"So, do we have a deal?" Helen asked.
Maxwell looked over at her as the road of his engine starting echoed in the surrounding area around them. His head lights came on and he smirked. "You're on Major." He turned the bike around and got back on the road.
"I thought I told you to call me Helen." She yelled at him as she turned her own bike around and raced to catch up to him so they could start their little race.

[USS Salvation - Holodeck]
Maxwell had debate allowing her to win the race but he full well knew that both of them were competitors and that neither of them wanted or liked to lose. Plus, the excuse that she is a woman didn't here. They were both Marines. So he decided to look at it like any other race. It didn't matter to him who was behind the wheel.
It didn't take Helen long to catch up to him. She looked over at him with a grin on her face. She was going to win this and make him buy her a drink. And if she suspected that he was going easy on her she would make sure to hurt him in their next sparring session.
Both of them made eye contact with each other. They did a silent count in their head to three and then they were off. Helen's bike was lighter and she weighed less than Maxwell so her bike accelerated faster than Maxwell's. She knew that his bike was more powerful but she told herself if she could beam him on the start that she would count of her skills to maneuver around the corners to make sure that he comes in second.
Maxwell watched as she went past him. He had suspected as much but he wasn't worried there would be time to make up the difference. It was 5 kilometers to the Sunset Caf.
The first stretch of the road which was approximately 3 kilometers was very curvy. They found themselves accelerating than breaking over and over as they maneuvered around the corners. For this part of the road Helen was in total control. Her lighter bike was easier to move around the corners and she had managed to get between 75 to 100 meters away from Maxwell.
It was slightly frustrating to see her ahead of him by that much but he was fully confident in his abilities and his bike. The next stretch of the road was a straight away for at least kilometer and half which he would be able to gain a lot of ground on her. It was to his advantage. And as they entered the stretch of the road Maxwell pushed his bike harder.
The powerful bike picked up speed like no other and by the time they were in the last half of kilometer he was neck to neck with her. In the first corner she had the inner track, but in the next corner he was on the inner track. They stayed neck to neck as the lights of the city came into view. Both of them pushed it as fast as they could and as they crossed the city limits line they were both neck to neck. It was a tie but if you asked them both of them would say that they won.
Maxwell pushed his visor on the helmet and looked over at Helen. He was impressed with her riding ability. Not many have been able to beat him in a race. But this also wasn't the bike he used for such things. But he wasn't going to use that as an excuse. He didn't want to take away from her abilities.
Helen had pushed up her visor as well. "Well, it looks like we both own each other a drink." She chuckled as she turned into the Sunset Caf parking lot.
"I'm not so sure about that." Maxwell called out to her as they parked their bikes. "I think I came in first." He said taking off his helmet.
"You only wish Mr. Tate." Helen barked back. "I had at least an inch on you when we crossed the city limits."
"I had at least two inches on you." Maxwell responded. They headed into the caf. They continued their debate until they reached the bar.
"Like I said, we need to compromise and just buy each other a drink." Helen smiled as she rested her upper half on the bar looking at him.
"I think I can handle that. Helen." He responded.
"See, that wasn't so hard." She winked at him.
"The part where we compromise or the part where I call you by your first name?" Maxwell questioned as he looked at her.
"Both!" She responded.
Maxwell had noted that she was different than when she was on duty. In her uniform she was all business, but it seemed out of the uniform she was a friendly person that liked to have a fun time.
"I will have a Black Hole." Helen ordered than looked to Maxwell.
"Make it two." He added.
"Be careful Sergeant, it might be too strong for you." Helen teased.
"Don't worry, Major. I won't leave you here. I will make sure to carry you to your quarters." Maxwell responded.
"I don't remember inviting you to my quarters." She winked at him and grabbed her drink off the bar.
Maxwell was caught off guard by her comment. It might imply that something sexual in nature and he was worried that his words might have been taken the wrong way but this was Major Magnus and everything he had seen from her so far said that she was just teasing him, but he wanted to be sure that she knew that he was only teasing back. "I didn't mean it that way." He said as he grabbed the drink and followed her outside.
"Don't worry, Sergeant. The only person carrying someone to their quarters will be me carrying you when I drink you under the table." Helen said as she took a seat and a sip of her drink.
"We shall see about that." He smirked as he took a seat across from her and sipped his drink.
