Tabula Rasa
Location: Malcolm's Office

Walking along deck 12, Cam was heading for the Councilors office to start his theropy. He wasn't looking forward to having someone go through his past, but it was the only way for him to deal with his PTSD. Finally arriving infront of the door he was looking for. Taking a deap breath, Cam tapped the door chime.
Malcolm pipped up a bit at the sound of his chime going off, he knew he was in for a fun ride given the nature of the next appointment."Enter."
'all hands battle stations' he thought to himself as his patient walked in.
"Hay doc" Cam said, walking into Malcom's office, "feel like taking on a lost cause?" He asked, sounding a little depressed
"That is what I'm here for, do your worst." Malcolm replied.
Cam took a deep breath to calm himself down a little before he began, "alright, I suffer from a severe cast of PTSD. On occation I feel like there are enemies everywhere and can become quite jittery. At other times I can become extremely depressed over what I did, or didn't do, during the war. I have trouble getting a good nights rest without medical help and to top it all off, if I feel my life is threatened in the slightest way, I could end up falling into a 'Blood Rage' if you will, where I just lash out and beet the crap out of whatever was attacking me. The most recent case was in the Marine Gym with one of my subordinates, Sergeant Melo. I shattered her forearms and broke several of her ribs. Fortunately a few marines were able to pry me off her and hold me back long enough to regain my senses" he explained, feeling embarrassed by this fault of his being revealed "So, when do you book my rubber room?"
Malcolm took a few notes then proceeded to speak."Well I don't think I have any padded rooms available at the moment, in fact, I don't think I have any at all on this ship so that works in your favor. However, these sudden bursts of survivalist instinct when you think your being threatened must be controlled as it is a very serious issue that could get somebody killed if not kept in check. How long has it been since these started Lieutenant?"
"14 years" Cam said simply
"Holy crap thats a long time." he cleared his throat."sorry that happens at times, former host comes out sometimes. Any way, have you considered having the doctor prescribe something for it?"
Cam sighed, "yes, I've looked into medication, I found it dulled my reaction time. I've looked into meditation, memory repression, the works. I've even considered looking into telepathicly removing or suppressing the reflex. If you think medication would help, than I'll be willing to give it a try. I've just started a relationship and I don't want to screw it up"
"Of course, I understand that. Give me a moment." Malcolm got up and headed to his desk where opened up a drawer and pulled out a hypo spray. He then keyed in a few commands on the back of it and headed over to his patient."Ok now, I have this little enzyme that I think would do the trick for your little issue. Its not synthetic like most medications its 100% natural but I can't tell you what it is as it is a secret formula passed down to me from a witch doctor whom I met deep in the jungles of the Amazon, I know only his name, nothing else, but he assured me it would work for anyone that is almost out of hope for treatment of mental health issues." he then put the hypo on his neck and injected the mystery enzyme." It should begin to work quickly, do you feel any differently yet?"
Cam had to admit, at first he didn't feel anything, but after a while he felf what could only be described as a scratching feeling at the back of his mind. After a moment, it was gone. "Better, I think"
"Now from what I also understand there might be some... Reactions." he said with a slight chuckle.
"Reactions? What have you just given me?" Cam asked, conserned about what these reactions might be
"Well there might be hallucinations for starters." Malcolm just quietly as he looked down at the floor.
Cam looked at Malcolm sarcastically, "Hallucinations? Are you kidding? I want to manage my condition, not replace it with another one" he said, not liking what he was hearing, "what else should I expect?"
"Random bursts of emotion are possible especially crying but those were rare.. I think.." Malcolm said with a nervous chuckle.
Cam frowned, thinking, "well, what do you recommend? You are the medical professional"
"Well about that.. I'm not really a 'Medical' professional so much as I'm a mental health professional so I really can't suggest much other than eat lots of chocolate to help the sadness and smile when you don't want to but if it does begin to get real bad tell the Doc and don't say I did this to you."
Cam nodded, "alright, I'll give the medication another shot. If you think it'll help, I'll trust you"
"Lets hope I don't make you regret that decision." Malcolm said with a chuckle "That was a joke by the way."
Cam gave a half-hearted smile, "yea, I got that. Don't worry, I'm sure they've come up with some new drugs since the last time I tried this theropy"
"So the drug should have taken affect by now, do you feel like watching sappy movies or any odd cravings for Chocolate milk?" he asked hoping there weren't any side affects.
Cam shook his head, "nope, but I could go for a pint if you're buying"
Malcolm looked at the time on his PADD."Well you are my last appointment for the day, and a pint does sound good right about now. Why the hell not, I think were about done here anyway."
Cam nodded, "great, I'll meet you at the bar in say 20?"
"Sounds like a plan." Malcolm said with a smile
