Mission: Peace, or Something Like It
Location: Various
Timeline: Current

ON

Chichire was scanning the complex and any new on what was happing inside then with out even realizing it the building that she could not see in was visible she started to scan it just in time to see people being beamed out.

Well marines we did it the commander is safe now she should be on the Calypso right about now

-^-Calypso this is sniper one can you please beam us up and transport me to the medical bay I'm in need of immediate medical care over-^-

She looked over too who was left good job men. Now can you help me up I can hardly stand up I think the knife in my back did a lot more damage then I thought I know can hardly do anything but one thing at a time just to keep from passing out."

Leo, having stepped onto the bridge to find his Superior, heard the call and tapped his badge. -^-Acknowledged Corporal. You're on your way home soon.-^- Looking over he shook his head to Damon. "I'll be in Sickbay looking over the Corporal. When you learn something, let me know will ya?"

Damon nodded "I can probably do that for you Leo. Get yourself cleaned up in the meantime. I'll be expecting a full report in the morning in addition to the mission debriefing."

[Sickbay]

Leroy walked into sickbay, and watched as the transporter beam dropped the wounded Corporal onto a bio-bed. "Medical Emergancy! I have a bleeding Marine on Biobed Three!" Stepping back as nurses and the doctor rushed forward, he tapped his badge. -^-Lieutenant Mangalia to the Marine Away teams. Meet up in the briefing hall. I'll be there once I know Corporal Chichire is alright.-^- Leo could see the blood pooling under the woman, who was laying on her back. Cussing softly, he wanted to do something to help, but the Doctor was already moving.

Doctor Jason Hart grabbed the equipment that he needed, just as he heard the transporter materialized the woman on the biobed. He started his scans immediately while the nurses removed some of his clothes where the wound is. "No, the wound is not in her lower abdomen...it's her back!" He said to the nurses. "We need to turn her over." He glanced at Leroy, "You can come around here and talk to her."

After the nurses moved her body to her left side, Jason went around and grabbed some gloves to put on his hands. He picked up a shear and cut through her uniform where the hole is. "I assume this is a knife wound."

Leo did as the Doctor asked and knelt low to the Corporal. "Hey, stick in there, no pun intended Corporal. We need you around here alright? I want you to start telling me what happened down there."

"If I can last 3 hours with the wound, walk 500 or so meters and still snip enemy's I think I can wait another hour or less she said with a grin". Then almost pasted out from the pain that flared up again.

The tricorder indicated some serious damage. "We need to get her into surgery, now!" He looked over at the marine, "the knife has cut a part of the spinal cord in the middle of her back and it has caused paralysis in her lower extremities. We need to get that fixed right away. Also, the knife hit a major vein, but it missed the heart. We will do the best we can to patch her up...you might want to wait outside."

Leroy looked up, fear on his face. "The briefing can wait then Corporal. You get in there, and get better." Standing he walked backwards, watching the doctors work. Spinning, he slammed his fist into the wall, growling away the pain. Grabbing one of the nurses he looked like a child. "Keep me informed of her progress. If it starts to go down hill, I need to know immediately. If it goes for the better, then page me." Turning, he walked out of Sickbay and cradled his hand to his stomach, ignoring the pain. Getting to the Marine Hall, he walked into the room and looked around. "Report."

The nurses immediately put large gauze to her back and prepped her for surgery as they moved her into the area off to one said of sickbay. They gave her some injections to put her to sleep as well as pain medications. They removed most of the clothing and put surgery sheets over her body, except for the back, which is exposed. The nurses kept the patient on her side.

Doctor Hart paged Doctor Bowen to immediately come to sickbay, while he changed into a surgical gown with new pair of gloves and a mask.

It didn't take long for the Chief Medical Officer to show up. Leanne walked into the room and dressed up for the surgery. She stood by him, "What do we have here?" She inspected the lady's bare back with a two inch incision.

"Knife wound...it sliced near the 6th thoracic vertebrae and there is a partial tear of the spinal cord in that area. Besides this, the knife sliced a quarter of the thoracic vein. She was lucky that it didn't touch her heart," Jason said through his mask.

"Alright," Doctor Bowen said as she looked over at Nurse Tarango. "Give the patient a bolus of O-negative blood...she is going to need a few pints to replace the loss." She positioned herself on a stool. "Let's get started so we can save her spinal cord," Leanne said as she picked up the scapel and made an incision to widen the hole.

Doctor Hart picked up an instrument, slides it into the hole to heal the major vein to get it to stop bleeding while Doctor Bowen works with an instrument for the spinal cord.

After thirty minutes went by, Doctor Bowen closed up the wound and sealed it with the dermal regenerator. "Good work." She stood up and pulled her gloves, mask, and gown off to dispose it in the biohazard container. "Keep me updated on her condition...monitor her vitals every 10 to 15 minutes, nurse."

"Yes, ma'am," Nurse Tarango said.

Jason disposed the used equipment and removed his gloves, mask, and gown. "Yes, good work. Working on the spinal cord can be a little tricky," he said.

"Yes, it can be. Just keep me informed of her condition. I'll be in my office," Leanne said as she removed herself from the surgery room.

Doctor Hart looked at the nurse that wasn't in surgery with them, "Is the Lieutenant still here? Is he outside the doors?"

"No, sir. I will contact him...is she going to be okay?" Nurse Jaynes asked.

"She is stable for now. I'll let him know, just go check on that patient and let Doctor Bowen know that I left to give a message."
