Ghost headed out of the pub after paying for the drinks. He headed down the main street. He looked down at the paper in hand. He had seen that street name when they first arrived in the village. The walk was short as he turned left at the street and headed down. The house that he was looking for was the last one on the street. He walked up to the door and knock on it.
From the inside he could hear footsteps then someone fiddling with the lock and finally the door opening. It was an older woman who stood in the door way. She smiled at him. "You must be Dr. Munro. Ana told me that you would be stopping by. Please come in."
Ghost entered into the house. Once again he took a glance at his surroundings. The older woman motioned for him to head down the hallway and he did. She managed to get in front of him and stop at a closed door.
She looked up at him for a moment than opened the door. Inside the opened door was a bathroom. Ghost looked at her with a puzzled look on his face. She just smiled and stepped inside. She motioned for him to come in. He hesitated at first but did it anyway. She closed the door and pressed a tile on the bathroom wall. There was as if something just opened.
"Please, open it." The older lady said as she pointed to the ground. There was a handle sticking out from one of the tiles. Ghost grabbed the handle and opened it. There was a slight cold breeze that came from the hole. There was a latter and nothing else he could make out. It was pitch black.
"Head down and follow the tunnel to the end. There will be a good. The person you are looking for will be waiting for you there." The old woman explained and handed him a flash light.
Ghost nodded. He grabbed the flash light and headed down the latter. The hole behind him closed. He turned on the flash light. He flashed it around. It was a tunnel that he couldn't see an end too. He didn't have a choice but follow it.
Ghost walked down the long tunnel. He passed a latter or two along his journey but did as he was told. He headed for the door that the old lady had told him about.
After about five minute walk he came up to a steel door. There was a keypad along with a scanner next to it. He had seen those before at the HQ. He pressed his thumb on the scanner and after a few seconds the sound of the door echoed in the tunnel. He pushed it open.
Inside was a room at least 20 meters by 20 meters. To the left side of him there was a motorcycle parked along with three snowmobiles. One of them he recognized as one that Anastasia had been riding. To the left of him were lockers. In front of him was yet another door.
He closed the door from which he had just entered and headed towards the door. He headed for the other door. When he reached it he opened and he found himself in a hallway. There were two doors in there. One on each side of the wall. The one of the left was open and he could see light from what he assumed computer screens. He stepped into the hallway and approached the door. He poked his head around the corner and noticed a person sitting in a chair.
He stepped in the clear view. "I assume you are Eve."
The chair turned around and it was Anastasia sitting in the chair. She smiled at him. "You can call me that if you would like or Anastasia. It's really up to you Ghost."
Ghost smiled at her. "I like what you have done with the place."
"I'm glad that you do." She said as she got up from her seat. "Please follow me."
Anastasia lead him over to a screen that was located on the wall. "I assume most details concerning this operation haven't been told to you?"
"That's correct. I was told that all information concerning the operation will be relieved to me once I made contact with you." Ghost responded.
"In that case let's start from the beginning." Anastasia said as she clicked a couple of buttons on the keyboard located below the screen.
"Two months ago agent by the name of APRIL hijacked a mobile weapon known as GUNDAM. Since then HQ has been trying to track down APRIL but they haven't had much luck until three days ago when intelligence was received that she would be coming to a research outpost located in Russia." The screen changed a picture of the outpost appeared on the screen.
"As you can tell the outpost in question is the one you were observing earlier. At first we were unsure to why she has decided to come out of hiding now however we have learned that a top secret meeting will be held at the outpost in the next few days. They have invited some of the best minds in weapons industry to this meeting. You can probably figure out what their discussion topic will be." Anastasia looked to him.
Ghost nodded. "So, the weapon itself is not here?"
Anastasia shook her head. "No, it's not. We still haven't been able to locate the weapon but if we can capture APRIL, we might be able to get the information out of her."
"If they are going to force the information out of her I doubt that she will talk. She was trained by us. She knows how to resist torture." Ghost said.
"I don't know what they are thinking all I know is that I am to provide you with support during this mission." Anastasia shrugged.
"So, how do we plan on taking her?" Ghost asked.
"First we need to get you inside. They had discussed possibly having you dress up as one of the experts but that would be too high profiled. Instead I am going to help you get inside disgusted as a new employee at the research outpost. We don't need to disguise to work long term. Just long enough for you to get through the front gate." Anastasia pressed a button again and the screen changed to that of the front gate.
She looked at the desk across the room. "I have your uniform and your ID card that you will need in order to get into the outpost." She turned to face him. "You can't bring any weapons in with you so everything you will need you will have to get on site."
"I understand. I am use to that." Ghost said.
"Good." She turned back to the screen. "Once you get inside you will be able to access these three buildings with the ID I have provided you with. The access is not high enough for you to get into these other two but if I am correct you will not need it. From what I have been able to gather APRIL will be staying in this building which you have access to."
"How are we going to extract her?" Ghost asked.
"Well, my job is to get you in the extraction is up to you." Anastasia said with a smile as she looked at him.
"You are kidding right?" Ghost asked.
"Of course I am." She winked at him. "You will use a parachute extraction system which I have hidden inside the outpost. Basically when you are ready to leave you will press a button a parachute will shoot up with a signal at the end of it a plant will fly in and hook onto the parachute and carry you away."
"Sounds dangerous..." Ghost stated.
Anastasia looked at him. "From what I have heard you enjoy living the dangerous life so it shouldn't be much of a problem for you."
"I believe you have been informed correctly."
"I thought so. APRIL will arrive tomorrow afternoon to the outpost. We will carry out the mission tomorrow evening. There are less people around the outpost at that time. So there will be a less of a chance of you being spotted. And a better chance that she will be in her room."
Ghost nodded.
"So get as much rest as you need tonight and tomorrow as you will need it." Anastasia said. She turned off the screen. "I have a laptop for you to use so you can study up on the outpost." She walked over to the table and picked it up. "Come, I will show you to your room."
Ghost nodded and followed her out the door. She led him into the door across from the room in which they were just in. There was another hallway with two doors on one side and one on the other. She led him to the furthest door and opened it. She turned on the lights. It was a bedroom with a bed, a work desk and a chair. There was also a closet.
Anastasia walked over to the desk putting the laptop down. "It's not much to look at but it will allow you to get some rest."
"It's perfect." Ghost responded.
"You have a strange definition of perfection."Anastasia said with a grin on her face. She leaned on the desk looking at him as he examined the room.
Ghost smiled at Anastasia. She returned the smile to him and leaned off the desk.
"Get some rest. I will come get you when it's time."
Ghost nodded. He watched as Anastasia left the room and closed the door behind herself. She turned to the laptop. There was much he needed to learn about the place before heading in so he grabbed the laptop and sat down on the bed.
