Stran arrived in the transporter room, early. He had his gear, mostly vegetarian field rations, and phaser power packs, packed. He pondered how Wexler would react to Stran's shoulder-holstered Phaser rifle, or his hip-mounted phaser. He came to the conclussion that the response 'take it up with Lieutenant Junior Grade Tramira' would suffice as an explanation.

Wexler indeed shook his head as Stran entered, toting the weapons. For his part, Wexler had decided he was not going to carry a weapon and no instructions from some half-wit sniveling junior grade lieutenant was going to change his mind. "I want you to keep a distance from me. Preferably ten yards to the rear."

"So that I will be unable to defend you from sniper attacking, as needed?" Stran asked, with a quirked eyebrow. "Very well. If your lack of concern, for your own well-being is that overrated, I'm certain the Counselor will appreciate raised security, for herself."

"They wouldn't ask us here just to shoot me. It's irrational." Preston continued to shake his head in disbelief.

''Because everything that happens in Starfleet is always completly rational.'' Erin said breezily, arriving in the transporter room, unarmed.
As the ships councellor, she didnt want to give off any hostile appearances. However having a phaser or two on the team wouldn't hurt.
''It's a good idea, Stran.'' She added, nodding to the weapons. ''Two unarmed, a securtiy officer armed.. it makes sense and donates a peaceful composure while not coming across as weak-willed pushovers.''
She stepped up on one of the transporting pads.

"I'm glad you approve, lady counselor." Stran said, nodding.

"I'm glad you have the experience of negotiating with and understanding other cultures as well as you do. It makes my being here superfluous. Which means I'll be more than happy to have them shoot you first. Since they of course are likely to be shooting." Preston rolled his eyes. These fleet people were morons.

"I remind you, Lieutenant Commander Wexler, that I am armed." Stran noted, dryly, in a fair imitation of Kyt's voice. "How was that?" He asked Erin.

Preston continued to shake his head. "You're a bit dense aren't you." Wexler paused. "Dropped on your head?"

Stran looked down. Apparently, his attempts at humor, at least, the parts he had learned, observing Kyt, and Daniels, were unwelcome. He remained quiet.

Erin gave Stran a nudge. ''Dont mind him.'' She said quietly. ''I thought it was funny. HE clearly just wasn't hugged enough as a child.'' She shot the commander a vaugly sarcastic smile.

"I could believe that." Stran noted, dryly. "I am not certain even a parent could love such an individual."

Erin closed her eyes for a few seconds and forced down a bout of laughter. As hilarious as that was, she had a nasty feeling that they'd be dead they even left then transporter room at this rate.

''Not that I dont agree with you...'' She said reluctantly. ''But as Councellor I'm responsible for the teams mental health and othersuch matters, one being morale. So Commander, you're clearly not in love with us, and we could live our whole lives happily without a repeat of this incident, but how about for now we at least TRY to be civil? Diplomacy is best approached as a team. If they sense a crack in the ranks, it will be used against us.''

"You two follow orders, and we might not have a problem." Preston noted, playing the rank card.

"I answer to Lieutenant Junior Grade Kyt, who reports to the Captain. Lieutenant Junior Grade Tal reports to the Captain. Our positions, in this meeting, have been given to us, by senior officers. Perhaps it is You, who should remember the chain of authority, Lieutenant Commander, and focus on the task the Captain handed you." Stran retorted.

Preston actually laughed. "They gave you those orders because they THINK they know what they're doing. If you'll notice, Starfleet sent ME for a reason. As I said, stay back, and you'll avoid causing a scene."

Erin's eyes showed what she'd like to go as a reply, but her voice was calm.
''We'll follow orders, and you'll treat us with respect and decorum.'' She replied.
''Surely thats to our mutual advantages.''

"Repeat that attitude again, and I pass along the audio file I just made of your ego along to the Captain. Starfleet sent all of us for a reason, Lieutenant Commander. Should I say so, this mission can be classified as a security risk, and I can have it delayed, until a full psychological work-up is made, as to your well-being to be on this mission." Stran retorted. "I have the highest respect for Captain York, as does her crew. Insulting her, in this manner, will not serve your career well."

"Do it." Preston dared. "Do as you're told and we'll be fine."

Erin sighed. ''This mission is a security risk already.'' She muttered to herself.
''Keep in mind, i'd be the one reporting on your physcological state.'' She added cheerfully.
''Narcissism, a Controlling personality and a hyper-ego are just some of the things I can see from here. Now lets go.''

He nodded to Erin. He stepped up on to the transporter buffer.

Preston looked to the Transporter Officer. "Energize..."

----------------------

The team materialized in a large chamber, of the main government building.

"Greetings. I'm Third Assistant Triam Wilsh." The man greeting them said, nodding. "This way, to the main briefing room, please."

Erin nodded back. ''Greetings.'' She repeated. ''I'm Leiutenant Tal, theese are my asscosiates Ensign Stran and Lt. Commander Wexler.''
She followed the man with the others, looking around, taking in windows, security, exits and inhabitants. It was handy information to know.

Stran refrained from comment. He watched the Third Assistant, carefully, gauging muscular tone, probability of concealed weaponry, and a general threat assessment. He decided the man was armed with a hip-pistol, but would be long fallen, before he actually drew it.

Preston allowed Lieutenant Tal to do as she saw fit, but he wasn't much interested in the lower level assistants. And as Wexler saw Tal as a low level assistant, it was perfectly fine for him to let her doing the talking... for now.
