The next day at the appointed time Ghost headed to the front gate. He approached the gate like he was supposed to be there. He was dressed in the uniform that Anastasia had provided for him and he also carried the identification card she had given him.
"Identification Card....?" The guard out front asked.
Ghost looked at him as he showed him the card. The guard pointed down to a reader that was located in front. "Oh! My bad. First day." Ghost chuckled lightly as he allowed the reader to scan the card. It was taking a bit of time. He hoped that everything was alright.
After a couple of seconds the guard nodded to him. "Welcome aboard. Head to the Administration building, they will be expecting you."
"Ugh...which building is that?" Ghost asked. He played dumb.
"I'll show him." There was a female voice that came from behind the guard. It was a voice that he knew. It was the voice of Anastasia. "I'm heading there anyway."
The guard turned around and smiled. "Well hello there Anastasia. You are looking good as always."
She smiled at the guard. "And you are as charming as always."
"What can I say...?" The guard responded.
"And you are modest as well." Anastasia teased and waved to Ghost. "
"Thanks for taking him up to the building. You've saved me from having to explain it to him." Guard said." I will have to treat you to a drink one of these days."
"You know what I like." She responded with a wink and started walking along side of Ghost. "I will show you to the Administration building but then I will have to return to work. From there you are on your own."
"Don't worry about me. I am use to working alone." Ghost responded.
The two of them stayed silent for the rest of the walk. Anastasia walked him up to the Admin building and the two of them parted their ways. The building where APRIL was staying was across the way but he first needed to make a little stop.
The stepped into the Administration building and headed down the stairs. It was where the security office was located and also the armory. He needed weapons. The hallway was poorly light so he slowly began walking down it. The armory was at the end of the hallway. He had passed a couple of doors but they were all closed.
As he continued down the hallway he could make out voices coming from an office with a cracked door. He sneaked up to the door and leaned on the wall.
"We have received intelligence that there might be a spy in the complex."
"Do you have any idea who it is?"
"Yes, we have a pretty good idea of who it might be."
"What do you want to do about it?"
"Let's watch her for now. There might be others in here with her. If we alert them that we know about them they might not make their move."
"Do you expect trouble?"
"I always expect trouble. I have been in this job long enough to know when something is about to go down and I have a feeling that this is one of those days."
"I hope you are wrong."
"As do I but I am rarely wrong about such things."
"So, who is the spy?"
"Anastasia."
"I was hoping you wouldn't say that."
I know. Post a team to monitor her. She might try to contact others. We also need to know what she has been doing in the past 48 hours."
"Understood. I did see her with a man last night in the pub. I had never seen this man before."
"Track him down. He could be working with her."
"Will do."
"You're dismissed."
Ghost quickly moved into the shadows as the man from the office walked past him. It was looking like they were onto them. Ghost had to act quickly before the security force in the complex decided to make their move. He hurried down the hallway. The door to the armory was locked. He smiled to himself. This was going to give him a chance to use his other set of skills.
He ended up picking the lock and slipped inside the armory. He grabbed a bullet proof vest and put it on under his coat. He grabbed couple of Desert Eagle guns with magazines. He also found an MP90. He grabbed some ammo for that as well.
As he was leaving he managed to grab few smoke grandees then left the armory. He wondered back down the corridor past the office with the cracked door and back up the stairs. There wasn't anyone around really as it was really late. Most people had gone home for the evening. At least from the Administration building.
He found his way back to the entrance of the building. There was one more stop he had to make before slipping into the building where APRIL was staying. He needed to locate the extraction system.
He put his hands in his pockets and walked from the Admin building across to the other building. He wondered along side it and to the back. On occasion he would look around but mostly kept his head down as he wondered to the back. Once he was in the back he approached a clearing. He looked around feeling with his feet he found the system. He looked up towards the room. A grin of his face as he hurried back around the building towards the entrance. He had been looking forward to this day for a long time.
