Now that they were underway, there were a few matters of business Sam needed to take care of. The first was talking to Lieutenant Tovan.

"York to Tovan. Can you meet me in my ready room, please?"

"On my way Captain." Tovan responded. A couple of minutes he was at the door leading to the ready room. He chimed the door and when he was given permission to enter he did so. "Lieutenant Tovan reporting Captain." He stated as he stepped deeper into the ready room.

"Have a seat, Lieutenant," Sam said. "Can I get you something to drink?"

Tovan took a seat in one of the empty chairs. "No, thank you."

Sam nodded, acknowledging his words. "So, what is your take on Turkana IV?"

"Hmm...it's an interesting place. It has reminded me a great deal of Earth. The conflict here on Turkana IV can be related to conflicts that have taken place throughout the history of Earth. Just like people on Earth after World War III had a lot of potential so do these people here if they can only put their differences aside and work together towards a brighter future. "

"Maybe the situation with the Union and the mind controlling devices will be turning point in their history." Delon sighed. "Only time will tell."

"I wish they were more open to help, but until they are, there's little we can do." She looked at him keenly for a moment. "And what of Madam Onasi?"

"I'm sure when their ready they will know how to reach us." Telon stated. He paused after that as the next question came. He wasn't sure what she expected to hear from him concerning Lumiya. "Well, Madam Onasi is a strong woman that wants the best for her people. But she is also stubborn. She doesn't trust the Coalition, but then again they don't trust her. She might be open to compromise but doesn't want to appear weak in front of her people. It's complicated."

"The Grand Marshal doesn't trust anyone. I hope they can work things out. I was wondering about you and her personally. You seemed to... connect."

"I suppose that's one way of putting it Captain." Delon leaned back slightly in the chair. "I'm not exactly sure why but she took a certain liking to me. There is a shield there that not many seem to get through. She puts up a front. She has to look strong in front of everyone around her and I suppose with me she could put that shield down. I was a strange from another world. I was there only for a brief moment."

Tovan sighed. "I guess she just needed to connect with someone even if it was for a brief moment. I suppose she was lonely."

"I'm sorry." For both of them. "Well, that's not the reason I called for you." She pulled a small box out of her desk. "For your excellent service to Starfleet and the Calypso." She handed him the box containing one black pip.

"That's life, I suppose." Delon smiled at the Captain, then looked at her with a puzzled look as he took the box. He opened the box to find one hollow pin in it then looked up at the Captain. It was a promotion. "Thank you Captain." She said with another smile as he looked down at the pin again.

"It's well-earned. Commander." She grinned. "You did a fine job on this last mission. I'm glad you're a part of my crew. Congratulations."

"Thank you Captain." Tovan said as he looked up with a grin on his face.

"You are very welcome."

He grabbed the hollow pin out of the box and took a moment to look at it before placing it next to the two full pins on his collar already.

"That's all I need from you," she said. "Is there anything you need?"

Delon stood up from the chair as he heard her say that she had nothing else for him. He shook his head. "No Captain, nothing at the moment but I know where to find you if I do."

Sam stood as well. "Very good. Thank you, Commander."
