Mission: The Race for the Lost Treasure
Location: Arboretum

ON

The arboretum was decorated for Christmas with tiny lights in the trees lining the main pathways. Mistletoe and holly hung in clusters along the tops of doors. The large central tree was decorated with animatronic birds and bells. Everything was set for the staff Christmas party.

Items symbolizing other December celebrations dotted the room. A menorah, a holly bush, a number of other items.

Each holodeck was set up with a different holiday theme to allow everyone a chance to celebrate. The senior staff and assistants were invited to the arboretum for a party.

A table full of sandwiches, drinks, desserts and snacks for the crew.

It had been days since Desiana had done much other then work and spending minimal time with Tovan. Christmas was not a holiday she had celebrated growing up as a Betazoid, but she feel in love the celebration while at the academy. More then a small part of her was excited about tonight's festivities.

Levue entered, with Daniels. They were arguing. "I tell you, The Muppet Christmas carol is a complete, and total disrespectful destruction of Dickens' book." Levue insisted.

"Well, it was a great movie, and, in my opinion, still, the best version of Christmas carol out there." Daniels retorted. "You can't beat the Muppets cast."

"But there was only supposed to be one Marley. Not Marley brothers." Levue countered.

"Oh, be quiet, you literature fiend." Daniels muttered.

Sam tried not to chuckle at the argument. "You should add Scrooge, the classic Alister Sim version and the Patrick Stewart version. There's also a musical The Christmas Carol, too. They have to be a factored in along with the Muppets. Although for pure Muppet pleasure you can't rule out Muppet Treasure Island."

Daniels shook his head. Levue simply shrugged.

Noelle had learned to combine the two cultures that she found herself in. She observed the Islamic holidays and also participated in the festivities of the other cultures and religions. On this occasion, she walked into the arboretum wearing a loose fitting top with loose fitting pants made of linen and sandals on her feet. She took in the atmosphere and smiled as she greeted the others that she knew and enjoyed the decorations.

"Hello, Lieutenant. Welcome," Sam said.

Noelle nodded at Sam "Thank you Captain." She said

Leo wasn't far behind, in a pair of black khaki's, and a loose grey shirt. A new pair of boots adorned his feet, polished, with a bow on each toe. He didn't seem happy about the bows, but wanted them on there in case who ever sent the present decided to comment. Then action would be taken. "But the Marley Brothers add more to the story, and you can't forget the Bill Murray classic 'Scrooged'. Or Miracle on what ever street that is, the classic 1960's and the remake in 2007." Why not add to the chaos, it would give them something to think about after all.

"Miracle on 34th Street," Sam interjected. "I love the original. Although one of my absolute favorite Christmas movies has to be White Christmas. Hello, Leo. You're looking much better. Welcome."

Ronnie followed behind Leo. "Hi, Sam -- Captain."

"Sam, please. We're off-duty. Hi, Ronnie. How are you doing?"

"Good. I have high hopes for the new year," Ronnie grinned.

Sam grinned back. "Me, too."

Leo couldn't help but smile. New years always seemed to bring the best in people, until they forgot their resolutions. "I'm feeling better, thank you Ma'am. Who laid out the spread?" Leo looked it over and smiled. "Give me a couple of hours, and I'll have something no holiday is ever without. My family learned it from an Italian family, and they never celebrated without it."

"And what is it?" she asked.

"Baked Ziti and Lasagna, full of meat, cheese and tomato sauce," Leo said with a smile. "And authentic Italian bread. Or boiled lobster with a butter sauce and fetechini alfredo in a white wine sauce."

Noelle looked at Leo "We can bring food?" She asked surprised "I have a crock full of Maqbous that I could bring." She said.

Levue and Daniels both, looked upon Leo, like he was a heathen.

"Kermit can't be Bob Cratchet." Levue insisted.

"Can too!" Daniels insisted.

"I have to agree with Ensign Daniels," San said, trying to keep the peace. "Leo, that sounds like a great tradition."

Leo nodded and started to leave the party. He was going to cook, and if the party just happened to be over, then he'd enjoy the fruits of his labors. He didn't often cook and needed to talk to the Captain and Engineering about a range and oven in his already tight quarters. When he had been bumped up to CO, he didn't want to pack and unpack in Damons old room, so he listed it for who ever in the Senior Staff wanted it. Stepping towards the doors, he was stopped by someone calling his name.

Desiana watched as the room began to fill. A smile crossed her face as she over heard the conversations going on around her. She scanned the crowd once again looking for Tovan. Her eyes fell upon to Marine CO she had met earlier in her time on board the Calypso. "Captain Mangalia, glad to see you outside of your quarters." She flashed him a smile as she moved towards him.

Leo looked over and smiled. "Dezzy, you look nice. To what do we owe the pleasure of your company tonight?"

"I love Christmas." Dezzy replied simply. A smile spread across her lips from Leo's complement. "Well I love the parties and the celebration anyways...Where are you off too?"

"My Quarters, I didn't know I could bring grub so I didn't make any. I'm off to rectify that right now. If you want to drop by, I'll be cooking for the next two or so hours."

Desiana let out a small laugh. She had heard rumors of the Captain's love of non-replicated food and drink. "I just might take you up on that." She said with a smile.

Damion walked into the Arboretum, dressed all good and smelling like a million strips of gold-pressed latinum. He had a small wrapped box tucked into his jacket. He paused after entering and looked around all everyone that was there so far. He took in a breath and then closed his mind off so as not to accidentally sense anyones feelings or emotions.

Ronnie was wandering through the trees, admiring the lights and decorations. She loved the arboertum and the lights turned it into a magical place.

Leanne entered the room. The doctor was wearing black khaki pants and a blue shirt made out of silk with long sleeves. Around her neck was a gold necklace with a caduceus, a symbol for medical. Her long hair laid around her shoulders and her bangs were a little puffed up. In her hands was a small present. Her purpose was to give a gift to the Captain as she has never given her one for Christmas. It was never a mandatory thing, but she felt that the Captain has become more than a Captain to her, but as a good friend. As soon as she found Samantha, she walked over to her with a smile. "Hello and Merry Christmas, Sam," she said as she handed her the present, wrapped in a shiny red wrapping paper with a gold bow on top.

"Thank you!" Sam said, giving the doctor a hug. "Merry Christmas! You look lovely tonight."

She returned her hug. "Thank you...you look nice as well." The doctor took a look around the room as she didn't noticed the food when she came in. "Smells like Christmas in the air," she said.

Sam grinned. "That's the idea."

The doctor nodded as she smiled. "Well, I'm going to get some food," she said.
