[OLD]

"And that I can respect." Kilgore replied as he walked slowly over to them, swirling the alcohol in his drink a little as he approached them. "Your see there is a lot to be said about gathering information through time and skill as apposed to invading someone's thoughts and privacy." He tilted his head a little as he looked Damon up and down a bit before continuing. "Your sure you wouldn't rather be in sickbay? Is it the Doctor? I know he can be pushy and annoying, but when he is given the right incentive he is a magician at his job."

[NEW]

"A bit more small talk and I can assure you that a doctor will be necessary. Get to the point; I'm not one for playing games right now."

Neither was Sam. She began to take a menta evaluation of what weapons had been removed and what she might still have on her person.

"Such hostility for someone who has saved your lives." Kilgore smirked as he walked away from them, tapping his nail against his glass. "But you're right Commander Raine, now is not the time for games. You two have been through a remarkable ordeal. Suffering the harsh mines, the prisons, the treatments." He sat down behind his desk and placed his glass on the desk. "Of course being without each other might have been a large ordeal also. Wouldn't you agree?" He leaned back slightly, eyeballing the both of them before continuing. "No more games. I saved your lives and I can ensure your safety back to Federation space. My only terms are that, in the near future, you will be in my debt."

And there it was. The reason for his benevolent behavior. "Meaning?" she asked, her tone colder than before. She wasn't sure why Kilgore made her fight or flight instinct kick into high gear. She didn't trust him and she didn't like him. But he had taken them out of the mines. Saved their lives was debatable. The two were on their way out to join the rest of her crew, so there was every chance they would have saved themselves, but she would concede that point. For now.

Sam held fast to Damon's hand and used some of her Vulcan training to calm herself. It would do none of them any good if she lost her temper.

"Meaning, My dear Samantha, that when I need you for something. It is in your debt to me to provide what I ask." Kilgore leaned back in his chair with a devilish smile on his face as he picked up his glass and slowly looked at it. "Because Murder is frowned upon in Starfleet, regardless of the circumstance. I take it that Starfleet Command won't look to well on hearing about the bodies you two have left in your wake, especially bodies who hold certain standing in certain allied worlds." He paused to take a drink, for dramatic effect. Slowly he put down the glass and smiled as he looked at them. "Surely, you didn't think every prisoner in the mines was a criminal? Political prisoners... Prisoners of war... Escaped refugees. All of which have been there for far longer then you two have. They have just become more acclimated to their new way of life."

Sam's eyes flashed. Did he honestly believe that Starfleet personnel were never in a position to kill? "I make no promises, except that I'll listen to your request. If it's reasonable and not illegal or immoral, I will most likely comply. Other than that, I make no promises." She raised her head and stared at him for several moments. "And I promise not to shoot you before I hear you out."

"I could always order Telrick to put the IED back in Damon and put back the damage to his eye." Kilgore put the glass back down onto his desk, causing a loud thud against the wood. "I will have no problem putting him back into a situation where he could easily die! You own me Samantha. I am not the kind of man for games and I always collect in my debts, as well as ensure my own are paid in full. Although I am a tyrant. A pirate. A villain. I am still a man of my word. After all, I could have easily left you two in the condition you were found in, couldn't I?"

Sam folded her arms across her chest and stared defiantly at Kilgore. He didn't hold all the cards and she wasn't going to be intimidated. "If you really want to work something out, you'll stop making threats."

Damon had had enough. He didn't care at this point that his life was being threatened, but the fact that Samantha's was at risk was too much. "This ends." He said a moment before he lunged at Kilgore.

Kilgore looked up quickly, catching a glimpse of Damon lungeing at him. The looked of determination and anger is what impressed him the most. Here was a man who couldn't walk in on his own two feet and he was still insistent on fighting. He had a bit of bravery, but it was also mixed in with a hint of pride and stubbornness. Kilgore admired it, but he still wouldn't stand for it.

Since Damon was weak enough as it is, Kilgore didn't have to use much strength to overpower him. A simple side step and extended arm, He grabbed him as he passed and wrapped his arm around his neck. His forearm tightened around Damon's neck as he used his free hand to remove his Klingon Disruptor from his belt. He had no intention of killing him, but the act would have felt all the more sweeter.

"Impressive, Raines! You have a warriors heart and determination, but you lack the brains to react by strategy and not by anger." Kilgore flipped the button that switches the disruptor from Kill to Stun, a setting he rarely used and often forgot was there. "Consider this my last gift to you. Your life." With that he kicked him forward, holding out his Disruptor and firing a single burst to his back. The power from the blast, combined with Damons velocity, sent him hurtling into the drink tray.
