The woman paused for a moment. "I don't know. All I know is someone named Sam wanted me to come here and tell Damon... she needs help."
[NEW]
Trent blinked a few times and looked to one of the Starfleet officers to call this information in.
Nava looked at the small woman "Well we know she's alive at least for now."
"So, is there a Damon around here I can talk to, or was this some sort of joke?" the woman asked. She was starting to wonder about the whole situation, as no one seemed all that concerned about some woman being held prisoner by mercenaries.
She waited for a reply, but when none came, she addressed Trent. "Next time you want to play games, count me out." She turned and headed for the door.
Trent was somewhat embarrased that no one thought to ask the newcommer any questions about whatr she knew. After a second he trotted up next to her .
"Sorry about that, it's been a long day for all of us. At this point a lead could hit us all in the face and we wouldn't even know it." He gave her a smile. "Umm, can I ask how you came about this information?"
She eyed him suspiciously "I told you. She told me to come here and speak to someone named Damon. Now, is that person here or not?"
"He is back on our ship right now, but I can call and ask him to beam down." He pulled out a small PADD from one of his many pockets.
"Where did you see her?" He quickly followed up the question "Forgive me, but I'm just trying to determine if this is a credible lead or not." He didn't want to waste the Major's time or get his hopes up if it turned out to be nothing.
"I didn't see her. I heard her." She gave an exasperated sigh. "Never mind. I'm sorry I wasted my time." She again turned to leave.
"Whoa whoa whoa." He stammered as he cut her off. "You heard her? Did she speak to you dirrectly or was it through telepethy?"
The woman sighed in frustration. "If I didn't see her of course it was telepathic. Now, get out of my way, I'm going home." She pushed past Trent and again headed for the door.
"One more thing Miss." He said excitedly as he rushed over to a table where a map was laid out. He pulled it away from the men and women looking at it eliciting a unified protest from all of them and trotted back to the door. "Can you point to where you were when you 'heard' her?"
"I can, but I won't. I don't like your games. I don't like being treated like a fool."
"I'm not trating you like a fool at all miss. I seem to be the only one here who is taking you seriously at all. What did you want me to do?"
"I want to see this Damon and be assured that this isn't some kind of sick joke."
Nava touched her comm badge =^=Major Raine, there is someone who may have information on the Captain.=^=
Damon quickly responded from his office. =^=Raine here. Go ahead.=^=
=^=Major, there is a woman here that says she has 'heard' from the Captain telepathically. She insists on seeing that you are real.=^=
Just then a man and woman walked into the room looking hesitant. "Is there someone here named Damon?"
Trent looked at the two individuals and spoke loudly enough for Nava's com link to pick it up. "Major, this information is starting to look pretty credible." He then turned to face the man. "Hi, my name is Trent. Damon will be down shortly. Is this to do with a message you heard?
The two looked at him, then at the other woman. "I'm Lena," she said to the other two.
"Torvil. This is my sister, Jayla." The three of them turned as one to look at Trent, waiting for him to say something.
Trent nodded and smiled at the people. "If you have information for us, the person you will want to talk to is on his way."
Damon materialised a few moments later on the planet surface and walked over to where a number of people had gathered.
Trent quickly filled in the Major as he walked about the individuals standing before him.
"Hello, I'm Damon. There is apparently some information about Samantha?" He announced hopefully as he closed in on the group.
The three watched Damon for a moment before Lena spoke. "A woman named Sam asked us to come here and tell you she's being held prisoner by mercenaries. That she needs your help."
Damon nodded "Was there any additional information?" The mesage itself was little to go on, there were dozens of mercenary groups on the planet and narrowing them down would take too much time.
They looked at each other, then at Damon. "No. The message came in a quick burst. I tried to ask for information, but there was nothing there. It was as if she was there and gone," the woman said.
Damon's heart skipped a beat having suddenly assumed the worst possible reason for an abrupt stop. It took him a moment to calm his nerves down and consider other possible reasons, none of which made sense currently.
"Is it possible you can show me where you were when you heard her?" He asked as he took the map and a marker from Trent's hands.
Lena went first, pointing out where she lived. Then Torvil and Jayla. Over the next half hour, four other people came in with the same message.
The map was starting to paint a pretty interesting picture, however, it was still a bit vague. After determining effective range for a telepathic thought to travel, it still left a number of potential locations given the number of mercenary bases in the small area.
Damon, however, allowed a small smile to start creeping across his face. An idea started to form in his head about how they might find her with this new information.
The Marine looked up from the map "Thank you all, sincerely, for coming to me with this information." He pointed down to the map on the table. "What I have here may be enough to find Samantha."
He then turned and opened his comm link to the Calypso. =^=All senior staff report to the ready room immediately.=^=
