Lieutenant Tovan leaned forward. He pressed a couple of different buttons on the console in front of him and the channel opened. He needed to inform Major Raine of the situation on the planet. He needed to know of the developments that were taking place in the Coalition territory. If things turned ugly the teams could be in danger. "Tovan to Major Raine..." He said then waited for a response.

"Raine here." Came the quick reply from the planet surface.

"Major, we have a situation developing in the Coalition territory. The Coalition Military has begun pulling back from their positions. We are unclear of what their motives are but they are taking anything of value with them including the civilians. It doesn't seem that these evacuations of civilians are being done by force either. " Delon stated.

Damon stood perplexed as he took in this new information. "Are they fortifying their rear positions?" He asked, trying to make sense of the odd move.

"Unclear at the moment, Major. We are continuing to monitor their movements and transmissions. However, that is proving to be extremely difficult. It seems that the Coalition has managed to find a way to broadcast their transmissions in such a way where no one should be able to detect them. But I don't think they planned on us snooping around their channels. We managed to find them but decoding them is proving to be extremely difficult even for our computers." Delon paused for a moment.

"We did have a break in their transmissions for a few moments. It seems that the Council has removed Galin Hurs from command. He is second in command after the Grand Marshall. The military could be under a mass confusion on whom to follow at this point."

Damon nodded though knowing Delon couldn't see it. "I remember him from the first day of the peace talks."

"It is possible that they are in a state of flux, but it doesn't answer why they are evacuating. In line with that, from what I've gathered about the Grand Marshall it doesn't seem like it would be a policy for the Coalition to simply pick up and leave the territories they have under their control."

"Is the Union or Alliance taking advantage of the situation?" Damon continued.

"The Alliance has gone on a full military alert as soon as Coalition did. They have strengthened their boarders, but aside from that they seem to be happy with sitting back and waiting for the Coalition to make the first move. And as far as the Union, that is a mystery still."

Damon thought to himself of all the situations where he himself might pull back and evacuate without provocation. It sounded more like a tactical retreat, but from what? Damon had an idea.

"Delon, given what your department has gathered in the last few hours, give me your best guess as to what is going on." He hoped the bad feeling wheling up in his gut was unfounded.

"Based on the information that we have received up to this point I would say that Galin Hurs isn't willing to submit to the will of the Coalition Council. He is now acting without their approval. It would seem that he has recalled the troops back to positions in which he has strong support from the population. The retreating troops also seem to be gathering any resource that they come across on their way back. Without the military support the Coalition Council will be powerless to do anything. A Martial Law, Major." Delon responded.

"Either that or without Galin Hurs the council is free to do as they wish. Neither sounds good as far as im concerned." Damon thought about it for a moment. "I want you to get your team together and corroborate the evidence. I need to know what's going on over there. I have a bad feeling about all of this." He admitted.

"Galin Hurs doesn't strike me as a guy that would go down without a fight." Delon said as he felt the same way the Major did. This new development wasn't looking too good in their current situation. "I will get a team working on it right away, Major. I will keep you updated on any new developments."

"Thank you Delon." Damon responded. He then tapped his comm badge and closed the link.

He didn't like what he was hearing and he didn't like the idea of pulling assets off finding Samantha. Despite how narrow minded his focus was at the moment, he had to admit that this sounded like it needed attention. He only hoped that it turned out to be nothing.
