading no where.
