Mission:
What Dreams May Come?
Location: Bazinga's
ON
Apu walked into Bazinga's while there were not many patrons. He'd taken note of when they were generally busy and made sure he avoided those times. It wasn't that he disliked crowds. On the contrary, crowds meant business but the business he was after was best done when the new owner had time to talk.
He sat down at the bar and waited for someone to greet him.
Mojo popped up from behind the bar "Hey Mon, what can I get ya"
"Turkish coffee with a dollop of cream, please." He looked around the room and back to Mojo. "How is business? Are you in need of anything?"
"Sure one give me a few minutes. I will brew it fresh for you Mon." Mojo set up a coffee maker, he added grounds, and water and then set up the steamed milk too.
"Thank you," Apu said, sipping the coffee and smiling appreciatively. "Not everyone knows how to make a good Turkish coffee. This is excellent."
"And business is good, all the crew comes in for drinks and food just to stay awake. Let me go back and get the list Ms. Gaia keeps around of things we need." Mojo disappeared for long minutes.
While he was gone Apu turned around and watched the other customers. Yes, this was a busy place. Good for business. Maybe good for his business.
Gaia stepped out she had a smudge of flour on her face as she wiped her hands off on a towel. "Mojo said that I should come a speak with you."
Apu smiled broadly. "Yes, indeed. I am Apu. I'm the Quartermaster. You have a very nice place. Is there anything you would like me to get for you?"
Gaia smiled and picked a PADD up from behind the bar. "Just a few things, specialty fruits, vegetables, meats and other items of interest, that will be used as replacement parts for our gambling machines."
Apu looked over the list and nodded. "Not a problem." He looked up at Gaia and added. "If you need any specialty items, I can get them. There may be an additional cost if they aren't Federation standard."
"Those particular parts for the machines are specialty. I'm always looking for a good bargain. Gaia said as she placed her palms down on the edge of the bar and met the mans eyes and smiled.
"I will find you a bargain, plus a five percent finder's fee," he said. "I'll confirm quality and price with you before I order anything." He could tell that he was working with someone who knew her business and that pleased him.
Gaia stuck out her hand "Deal"
Apu grinned and shook her hand. "Deal. I think I am going to enjoy doing business with you, ma'am."
"Gaia, it simply Gaia. Try to get me those parts for the machines and we will work from there. If needed Gaia could use her grandfather and his people but she preferred to be independent about somethings.
"And I am just Apu," he said, giving her a short bow. "I should have information for you in a day or so. Delivery may take a week, but I don't foresee any problems."
Gaia smiled "Very good, would you like something to eat?"
"How about your specialty? And some champagne to toast our new business arrangement."
Gaia laughed "Do you means today's specialty or my specialty." Her eyes had lit up with humor at the man's words.
"Whichever you prefer," he said, giving her a broad smile.
"Very good, today's special it is. First how do you like your meat cooked?" Gaia inquired as she held a hand up and motioned to Jenna.
"Medium. I like my meat a little rare in the middle and a little well done on the edges. That way, I can enjoy all the textures of the meat."
Gaia told Jenna what she wanted and how she wanted it cooked as the waiteress bustled back into the kitchedn to deliver that to the chef Gaia turned back to Apu "Then might I also suggest that instead of champagne we have a light red bajoran spring wine. The taste of the special and the wine are quite delightful together." her words were sincere as she took down two chilled glasses and waited for his response.
"Then red Bajoran spring wine it is. I am most eager to see how these flavors blend together."
The dark haired woman opened the bottle with a loud pop and professionally poured the wine and set it in a cooler. The color of the wine was a light raspberry color and the aroma could be smelt as it sat in its glass. The fizz in the wine was delicate and light. Gaia lifted her glass up and smelt her wine and then took a soft sip and smiled this was one of her favorites. "Well?"
