Mission:
A Pirate's Life
Location: holodeck
[CONTINUED]
The holodeck controls were not responding in terms of allowing the crew to escape. Marek hit it a few times venting his frustration and sometimes it worked on other things but not this time.
Marek discovered something odd when he managed to calm down. It seemed that things could still be added into the program; he thought it a good thing he should tell the others.
The Romulan made his way through the crew, both holographic and real to Samantha York. "Commodore!" He announced loudly to get her attention.
Sam turned from coordinating the attack to answer Marek "What is it?" she asked.
A cannonball flew overhead, missing the two by several inches. Apparently they, too, heard Marek call her Commodore.
"Return fire! Take out that canon!" Sam ordered.
====
Amarylis struck another man in the head with the hilt of her sword sending him stumbling to the deck. Her attention turned to the boom of a nearby cannon watching as the projectile nearly struck Sam and a romulan.
She promptly marched over to the team of deckhands working to reload the cannon for the next shot. "Oh boys....you might wanna rethink what you are about to do."
The three men smiled licking their lips as they drew their swords and turned to Amarylis.
"Now you're just being ignorant." she said raising her cutless to them.
The three continued to advance on Amarylis. This was going to be easy.
Kara feinted to the left and lunged again, piercing her opponent in the side. He dropped his sword to cover the wound. "Bast..."
"Not a nice thing to say to a lady," Kara said, grinning. This was more fun than a sparring match.
Another seaman swung at Kara, slicing her across her left shoulder. Blood began to run down her arm and she had to fight to keep from dropping her cutlass. She hadn't expected it to hurt so much. Until that moment, she'd forgotten that there was a problem with the safeties. So much for having fun. She turned to the man and began to fight in earnest.
-------------------------------------------------------
Malcolm remained a board their ship at the helm watching the battle clutching his sword hoping he didn't have to use it as well as ducking whenever he heard a cannon go off. A noise caught his attention and he turned around at the exact moment someone from the other ship shot a flintlock pistol at him, striking him in the bum. "Ahhhh!" he screamed as the sudden pain dropped him to the floor. he wasn't entirely sure where he got hit at first but them he began to feel around until he felt the pain again in a more localized spot. At first he was afraid to get hit again, then he got mad, then he cried a little bit from the pain and called for his mommy again, then he got again and slowly stood up trying not to agitate his wound, then adrenaline kicked in."You shot me in the butt!!" he yelled at whoever the assailant was though he wasn't quite sure who it was. He grabbed a flintlock pistol he found just lying around and made sure it was primed to shoot. He walked over to the edge and fire a shot, striking one of the enemy sailors down. He then ducked down, reloaded and shot again hitting someone in the leg. He continued doing this trying to help out as much as he could without stirring up more pain. As far as he and his symbiont were concerned. Nobody shot them in the butt and got away with it. Nobody.

Kara ran her opponent through and looked for the Captain of the ship. The quickest way to end this battle was to force a surrender.
Cam was off towards the stern of the ship, fighting off two large sailors. He was getting the best out of his Marine Corp training, Sailors of this time weren't overly well trained but they were physically strong from their manual labor.
Kara found the first mate and kicked him hard enough to drip him to his knees. "Surrender or die."
The man rolled onto his side, curling into a tight ball. All he could manage was to nod his head.
"I'll take that as a yes," Kara said. "Stay out of my way and I"ll let you live."
Cam smiled, "I think you're enjoying this too much Kara"
"Enjoying, yes," Kara admitted. "Too much? Not yet."

Another shot came close to Sam and Marek. "So, what did you find?" she asked, running to a safer position. With the safeties messed up, she didn't want to get hurt or killed by a cannon. Damon would never let her hear the end of it. He would likely not let her go on the holodeck without him, either. Not that she'd mind the later. She far preferred having him with her whenever she could. It wouldn't do her crew any good, either. Especially as she knew this program better than any of them.
"We need to get through this battle and make it to shore," Sam informed him. "Do you know anything that can help?"
"I found that we can actually add to the program using the holodeck's user interface." Marek reported. "It could be useful if we need ammo, other weapons or equipment."
"Good to know. Once we get out of this fight, we need to come up with a way to use that to get out of here. Or stay alive until someone on the outside can fix the holodeck."
====
Sam grabbed a rope attached to the rigging and used it to swing across to the Man-O-War. Might as well get this battle over with so they could figure out how to end the program.
She found the Captain of the other ship and jumped, using the rope to land near him. She quickly fought off two men, wounding both so they could no longer fight.
As she stood before the Captain she smiled. "I'm Kate the Cursed. Surrender now and you and your men live."
Cam, Kara and Amarylis had cornered a number of the crew. Sam smiled at the British commander. "From what I can see, you're at a distinct disadvantage. Surrender now, give me your treasure, and I will leave you and your crew alive. I will also leave you enough supplies to survive until you're rescued. Do we have a deal?"
The Captain looked around at his crew and slowly nodded. "We surrender."
Kate's crew cheered. "Wise choice."
[Later]
Sam stood at the helm and watched the Man-O-War disappear into the horizon. That went far better than she'd expected. Fortunately for all of them. "Take us to Sparrow's Cove, best speed."
"Aye, ma'am, best speed," Johnny replied, turning to order the crew up the rigging to hoist the sails.
Sam turned to Marek. "As soon as we make camp, find a way to get us out of here."
