On Doctor Bowen's monitor, a Starfleet Medical Insigna appeared, and several beeping sounds were heard. She entered her identification until the screen changed to a female's face with a Bajoran nose appearance.
"Commander...Doctor Ketash," Leanne said.
"Doctor Bowen, I assume?" The Bajoran doctor asked with a slight smile.
"Yes, I have notify the Medical Department on CIP - Congenital Insensitivity to Pain. I have a crewmember that has this disorder and I'm trying to get information on the trial case."
Ketash nodded her head as she glanced down at something on her desk. She looked up at her without any indications on her face if there was good or bad news. "The study is still ongoing as we have 3 people who have volunteered. It is still in progress, but we don't have any results on the outcome of the case, yet. We do have a daily report of the progress as it goes along."
"Oh, okay. Mind if I have a report on the ongoing studies to see how it is progressing?"
"I can only send you a few reports. Is there anything else you need?" Ketash asked.
"No, ma'am. I greatly appreciate to receive the reports...Bowen out."
"Your welcome." The screen changed to a memo that was uploading the report.
Leanne had the information transferred to her PADD so that she can read it anywhere. She plans to share the reports to Doctor Valdez as he requested to do the surgery of the new implant for Noelle Ghassan, when it gets approved. The doctor hopes that the trial will come to an end and that the good results will be the final to allow others to receive the implant. Unfortunately, the Captain will have to know what is going on, if Noelle has or has not reported it to her about this rare disorder. She hopes that this implant will allow her to freely continue to be a marine officer and to not worry about being a liability to herself.
