Mission: Subjugation

[CONTINUED]

[OLD]

Sam couldn't help grinning at the two. She was going to threaten to not go to the bridge at all if she couldn't go with Damon. Fortunately, it looked like she wouldn't have to do that. She helped Damon off the bed and slipped an arm around him. He was quite capable of walking by himself, but she was taking advantage of the moment. "Let's go."

They followed Gibbs out of sickbay and to the bridge.

[NEW]

---===Blackheart Bridge===---

As Gibbs, York, and Raine stepped out of the Romulan style turbolift, Sam felt a familiar mind in her presence. Although she had already anticipated who it would be, there was no one on the unfamiliar bridge she seen before. Each character looked more gruesome then the next.

A Gorn pirate tapped away at a console as he growled and looked up toward the figure in the Captain's chair. "Captain. The prisoners are gathered in the cargo bay as ordered. Switching to audio only." The Gorn looked down at the console and hit a few buttons as the main screen switched to a view of the cargo bay.

The figure at the Captain's chair let out a slight growl as he pushed himself off the seat and stood up in a long fur coat. Immediately, the small monkey Kirk jumped off the arm of the chair and onto his shoulder, letting out a screech. The man crossed his arms over his chest and let out a loud growl before starting to speak. "Prisoners and Employee's of the Syndicate! My name is Captain Thayne Kilgore of the Blackheart and I am offering you all a means to make use of your expendable lives." He let out a laugh as he looked around and stopped as his eyes met Sam's.

Kilgore let out a devilish smile as he looked back to the view screen. He saw the Pirate Guards storm the cargo bay with weapons draw and trained on the occupants. "Don't be afraid. My friends here are just to ensure that you are all trustworthy enough to enlist your lives to the Blackheart. If you choose not to stay onboard then I will be happy to send you back to the planet, with our respects and gratitude for your time. You have one hour to decide." Kilgore looked over to the Gorn officer and nodded his head as the transmission cut, leaving only the image of the Cargo Bay full of the Blackheart's guests

He looked over to Sam and Damon, clearing his throat as he held his usual smile. Thayne was smart enough to improve on blocking his thoughts and emotions. It was difficult, but only small things seemed to seep out, leaving the bigger things hidden away behind his mental wall. "Welcome Captain York..." He narrowed his eyes slightly as he looked to Damon. "And Commander Raine. Glad you can join me on board my ship. Granted its not the same as the first one you encountered Samantha, but I can assure you that it wont be the last." He smirked as he opened his arms and looked around. It didn't take a telepath to know how he felt about Damon, but that wasn't his concern right now. He was more focused on doing his own business. "Please, join me in my ready room." Kilgore nodded as he walked away towards his ready room doors.

Sam squeezed Damon's hand. It was more to keep from telling the Pirate Captain what she thought of him than anything else. She still felt the strong need to respond to a threat she'd learned in the mines. In her mind she began to run through a Vulcan meditation chant as she and Damon followed Kilgore.

Damon only quickly looked over to Samantha, as if asking permission to kill this man. His protection instincts were at an all time high and he didn't know if he had the self control left in him to not act.

As they walked into the Ready Room, Kilgore could feel the hatred over his shoulder. Or maybe that was the monkey squeezing harder to stay on. Whatever the case, Kilgore wasn't intimidated. This was his game and right now he had the upper hand. "Would you care for something to drink? It took a while to get a few decent bottles of alcohol here, although it was amusing to watch half my crew cringe when they had only Romulan Ale to wet their whistle."

Damon only shook his head.

Alcohol would NOT be a good idea at this point. Sam needed her wits about her -- and her control. "No, thank you. I would like to know why we're here and how you got us off the planet."

"Now Samantha." Kilgore replied as he poured himself a glass and turned around. He leaned against the cart as he crossed his arms over his chest. "You know very well that I won't reveal that type of information. That would ruin the whole mystery of it." He let out a slight laugh and then took a sip of his drink. He tilted his head slightly, feeling Sam pushing to get past his barrier. "I feel you, York." He tapped his finger to his forehead and then brought it back down again. "I feel you fishing for more information. Digging in there in an attempt to find out more about why your here before I get the change to tell you. Now don't ruin the surprise." Kilgore looked over to Damon as he took another sip. "Does she do that often? Ruin a good surprise by digging into your head?"

Damon smiled coldly, not appreciating the poke at their relationship. "She has her methods of getting information. Mine are sadly more primal. Digging is involved though."

"And that I can respect." Kilgore replied as he walked slowly over to them, swirling the alcohol in his drink a little as he approached them. "Your see there is a lot to be said about gathering information through time and skill as apposed to invading someone's thoughts and privacy." He tilted his head a little as he looked Damon up and down a bit before continuing. "Your sure you wouldn't rather be in sickbay? Is it the Doctor? I know he can be pushy and annoying, but when he is given the right incentive he is a magician at his job."
