Noelle had put this off for as long as possible but she needed to get the physical out of the way before they started hunting her down. She knew that her previous posting had sent her medical files over and she wondered how the medical staff here would handle the situation. It required caution but nothing extrodinary. She still needed to tell Leo about this but that would wait until he was feeling better.

Noelle walked into Sickbay and looked around for the CMO before walking over to her office and ringing the chime. Standing with her hands behind her back at a loose attention, she waited for the CMO to answer.

"Come in," Doctor Bowen said loudly in her office.

Noelle walked into the office "2nd Lt Noelle Ghassan reporting for a boarding physical." Noelle said crisply, her accent noticable but not extremely over powering. She took in the CMO's office as she did with everything and then turned her attention to the Chief Medical Officer.

Leanne looked up from her desk at the woman that entered her office. She took in that the woman has black hair and black eyes, as well as a strange skin color. "Can I help you?"

"I need to get my physical." Noelle said "I also need to discuss some medical condition with you." She said "It's just something that needs to be monitored." Noelle said still standing at attention. "If you need me to come back later I can." She said.

The doctor leaned back in her chair to give the person her divided attention. "We can discuss it now...I have time."

Noelle nodded "I have a condition called Congential Pain Insensitivity." She said carefully "My brain doesn't register pain like it should so I often don't know that I've been injured." Noelle explained looking the CMO in the eye, "the Marines cleared me for duty and I am just very careful when I am in various situations. But you need to be aware of it."

Leanne gave it a minute to think of her situation. "That's very rare. I think Starfleet Medical has done an experiment on one patient that was similar. It's very dangerous to be a marine in that condition. I'm surprised they cleared you for that as I would not have approved that. But, in the mean time, there is a device they have made for this particular patient that has a small implant imbedded into the brain that enhances the pain receptors. Would you like me to look into that by contacting Starfleet Medical?"

Noelle nodded "That might be helpful." She said "So far I've been lucky and not had any serious injuries that I didn't know about. The Battalion Surgeon made it an order that I report every five days for a physical. The higher ups didn't want it to seem that they were discriminating and the General approved it. So here I am." She said "I'm willing to try anything." She said her expression not changing.

"Okay, it will be a few days to weeks to research it and to figure a way to get this implant. In the mean time, I agree with every five days for a physical." She stood up and walked past her, "Follow me...let's get your physical done."

Noelle nodded "What would be entailed in placing this device?" She asked the doctor, her curiousity getting the better of her.

With Noelle behind her as she headed into the main sickbay, Leanne turned to look at her. "A careful surgery of about one to two hours. There is little or no side effect with this implant. I will have to read more on the documents that were written on the patient. It seems to me that it is a good one."

"Ok." Noelle said simply "If it works then I'm all for it." She said

Doctor Bowen stopped at the empty biobed, turning to look at her. "Have a seat or lay down."

Noelle sat down on the bed indicated and looked at the bio readings. She knew advanced first aid but not much beyond that. She looked at Bowen "Every five days is fine." She said.

Leanne picked up the tricorder and opened it to start scanning. After it beeped, she frowned as she read the diagnosis. For awhile, she did wondered why her skin color was olive and thought that she was of another species. Her DNA was full-bloodied human. "Well, I'm showing that you some scar tissues of healing fractures and bruises. Know about these?"

Noelle looked at Bowen "No ma'am. I played some basketball with my brothers before I left to come here. I don't remember falling or getting hit hard." She said "I did some PT and running. But again nothing that would have broken anything." She said shrugging "I can look back at my activity record for the last few weeks and see if I can find anything that may have caused them." Noelle offered.

"Don't worry about trying to find out what it was that caused it. Next time, you need to be more careful," She picked up a hypospray from a near-by tray as she set down the tricorder, "I will give you some medicine to clear it up faster as it looks to be slow."

"Yes ma'am." Noelle said "I guess I never really asked if slow healing was a part of this condition. I think my parents asked but I don't remember if they ever told me." She said

The doctor gave her an injection and disposed the empty vial from the hypospray. "Well, at least you will come back in a few days for a checkup. Well, everything else looks good. You are set to go..."

"Thank you." Noelle said as she hopped off the bed "I'll see you in a few days." She said and headed out of Sickbay and back to her office.

"No problem," she said as she watched Noelle leaving sickbay.
