A little spy

Mission: The Enemy Within: Lying in Wait
Location: Borg Base (Under sand)

Ruby Shapiro opened her eyes and looked around. She was tied down to a green table in some sort of circular room. All she could remember were the flashing lights around her, the explosions and then the violent shaking of the ship as it plummeted towards the planet below.

"Hello?" she called out. At the age of seven she was scared and alone. She didn't know who had tied her down. "Mummy?" she asked. "Daddy?" she asked again trying to get a closer view of her surroundings. Three shadows emerged from a doorway and stepped closer.
"Ruby Shapiro. You have been selected" a rough voice echoed throughout the room. Ruby didn't like the voices and tears ran down her cheeks.
"Help Mummy!" she cried. "Help daddy!"

Then two of the people stopped at the table. Ruby gasped. She recognised the face of her mother, and that of her father. However they were different. They had no hair, they looked gray and pipes were coming out of their head. Each one had an eye missing, instead a red device sticking out with various flashing lights and contraptions.
"Do not be scared Ruby" the voice said. "You will be assimilated and used as a reconnaissance and infiltration drone" the voice explained.

"A what?" Ruby asked still crying slightly. "I don't want to. I want mummy!" she cried. She looked down to see what was once her mother grab the bottom of her pink shirt.
"For you to be of use. You shall have to look human. Therefore a different type of assimilation is required" the voice explained. The drone gently rolled up Ruby's shirt and stopped at her rib cage.
"What are you doing?" Ruby asked confused and scared.
"To conceal the assimilation puncture wounds. We shall inject nano-probes in an area which is already concealed" the voice explained. Ruby didn't understand what was going to happen. However she screamed as she saw two tube like implants shoot out of her father's hand.

He brought them down closer and they shot into Ruby's belly button. Ruby screamed as she felt them cutting quickly through her skin. Then she started to feel weak and dizzy. People were talking in her mind and she could start to hear what they were saying.
"What... are... you... doing...?" She cried as the voices began to get louder and louder.
"We are Borg. You are now Borg" the voices said.
"Welcome to the collective. You're new designation is 1 of 1, of uni-matrix 'infiltration'" the voices said. Ruby found herself repeating these words. In her mind she was could see the life draining away, she could see the assimilation tubules in her belly button and slowly she could feel herself being turned into a Borg.
