There was chaos on the grounds of the Research Outpost. All of the guards were rushing out of the buildings to see what was happening. The alarm began to go off. Ghost sprinted for the building in which Anastasia worked in. As he was reaching the door two guards stepped out. He brought the weapon up and opened fire. It took only two shoots and the guards fell to the ground.

Civilians began rushing out of the building. He pushed his way past them. He had stopped a few people asking if they had seen Anastasia but they said that the guards came and took her away. He immediately thought that she might have been in the building which he just blew up.

He asked the person where they took her and they informed him that there was a security room on the third floor that's where they would have taken her.

Ghost sprinted down the hallway and up the stairs to the next floor. There were two guards in the hallway. They saw him and opened fire at him. He ducked behind a wall. They kept firing until their magazines ran out that's when he took his chance and stepped out from hiding. He fired at the guards and both collapsed to the ground. The same routine followed on the second floor.

Next he reached the third floor. He looked around the corner and there were at least five guards at this point waiting for him. He pulled out a smoke grenade that he had gotten from the armory. He tossed it and waited for it to go off. It didn't take long for the hall way to fill up with smoke.

He moved through the smoke eliminating all of the guards that were guarding the door. He went for the door but it was locked. He shot the door knob off and pushed the door open. Anastasia was sitting behind a table in hand cuffs.

When he saw her he dropped his guard for a second and it allowed for the guard in hiding to put a gun to his head. He was told to drop his weapon so he did. The guard went to radio for help and Ghost saw this as his chance and decided to act. He hit the guard in the side with his elbow. The guard fell backwards a bit and Ghost didn't give him a chance to get his balance back but used the other gun to shoot the guard. The guard fell to the ground.

Ghost looked over at Anastasia who had her head on the table. He stepped next to her.

"Wake up..." He gently whispered to her. He shook her lightly.

She began to come too.

"Come on, we got to go..."

"What's happening....?" Anastasia asked.

"I will explain everything later but right now we got to go..." Ghost responded.

"Go where...?"

"Away from here." Ghost said as he helped her up to her feet. He undid the hand cuffs and looked at her "Do you know how to shoot one of these?" He asked as he handed her a gun.

She looked at him and nodded.

"Good, now stay close to me." Ghost said.

The two of them left the security office and headed down the corridor. They used the stairs to get down to the next floor. Ghost didn't see any guards which was good. They were all probably busy with the other building which was on fire now. They researched the main level without a problem.

They headed away from the main entrance. Ghost noticed a snowmobile parked outside the building right by a window. He looked to Anastasia and she nodded to him. Ghost broke the window and both of them climbed out. There was plenty of gas in the snowmobile but no keys. Anastasia pushed him aside and she decided to hot wire the snowmobile. It turned on.

Ghost took the front seat and she sat behind him grabbing onto him. He brought it around to the front of the building. Almost everyone was focused on the burning building which almost allowed them to sneak away unseen but that didn't happen. A few people noticed them and brought it to the attention of the guards.

In matter of seconds there were three snowmobiles behind them shooting at the snowmobile.

"Here..." Ghost handed her an MP90. "Shoot them."

Anastasia grabbed it front him. She held onto him tightly as he broke through the front gate of the complex and headed down a road that lead away from the village and the complex.

Anastasia turned around and began shooting at the chasing snowmobiles. She managed to hit one of them. Now there were only two of them after them.

"I don't know where I am going..." Ghost called back to Anastasia.

"Just stay on the road." Anastasia called back to him. "There is a cave now far from here. I have a little surprise for you."

"Oh, how I love surprises...." Ghost chuckled.

Anastasia had turned back around and began shooting again. She mostly missed but somehow one of the bullets hit the gunner on one of the snowmobiles. The gunner jerked and as he did he shoot the other snowmobile. So now they were down to one. Well it was really down to half of one.

"Take a right here..." Anastasia ordered from the back as she watched the snowmobile that was chasing them fall behind.

Ghost did as she told him and took a right. It was a more dense area of trees but he managed to maneuver through them. Soon enough they were at the bottom of a cliff. Ghost brought the snowmobile to a stop and looked at her.
"What now...?"

"Now you follow me." Anastasia said as she got off the snowmobile. She approached the cliff side and began feeling for something then all of a sudden there was a noise. A hatch in the ground opened.

"I thought you said there was a cave not a tunnel."

"It is a cave." Anastasia responded and dropped down into an opening in the ground. Ghost looked around and saw no one following them so he dropped in and closed the hatch behind them.

Anastasia lead him down a short tunnel and they found themselves in a wide open cave. He could hear running water.

"Underground river?"

"Yes, and I have a boat for us all ready."

"You are my hero yet again." Ghost smile.

"No, we are even now. You saved me back there." Anastasia responded. She tossed the weapon to the side and walked up to the boat that was tied up to the shore.

"Nice boat..." Ghost said looking at it.

"It's just something I managed to scavenge a while back." Anastasia said as she moved inside the boat. "Come on. We need to get out of here."

"Alright. I'm coming." Ghost responded as he climbed into the boat.

Ghost untied the boat while Anastasia took the helm. She turned them around and started down the river. Ghost stood next to her watching as the lights on the boat came on to shine their way down the dark path. Anastasia looked to him with a smile. "That was a close one..."

"No kidding. But at least we managed to capture APRIL."

"So you did get her?" Anastasia asked.

Ghost nodded. "I did, but she wouldn't tell me where the weapon was."

"Don't worry; HQ will get it out of her."

"We'll see...."

Anastasia pressed a button or two on the keypad and turned to Ghost. She smiled at him grabbing him by his hand and pulling him towards the back of the boat.

"Where are we going?" Ghost asked as he allowed himself to be pulled along.

Anastasia looked at him with a grin. "I'm going to show you just how grateful I am for saving my life." She winked at him as she bit down on her bottom lip.

Ghost smiled and followed. He liked where this was going.
