"Computer, begin Valdez Journal on today's stardate," Wesley said as he moved himself to his bed and laid on top of his made bed.

"Acknowledge."

After the beep, he begin. "This is Doctor Wesley Valdez and I'm off-shift today. I've had a difficult surgery yesterday with a twenty-five year old patient with a stubborn tumor at the base of his cingulate cortex near the thalamus. The benign tumor was affecting his motor coordination as well as other neurological problems. It has been awhile since I have operated to remove a tumor. The patient is lucky to recover and that Calypso had the right operating equipment to do so." Wesley paused for a half second. "Earlier today, I took a swim on the island of Martinique in the holodeck. It was refreshing to get some exercise. Doctor Bowen mentioned this program and I'm glad to have taken this retreat. The funny thing about the people on this island is that they all speak French. I had no understanding of the language. As for now, I'm going to rest for the remaining day in my quarters and catch up with reading about the latest medicine on my memo. Valdez out."
