Mission:
Peace, or Something Like It
Location: Marine Conference Room
Timeline: Current

Leo sat alone in the Marine conference room, about to call in the next batch of people. He didn't care if he had any part in the operation at all or not, but he wanted to get everything that happened with his men squared away. -^-Lieutenants Jaxara, Daniels, Tovan and Major Raine could you come to the Marine Briefing area when you're able to?-^- Putting together several padds, he began one that would record everything that was said, another for his own notes, and the rest were for the others to write down anything they wanted.
After passing them out around the table, he smiled and sat back in the chair, closing his eyes. It had been a long couple of days, if it hadn't been weeks. He wasn't used to running off no sleep, but the adrenaline had been fun while it lasted.
Kyt entered the room, shaking her head. Daniels turned, expecting to see Jaxara. "The Lieutenant?"
Kyt shook her head. "He will not be able to attend." She said softly.
Delon was very busy but the call sounded urgent so he rushed down to the Marine briefing area as he entered he noted Kyt in the room. He nodded to her than looked over to Lieutenant Mangalia. "You called?"
Leo opened his eyes and nodded to each person in turn. "You guys'll find out what this is about when everyone gets here. If there's something more important Delon, you can go at any time."
Delon raised an eye brow. "I'll stay."
Sam let Damon walk in first, then followed, taking a seat next to him.
Kyt approached Damon, and handed him a PADD. "I would like to speak to you about that after the meeting."
"About what?" Damon asked with a shake of his head as he accepted the PADD. He figured he would have to wait for an explanation later. He then turned to his XO "Make it quick Leo, I'm only giving you a few minutes."
Sam knew what was on the PaDD, but said nothing. "Commander Tovan, how are you doing?"
Kyt nodded to Damon. "After the meeting, Major. It's not quite the place, or time, and 1st Lieutenant Mangalia has yet to explain precisely what we are doing here, despite being asked."
Leo looked at all of them. "I had planned this to be a mass debriefing. Instead of us all typing out what happened to us while the Captain was gone, this could alleviate some problems." Rubbing his eyes with his thumb and finger he looked around and stood up. "Like I don't have a clue what happened with my men that went down with the Second Officer, and why I have a Corporal in the brig that no one seems to know about."
"Corporal Shintaku asked to speak to me. We'll find out more when she's awake," Sam said. "As for the debriefing, I appreciate it. There's a lot I need to get caught up on."
Kyt cleared her throat. "The men and women who went down planet," She said with a scowl. "were rather overzealous, in regards to neutralizing the civilians on the planet's interior surface. While the mission of finding the Commanding Officer, and the Grand Marshall was obtained, it would appear that the marine compliment could do with a good dose of less-than-lethal combat training. Civilian casualties are estimated at 4 dead, several seriously injured. Marine casualties were next to non-existent. One Marine noted that he stubbed his toe on the tripod, and broke it. His toe. Not the tripod. Starfleet Casualties are singular. One Lieutenant Lorne Jaxara, listed as the Chief Security and Tactical Officer."
She put the Lieutenant's pips on the table, where Leo could see them. This was only the second time she had let them out of her possession. "So there's your reason for not knowing why your Corporal is in the brig, 1st Lieutenant. There is no Chief Security and Tactical Officer present to file the required paperwork. I believe the sluggishness of the Security department's paperwork is forgivable, as the Chief Security Officer is deceased, and the Master-at-arms is incarcerated, though, I may be overstepping my bounds here."
She cleared her throat again. "Sir." She added, as an after thought.
"Less than lethal," Leo said with a shake of his head. "Do you have confirmed kills, or are they accidental kills? Gunnery Sergeant, Marines don't do less than lethal very well, for the simple fact that when we do, it gets us more than lethal answers." Looking at the Gunnery Sergeant, and to the pips, Leo shook his head. "I'm sorry about your Lieutenant, but I didn't really know her so I'm not going to say anything about her."
"Him. Lieutenant Jaxara was a male." Delon stated looking at Lt. Mangalia from the other side of the table. "The away team that involved both Starfleet personnel and Marine personnel was instructed to set their weapons on stun. This was a civilian target as far as we knew at the time of the mission, so there was not to be any use of lethal force."
"If you don't mind clarifying something for me Lieutenant, I was under the impression that the Marines were experts at their occupations, that they didn't accidently kill people and also that they followed orders of the superior officers. Am I wrong for assuming this?" Delon asked.
Kyt looked at Damon. She refrained from commenting, and simply nodded, implying that this was probably a better question for Damon to answer.
This was the first Damon had heard about the second teams exploits and he was more than a little dismayed about hearing about this now. "Careful Delon, I resent the implication that the Calypso's Marines are in some way deficient. This falls on the Marine in charge of the mission, not the entire group."
Damon then turned to face Tramira. "I'm disappointed, by the way, at your reaction to all of this. You were the ranking Marine on this mission and although you weren't in charge, you still could have put an end to this before it got out of hand. Additionally, it was your responsibility to inform either the Lieutenant or I about the Marine in the brig, not security." Damon continued with a further deepening frown. "As for your recommendation regarding a training regiment for the Marine's; you are way out of line, Gunnery Sergeant. I'll have words with you later about it."
"I'll need a complete report on what happened at the civilian complex, Delon. I want to know who fired first and why no one deemed it necessary to stop them." Damon leaned heavily against his chair and folded his arms.
