ON

They set camp quickly and quietly, wanting to be ready in case anything came upon them while they were otherwise occupied.

When they were done, Ronnie took her tricorder and went to the water to check it out. "It's safe to drink," she announced. Then, across the water, she saw another ghostly glow. She lifted the tricorder and scanned the area. What was it? Where did it come from?

After setting up his small tent, Cam looked around at the others and noticed Ronnie standing off by herself scanning something with her tricorder. Picking up his rifle, he walked over to her, "something up?" He asked, looking over her shoulder at the tricorders display.

"Yeah. Do you see that light over there?" she asked.

Looking over to where she was pointing, Cam was confused, "no, what light?" He said, flipping down his helmets HUD visor, "I don't see anything strange. Just your standard rock formations"

Amarylis raised her shotgun to her shoulder in the direction indicated by Bourne.

Just as Cam flipped his Visor back up, the light suddenly reappeared, "oh, you meen that light?" He said, pointing in a different direction to Ronnie

She turned quickly. The image had reappeared at the other end of the lake. "Yeah. That one. It's odd. It doesn't quite scan as a life form, but it does register as some form of living energy. It's quite odd."

"Any idea what it could be? Some sort of interdimentional lifeform?"

"Maybe. I wish I could get closer. Touch one," Ronnie said, watching the entity disappear into the stone once again. She looked down at the readings on her tricorder. "Interesting. It's both here and not here."

"You honestly think touching it is the best idea sir? Usually most people tend not to touch things they know nothing about....but you are in command here...." Amarylis said with a hint of sarcasm.

Ronnie looked at Amarylis. "Scientists touch things."

"Do you think it could be a threat? I don't want to loose anyone down here if we can help it" Cam asked, looking from place to place as the light continued to jump from place to place.

"It hasn't made any hostile overtures. Nor has it done much of anything, so I don't think so. But that doesn't mean I want to ignore it. Keep your eyes out. See if there's any sort of pattern. Is it going to the same places? If there's a pattern, then we can see if the cause is area-specific." She looked down at the tricorder again. "If I wasn't getting some sort of life form readings, I'd consider it a chemical reaction." She looked around again. The cavern was still empty of ghostly images.

After a quick moment prossessing the situation, Cam started to click his fingers, "come on come on" he said to himself, trying to remember something. Suddenly it hit him, "oh that's right. Lieutenant, what would you think about trapping one of those lights in a force field so we can get a better look at it?"

Doctor Hart paid no attention to Ronnie Lancaster and Cameron Bourne as he was busy with setting up the tent. He looked over at the new medical officer, "are the supplies been counted for, Ensign?" Then, something popped behind his left ear and he rubbed it, knowing that he has a locator chip implanted there, which was starting to itch. He frowned as he hoped that nothing happened. If he was lost, the ship would be able to find him as well as the team with him.

"Yes sir, everything's here." Mandy replied, glad to finally have the chance to feel useful.

Ronnie thought about Cam's suggestion for a moment. "If we could find the right type of containment, it might work. What exactly do you have in mind?" It would be great if they could get up close and personal with one of those entities, find out what it was and perhaps where it came from.

Damion stepped through the entrance the team came through. He walked in quietly, handing back behind the others and listening to the conversation. "How you gonna catching something that isn't all here?" He took a few more steps toward Ronnie and the others. "If anyone asks, I am not here. I'm avoiding a psych evaluation."

Ronnie raised an eyebrow. "I don't think that will work very well." She grinned impishly. "You may have to be confined to quarters for a while." Then she grew serious again and answered his question. "It depends on the type of containment field. There's enough of it here to hold, if we're careful."

"I'll just break out. Wouldn't be the first time." Damion replied as he took a step closer to Ronnie, looking at the ghost like object in front of them. "When you do that, maybe you can try turning water to wine and walking on water." He laughed softly and then crossed his arms over his chest. "I got an idea. Lets just leave it alone. Ever notice how when Starfleet messes with something they don't know, bad things tend to happen?"

Amarylis shook her head as the two were joking around when a possible threat lay before them. This is how people die she thought to herself.
