Mission: Deadly Diplomacy
Location: Sickbay
Timeline: Current

Bob sat across from Ilse with a PADD in him hand. "Most of the staff have returned."

Ilse leaned back "Have there been any new personnel who arrived?" Ilse questioned with a yawn.

"A few" Bob said as he handed the doctor a PADD with a list of names on it. "I scheduled most of them for pre-lim's as soon as they saw fit to come and check in."

Ilse nodded as she continued to look down at the list. "Hmmm, new Counselor, thank you Bob" she replied as Bob stood to go about his normal routine. "Contact me as soon as that klingon lounge manager comes in for therapy."

"Yes, Doctor." Bob said as he left Ilse and noted a new face enter.

"Excuse me," said Arnon. "Are doctor or do you just play one on the holovids?"

Ilse stood up and smiled "I think I should take that as a compliment. I am Ilse Frost, and you are?"

"Doctor Arnon Barak," Arnon said, introducing himself to the Calypso's medical officer. "Merely an attempt at humor. I assume you wish to do a preliminary exam now that I'm aboard?"

"Unless you had one on the station before hand, yes." Ilse glanced at his ears but said nothing. She was curious however as he appeared Vulcan but sensed he was not. She held out her hand towards a bio-bed with a smile. "This way please and do tell me a bit about your race."

"We're for all intents and purposes Vulcan," Arnon replied. "But our brains didn't go on to develop in the same ways as theirs. We tend to be more emotional and we tend to express our emotions more physically. Exercise, physical contact, sex. Like Vulcans, I don't sweat. My blood is low temperature and is forced through my system at high speed by an extremely high heart rate. That's how I remain cool. That's one of the reasons Vulcans think humanoids stink, by the way. Sweat. Vulcanoids aren't used to smelling it on sentients. With our sensitive noses, until we get used to it, you all can smell a little rank."

"I suppose we do, some more then others." Frost replied "So, for general purposes I will inform the Chief Medical Officer to keep an extra supply of Vulcan plasma on hand." She glanced at him again "It is interesting that your race has chosen to use your emotions in a manner conducive to a more positive release then to simply run around and provoke fights like the klingons." She smiled then and patted the bio-bed

"Oh we have our share of fights," said Arnon. "But generally we are lovers not fighters."

"So, you prefer peace to war, that is quite admirable." Ilse turned to the bio-beds examination console and started it up. "Please lie down, this won't take too long." She had the bio-bed take some scans while she used the tricorder to catch things it might have missed. "So are there many of your race in Star Fleet?" Ilse glanced at his eyes while she scanned his cranial and smiled once more.

"Some," Arnon replied. "More now than when we first joined the Federation, but we don't join in great numbers."

"Uh-huh..." Ilse replied "That would explain why I have not many of your species before." She nodded as she moved the tricorder over his midsection "Are you getting enough protein?"

"Yes," Arnon replied. "There's probably some in there now."

That made Frost laugh and it was good to laugh. "Eating enough grains, fruits and vegetables as well? Because your beta carotene looks a touch low as does your potassium."

"I'll be sure to eat more carrots and bananas," Arnon replied.

"Uh-huh, and then there is the small problem of your rash." Frost opened a drawer. "Your feet will appreciate this." She handed him a creme. "Other then that, get out of here and I hope to not see you again unless its under pleasant circumstances at one of the many functions we do on the ship." Frost smiled briefly and stored his examination data in the system for retrieval if needed.

"That's what I get for spending a, shall we say 'athletic' afternoon with a young woman I didn't know very well. Had some Deltan in her racial make up I'd say. Anyway, thanks for the exam. Ta-ta."

Arnon hopped down off the biobed, waved goodbye, and left Sick Bay.
