Mission:
Subjugation
Location: Damion's Quarters on Von Braun
Timeline: On the Von Braun just before the attack
ON
Damion was in his quarters on the Von Braun. He managed to get set up with quarters that still allowed him to work in secret with Starfleet Intelligence. No worries with people intercepting his informations and what not. He was working on looking through the files that Vanya gave him. Damion was on his second cup of coffee and working hard at figuring this out before they got to the area where it vanished. One this was for sure. He didn't know what to expect, so he did the usual things he did before every mission. He wrote a letter to his sister and left it at the desk with orders to be sent upon his death.
Ronnie had been gathering information on three nebulae, an asteroid field and an anomalous dust cloud that may or may not have any bearing on the lost ships.
When she had all the data compiled, she headed for Damion's quarters and rang the door chime.
"Come in." Damion said before he took a sip of his coffee and then looked to the door from his PADD. He wasn't expecting any company, but he knew it had to be important because not that many people were informed what quarters her was in.
Ronnie walked in and handed Damion a PADD. "Here's my report."
"I never asked you for one." He said softly as he took the PADD and then put it down. "Sit down, please." Damion got up and walked over to the Replicator. "Milkshake again?" He asked as he hit the console and then waited for her response. It was good that she dropped by. He figured it would be a good time to talk to her about what happened between them and Vanya. He felt like he needed to explain some things that he might have left out but implied.
"You asked for help. This is the best I could do," she said, sitting down on the couch. "Yeah. Make it vanilla."
"Vanilla Milkshake." Damion spoke into the Replicator, which began to work right after he finished. He turned around to Ronnie. "I asked you for help, but not a report. Thanks anyway." He said softly, turning back around and grabbing her milkshake.
He walked it over to her with a smile on his face, but no feelings behind it other then nerves. He put it down in front of her and then sat down next to her. Damion leaned back and grabbed his coffee, taking a sip of it as he looked to her. He took the cup away from his lips and then cleared his throat. "Uhh... About what happened. I think I need to clarify some stuff. Vanya and I... we never did anything with each other. Like I told you before, she has always been like a little sister to me. Keeping out the fact that she is always flirting, but she does that with everyone she works with."
Damion took another sip and then put it down on the table in front of them with the PADD's. "She and I have never and will never do anything with each other. Besides, from what she tells me she has it in for this other guy. I don't know who he is and I never asked, but all she has told me was that he has a reputation for breaking rules and breaking hearts. She flirts with me, she flirts with everyone, but with this guy she really means it. From what I can tell, with how she talks about him, Vanya really wants this guy in her life. She just doesn't know if he would be ready to settle down and commit."
Ronnie took a sip of her shake as she digested what he said. "She seemed to go out of her way to make me think you two..." She couldn't finish the sentence, so let it simply hang there.
"That's just Vanya being Vanya." Damion laughed a little. "Think of it as her way of judging how you are by your reaction. Her way of testing how much we mean to each other by throwing the monkey wrench into the gears and seeing it they stop or fight to keep going. Like a little sister she is just looking out for me. Just like I would do to her." He took a sip of his coffee and then smirked. "Thats probably why she hasn't given me that guys name yet." He laughed again, ending it with a smile before taking another sip.
"Acting like you're lovers is hardly what I'd call looking out for you," she said. She was slowly relenting, but she was still hesitant.
Damion sighed and looked at her. "Ronnie, believe me when I tell you that I love you and no one else." He said softly and then took a sip of his coffee. He couldn't believe he said it to her. Those three words that can change the whole world. He tried to hide his slight awkward feeling as he cleared his throat and then smiled at her.
Ronnie set her milkshake down. "You do?" She wasn't sure she heard him correctly. She didn't want to smile or tell him how she felt until she was sure -- she could very easily have simply WANTED to hear those words and he'd really said something else.
"I said." Damion cleared his thoat. "I love you, Lancaster." He let out a sigh of relief and then smiled at her. "I've felt it for a while now, but was too afraid to bring it up in case you didn't feel the same way. I wasn't sure if I should have waited for you to say it, but now that I have, I'm happy I said it."
"I was afraid you didn't feel the same way I did," she admitted. "Especially with Vanya. I thought you wanted to get back with her." She gave him a hesitant smile. "I love you, too."
Damion smiled and then laughed a slightly nervous laugh. "No.. Vanya is someone I watch out for and get intel from. She hooks me up with files, resources, identities for missions and what now." He moved a little closer to her on the couch. "Her great intel and detailed backgrounds is part of the reason why I am talking to you right now."
"She is?" she asked. Now that Vanya wasn't a threat, Ronnie was willing to hear more about her.
Damion nodded. "Her backgrounds are legend in Starfleet Intelligence. She gives you everything from a profile to a birth certificate. No background check has even been proven false or risked an agents life. You might like her, you know if you give her a chance."
