Location: Various
Timeline: Current

[Shuttlecraft]

Leanne took a deep breath as she left Jupiter Station and entered the shuttlecraft with her two duffel bags. She had left USS Pasteur a week ago with orders to fill a new ship with a new title. Worked as an Assistant Chief Medical Officer for a year, Leanne was ready to enter a new career that would give her more challenges and expand her expertise. She hoped that being a Chief Medical Officer will give her many opportunities to do so.

"Ma'am, we are approaching the cargo bay," the pilot said.

She broke away from her thoughts to watch as they approached the new ship and into the entrance of the bay that holds the shuttlecrafts. Earlier, they had to take the shuttlecraft because the transporters were down for repairs on Jupiter Station.

"Good...continue on."

[USS Orion]

After they landed and the shuttlecraft door opened, a young technician greeted her as he took her bags when she walked out. "I will be your guide, ma'am. Welcome aboard USS Orion. You must be Doctor Bowen, our Chief Medical Officer."

"Yes, I am."

"Please follow me."

Leanne thanked her pilot and followed the young man. She left the cargo bay into the corridor and took a deep breath. She was smelling the air, taking in how new the ship smells.

"Smells brand new," the man said.

"Yes. I have never been on a new ship before," she said as she continues to follow him, glancing at the walls and the carpeted floors. Very, very clean. "Two ships that I have served on were old or nearly old. Not this kind of smell."

He chuckles, "Right." He moved to the side to let her get in the turbolift first and he went in, carrying her two bags in his one hand. "Deck, sickbay."

"Did you serve on other ships?"

"No, ma'am. I'm fresh out of school for the enlisted. I want to be an operations officer some day."

She nodded her head as she felt the a slight movement of the turbolift, "That's good." Four years of the academy and nearly 3 years of medical school for me. Lots of training in many subjects.

When the doors opened, he put his hand out as a gesture for her to go first. "Sickbay is down this corridor, ma'am."

[Sickbay]

After they entered the infirmary, she watched the technician set her bags down on a biobed and glanced around. "Brand new too. You don't have to stay here...I can use the computer if I get lost."

"Yes, ma'am. It's nice to meet you."

"Same here. Good luck, I'm sure out paths will cross, crewman."

She watched him leave and decided to check out her office. Leanne wants to get a few things on her new desk like a picture of her parents. She checked out the tidy place and sat in the chair to feel the comfort. Leaning back, she placed her legs on top of the desk and closed her eyes for a minute. My desk, my office...

Her thoughts were broken when she heard someone walked in. She immediately pulled her legs off the desk and stood up. "Yes?"

A lady came in with a smile, putting her hand out as she approached the desk. "I'm Nurse Jaynes. You must be the new Chief Medical Officer."

She put her hand out, "Nice to meet you...Petty officer. I'm Doctor Leanne Bowen." She seems nice. Seeing that she has straighten her back to stand attention, she waved the air, "At ease. Have a seat...I want to get to know you."

"Same here."
