[CONTINUED]

[OLD]

Damon walked up to the doctor holding a pair of beers. "Doc," He said with mock severity "I have a serious issue. I have two beers but only one mouth. I'm not sure what to do with this other one." He smiled and held the beer out to the man. "The wine can wait."

[NEW]

"Hey, Damon...," he put the glass of wine down and took a bottle of beer from him. "Thanks, man. That's going to relax me more. How things?" Jason glanced at him before looking at the crowd.

Damon took a long drag on the beer before answering. "You know how things are, fine today, fighting for you life tomorrow. No one ever said life aboard the Calypso would be easy." He sipped his beer again. "Honestly I'm not sure how to react with the crew after that last fiasco. I've done a lot to hide my war mongering days." He shrugged. "We just have to move on. How about you? Been a while since i've seen you at one of these."

Leroy had been quietly nodding off, but his eyes snapped open. Shaking his head, he stood and started moving out of the party. Passing the Doctor and Commander Raines, he glanced but said nothing. He didn't know them, so he didn't want to bother what seemed to be a private conversation. Stepping up to the Captain seconds later, he put his hands behind his back, in an "At Ease" position. "Cap, I was wondering if I could perhaps take my men out and test them. This is all well and good but I haven't had a chance to test their abilities and reflexes. Since we're in a peaceful part of the area, I couldn't think of a better time." It was an excuse, but he hated functions like this. He didn't often try to meet new people, since he didn't want to get close to anyone. He didn't want to leave an impression on anyone in the off chance he was shot down or his bird destroyed during a protection mission.

Sam had to grin at her new pilot. "I understand. This party isn't required. Talk to the OOD and set up rotations for your teams. Might as well make use of the time available."

"Yes Ma'am, I'll have a flight log ready in twenty minutes." Leo nodded and started leaving, passing multiple other people. As he stopped at the arch, he hailed the two flight leaders he had. They were to meet him in the flight bay for a quick breifing with the rest of their flights.

After Leroy walked off the holodeck, Sam turned and caught Damon's eye and smiled. Then, as he was in conversation with Doctor Hart, she headed for the botanist to have a chat.

"Commodore, I was wondering what is this place? Is it one of your programs?" Eamon asked walking up to Sam with a drink in hand.

"I adapted it from three other programs, so yes, more or less. It will remain in the ship's computer if you wish to use it later," Sam replied.

Seeing the Commodore speaking with a few crew folks, Andrews semi dragged Korok over to her. "Commodore, begging your pardon, but this gentleman and I would like to arrange our getting married, with you officiating, at your earliest convenience?"

Korok turned a dark burgundy as he realized who Samantha York was and that she was speaking with the woman from the arboretum.

Sam turned to the couple. "Congratulations, both of you," she smiled broadly at both of them. "That would primarily be up to the two of you. I can arrange my schedule to suit you."

Andrews looked at Korok then back at the Commodore. "We'll need to get a 'few' things straight first regardng the ceremony. Would a week from this coming Sunday be ok?" Andrews then quickly turned to Korok.."That all right with you, sweetheart?"

Before Korok could respond, Andrews heard a familar voice behind her back. "Still doing the 'unexpected,' I see" Andrews whirled around and looked down. "Shanny!" She shouted and grabbed Shannon O'Brian with a big bear hug. "Good to see you too, 'Stretch.'" O'Brian replied with a smile. She then turned to the Commodore. "Lieutenant JG Shannon O'Brian, Engineering, reporting, Mam." O'Brian caught the form of Korok Lukk out of the corner of her eyes, and her smile froze.

"Lieutenant O'Brian," Sam said, then she turned to see what had caught the Engineer's eye. Interesting.

Kara stopped in the woods and sat on a rock. A fox wandered out of a clump of bushes, looked at her, and darted back the way he'd come.

She chuckled and then stopped. Something strange was happening. She felt a tingling sensation much like a... Her surroundings faded away before she could cry out.

The click of her low heels of her boots preceded Spartacus as she entered the room; she did admit to herself that it was strange to be meeting her new Commanding Officers at a party. She walk in with the full skirted uniform, dark tights and calf high boots. Her tailored uniform seemed to move with her as she kept a smile. The Pheromones were low as she had managed to get some meditations in and there were other things to consider.

ESHa had finished the uniform while they were just getting to the Calypso, the silk of her uniform dyed to match fleet colors was both comfortable as well as breathe. she moved forward towards the Commanding Officer; the swirling rainbow of colors showed Spartacus that people were enjoying themselves before the voices in the room echoed.

She noticed the Commanding Officer in the crowd, moving in that direction she was sure to keep her poise perfectly in tune as she walk like she were on the presentation; which is her natural way of moving since she was six.

"Hello Commodore York, I am Spartacus." She started

Sam heard the woman enter the holodeck and turned to watch her approach. "Spartacus? I don't believe we've met."

"No ma'am I have only arrived within the quarter hour." Spartacus said with a smile. "I am sorry for the delay the OPS department is getting a larger Hover cart to unload my Trunks." She have a salute. "Ensign Spartacus reporting for duty as a new counselor."

Sam returned the salute. "Ensign Spartacus. Welcome. Yes, I remember now. You requested larger quarters to accommodate your wardrobe. Family quarters, I believe. Apu was quite intrigued by your request. You'll need to stop by and see him before long. He's the Quartermaster and he also runs a shop on the side. He has a very eclectic variety of goods."

O'Brian glanced at Spartacus, and then quickly moved away.

"I look forward to meeting him Ma'am." Spartacus said in a proper tone as the corner of her vision noted someone moving away, her training had taught her to pay attention to details. "I might have a few bits of trade we can barter over?" She had a grin not unlike a feline near dinner time.

As she left the party, O'Brian noticed the one called 'Spartacus' glancing at her, and glanced back, a slight smile on her face but daggers from her eyes.

Sam felt Damon's surprise and turned towards him in time to see him dematerialize. "Damon!" she cried out, but it was too late.

At that moment, Korok also disappeared.

Sam tapped her combadge. "York to bridge! Shields up! Intruder alert!"

Before she could get a reply, she, too, disappeared.
