"Is it true...?"

Morgan recognized that voice. She looked up from the PADD slowly at the door and noticed James standing I her door way. He was actually more leaning over trying to catch his breath. He looked red in the face. She figured that for whatever strange reason he just ran to her office. She placed the PADD down on the desk.

"Is what true...?" She asked. She had a good idea of what he was asking but she needed to be sure. This was James after all; he could be talking about million of different things.

"Is it true that Commander York has been kidnapped?" James asked after finally catching his breath. He stepped inside the office and took a seat in an empty chair.

Morgan nodded. "Yes, that is true. She was taken from the conference chamber not long ago."

"So, what are we doing to get her back? Shouldn't we be out there looking for her instead of sitting here discussing it?" James said. He was fired up about this. Yes, he held a bit of a special place for the Commander, but he would have been like this for any crew member.

"We are doing everything we can right now." Morgan responded. "Chief Gates is configuring the sensor array so we can scan the hard to reach places and Ensign Miyazaki has been monitoring frequencies."

Before either James or Morgan could say anymore, Sakura walked up to the open door. She noticed James and Morgan in the office. Morgan flashed Sakura a smile and Sakura returned it.

"Speak of the devil..." Morgan said as she motioned towards the other empty chair in her office. "We were just talking about you and what you were doing to help find Commander York."

"Oh really...?" Sakura asked with a curious tone in her voice as she made her way for the empty chair and took a seat in it. She crossed her right leg over her left as she leaned back in the chair.

"Yes, it seems that our friend James here seems to think that we are just sitting back and doing nothing to help find Commander York." Morgan said with a playful tone in her voice.

"That's not what I said!" James protested.

"I know James." Morgan said with a wink then turned her attention over to Sakura. "So, what do you have for me? I hope its good news. I can really use some good news right now."

"Well, it's a little bit of both." Sakura began. She leaned forward sliding the PADD across the desk to Morgan then leaned back in the chair. "I have been able to find out how the Coalition is talking to each other without us being able to detect it."

"That's good." Morgan said as she began examining the PADD.

"That's the good news. The bad news is that they are using some type of encoder that we have never seen before. All of their transmissions are coded at the highest level. It will take some time for us to be able to crack their code." Sakura explained.

"How long are we looking at here?"

Sakura sighed. "Well, a few months at minimum."

Morgan looked up from the PADD at Sakura. She wasn't joking. The serious look on her face told her everything she needed to know. "Well, that's not going to work."

Sakura shook her head. "No, it's not. But that's the best we can do right now."

"Well, that's not enough." Morgan said placing the PADD down on the desk and leaning back. She was happy for the first part of the news but the bad news was really bad.

"I know...but we can only work as fast as the computer will allow us to work. It would be nice if we could get someone that knows the code to give it to us." Sakura added.

Morgan looked at Sakura. She wondered just what exactly was Sakura suggesting. Either way, it was out of the question they would have to find some other way to crack the code and do it fast. She was hoping that Gates was having a lot more lock with the sensor array than Sakura was with communications.

"Why don't we just ask them...?" James asked.

Morgan looked at James. "I doubt that they would be willing to give it to us. I'm sure they don't even want us to know about these transmissions. They would probably deny them. Either way, even if we were able to hear what they are talking about it doesn't mean that it would help us get Commander York back."

"That's true..." Sakura said with a sigh.

"Anyways, James I want you to go help Gates with the sensor array. We need to get this done quickly so we can begin scanning the planet. Sakura, you keep doing what you are doing and keep me updated."

Both James and Sakura nodded and left the office after they were dismissed. Morgan sighed and returned to her own work. That was all they could do for the time being.
