Sam glared at Hur'Rak. "Back off." She slowly moved her hand to where her knife hid, careful not to draw attention to her action.
Hur'Rak laughed, ending it in a devilish smile. "Make me!"
[NEW]
Sam neatly sidestepped him to get into the tent. "On the contrary. It is you who does not know your place. Ronnie is my friend. She's also under my protection. Let her go."
"You are the one that needs protection. Boys!" Hur'Rak yelled as he held the knife to Ronnies throat.
Damn Damion thought as he saw the others running toward the tent. He let out a slight sigh and then ran out just as they all passed, so they wouldn't have seen where he came from. They burst into the tent and grabbed York, pushing her out and tossed her to the ground. Damion stood out of it, feeling the need to react and help York and Ronnie, but knowing it wasn't his place.
"One last chance, York. Go back to your own sector!" Hur'Rak yelled and then looked over to Damion, smiling evily. "Or I'll have my muscle take care of you."
Sam got up and brushed herself off. She let out a low whistle. "I don't think so, Hur'Rak. You may not remember this, but you messed with the sister of one of the guards last week. He can't take matters into his own hand, but he gave me carte blanche. And weapons."
A dozen armed men appeared behind the others, grinning.
Hur'Rak looked around quickly. He was slightly nervous, but didn't seemed to show it. He dug the tip of the blade into Ronnie's neck. "I still take her with me and then you still lose, you think about that!"
Damion slowly started to walk forward, brushing past the others in Hur'Rak's group. He looked at Sam from the shadow of his hood and then spoke softly. "Your going to want to walk away now." His voice was back to the emotionless one, but his mind was flooded with confusion. He couldn't make sense of anything right now. All he knew was two things. One, he wanted to make sure no one got hurt and two, he had the sudden urge to kill Hur'Rak.
Sam knew the man was telepathic. And there was something familiar about him, but his mind was so full of confusion she couldn't find the real person behind the chaos. I won't leave Ronnie behind she said telepathically.
She glared at Hur'Rak. "Let her go and you might get out alive. Try and take her and I promise you, I'll kill you myself."
I understand Damion responded telepathically as he looked around again. "I'll give you five seconds to lower your weapons and walk away." He said as he looked around again and slowly held his arms out.
One of the armed men approached Damion, gun held high and trained on him. "Let her go, Hur'Rak."
"Back away from me." Damion said softly.
"I'll give you five seconds to let her go." The man yelled out as he approached a little more.
"I'll give you two to get that gun out of my face." Damion replied again growing more and more irritated with the man who was approaching.
The man got closer and closer until the weapon was trained on Damion's face. "Release the girl or-"
Damion finally reacted. He swung his arm up and took a hold of the weapon. His mind was trained on hurting the man, but not killing him. He didn't like weapons trained at his head, especially when he wasn't the one being spoken to. He kick the man in the stomach and then spun around, going into a round house kick. The kick would spin the man around in place. Damion pulled back his hood and then removed two Klingon Disruptors from under his long coat and drew them out toward the other armed men. He moved the disruptors from one person to another and then finally trained them both on York. "Call them off." He said softly and calmly as he looked over to York.
Damion. It wasn't a question. Sam recognized her Chief Intelligence Officer. She also recognized that he wasn't himself. "No. Not unless you call off Hur'Rak and he lets Ronnie go. I'm not leaving anyone behind." She mentally included Damion in that statement. She wasn't sure what was wrong with him, but she'd vowed to herself that she was going to find EVERY member of her crew and take them home.
She pulled out a small sonic disruptor. "Don't try me, I'm not in the mood."
"Hesitation isn't always the best way to ensure confidence." Damion responded with a slight smirk. His eyes slowly wondered around the cave, marking every single member with a weapon. He mentally started to plot his never few actions in the case of a fire fight, but he would stop every time York or Ronnie was at risk. He couldn't see past either of them getting hurt.
"Kill them already, Johnny! I paid good money for a killer like you!" Hur'Rak yelled and then looked around, easing closer to his tent.
Killer He thought. I don't feel like a killer. I know I've killed, but not enough to be considered a killer or murderer. I feel it deep inside, but they say I'm a killer. Am I a killer. What am I? Damion looked at York and then around the cave again as he kept his steady hand trained on her and her alone. "Let her go, Hur'Rak."
"What?!! Are you kidding me?!!" Hur'Rak yelled as he looked at Damion in almost surprise and shock.
You're not a killer, Sam assured him. She didn't even try to hide the fact that she was picking up on his thoughts. It wasn't that hard as he was too confused to shield himself properly. You're actually one of us. You're one of the good guys.
To Hur'Rak she said, "He's smarter than you are. He knows when it's in his best interest to cut ties and run. You'd be wise to learn that lesson before it's too late." She looked at Ronnie and Hur'Rak and gaged how effective her sonic disruptor would be when put on a wide beam. It wouldn't kill anyone, but it would render both of them unconscious. A definite way to neutralize Hur'Rak and keep Ronnie alive. She aimed her weapon at him. "Last chance. Let her go."
Damion narrowed his eyes as he looked at the others around them. He saw it coming, he practically felt the trigger being pulled as he looked around. This was bound to be messy, there was no way to avoid it. One of the men York brought got a little trigger happy and fired without orders. A stream of seemed to flow passed the side of Damions face. He instinctive reaction was to leaned more to the left and hold on one disruptor in that direction. He wasn't going to killed anyone. He just needed to keep from being killed.
