Mission:
Revenge
Location: Turbolift > Commodore's Ready Room
Eamon left his quarters to go see both Commodore York and Commander Vance in regards to his desire to change from Chief of Security and Senior Tactical Officer to Chief Engineer. Since there was no current one he thought he would offer to take it. He would then need to ask around for someone to take his position.
He tapped his combadge. "Lynx to York and Vance, could I meet with you both as soon as possible? It's important."
"Of course," Sam said. "Both of you can come to my ready room."
"Aye," Eamon replied then tapped his combadge to close the channel. He made his way to the nearest turbolift, he walked in as the doors opened.
< Turbolift >
Anastasia bumped into Eamon, in the turbo-lift. Her face paled.
"You're..." She trailed off. "Aren't you the chief of Security? We haven't met. I'm Lieutenant Junior Grade Morrow. I'm supposed to be your assistant."
She blinked a few times, causing the tear that had been welling in her eye to flick away. "You're not dead." She added.
"Yes, the reports of my death are greatly exaggerated, wait, why was I reported as dead?" Eamon asked.
"Actually, you just never bothered to talk to the guy trying to figure out who was still breathing. Considering that most of the department died, in a transporter malfunction, we're basically assuming everyone who doesn't report in is probably deceased at this point." Anastasia said, with a shrug.
"What transporter malfunction? I saw a few security teams about the ship, I ordered them to make a compleat assessment of the ship's tactical systems." Eamon said.
He did notice and was a little concerned as several good people he knew were missing. He put it down as they might either in medical or getting some intense training in before returning to duty.
"The Planet's computer network hasn't seen maintenance in quite some time. It had a hard time keeping some of the patterns together." Anastasia said. "There was some background radiation. It complicated things."
Eamon frowned. "It's always radiation isn't it." He replied annoyed. "Well I'm on my way to see the Captain and First Officer, could you tag along? I believe I will need you there."
"I was just coming from there." She said. "But... okay."
He blinked. "Really? Why?"
"I hadn't met the Captain yet." She said. "Also, I thought it appropriate to give her an updated list of suspected casualties."
"Good idea," Eamon was pleased with Ana and she displayed initiative which was a good characteristic to have being a department chief. "Let's go."
"Go where?" Anastasia asked, patiently.
< Ready Room, later >
Eamon followed by Anastasia arrived at the Captain's office, he tapped the chime.
"Come in," Sam said.
When the two walked in, she asked, "Lieutenant Lynx, why did you wish to see me?" Sam looked from one to the other.
"Sorry to bother you but, where is Commander Vance?" Eamon asked, "perhaps the Commander has yet to return to the ship?" He asked hoping the first officer was still with them.
"Hopefully they made it back to the ship." Anastasia added, quietly.
"Commander Vance should be here shortly. She's working with Intel to make the ship safer for the crew," Sam said.
"Very well. Ever since my return to the Calypso I have not been feeling like my former self Commodore, is the best I can describe it." Eamon said he looked slightly down as he continued. "I've requested this meeting to inform you that I cannot continue performing as your Chief of Security. My focus has somehow changed, I believe the reintegration of my memories is to blame." He returned his gaze back to Samantha.
Alexandra tapped the console on the ready room opening the door.
"Commodore, Lieutenant." She stated as she took a seat.
Sam nodded to Alexandra. "Glad you could make it."
She turned back to Eamon. "Very well. Where would you like to work?"
Anastasia glanced at Eamon. She was quiet, however. She didn't want to guess where he was going with this. She just take a deep breath.
"Commander," Eamon greeted Alexandra before turning back to Sam. "I understand you do not have an assigned Chief Engineer yet. I would like to assume that role."
Sam quickly pulled up Engineering on her console. "After Jourdan left, Starfleet was supposed to have reassigned one to the Calypso, but it looks like that fell through the cracks." She looked up at Eamon and smiled. "So, the position is yours."
"Oh." Anastasia said. She looked down, briefly. "Great." She muttered, softly.
Eamon glanced over at Ana with a smile on his face. "As you know that leaves Security without a Chief, which is why I would like to recommend Lieutenant Anastasia Morrow as my replacement. If you have no objections Captain?"
"I think that would be fine." Sam turned to Anastasia. "Do you want the job?"
"I will take the job." Anastasia said, nodding.
"Good. I'll send in the change to Starfleet Command. I don't think they'll have a problem with it as both your records are quite respectable." She smiled at Eamon and Anastasia. "In the meantime, I think the two of you should talk about security. Lieutenant Lynx, get her up to speed on the department -- or what's left of it. Lieutenant Morrow, accidents happen. I don't think we'll have any more problems with your department." She waved a hand towards her door. "Perhaps go to one of hte lounges and talk over drinks."
