Morgan leaned back in her chair letting out a soft sigh. She held a cup of coffee in both of her hands in front of her face watching as the steam from the coffee vanished right in front of her eyes. She smiled enjoying the smell that the office had and also the affect that it had. She closed her eyes and sighed once again. This was probably going to be the only break that she was going to have today. There was a lot to do.

She opened her eyes and looked at the stack of PADDs that have gathered on her desk. She shook her head, the great majority of them were addressed on the Lieutenant Tovan but since he was on the planet having a fine time she was stuck doing it. She wanted the promotion; she wanted more responsibility well now she had it. There were moments when she wished she was still an Ensign.

She took another sip of her steaming coffee and picked up her first PADD. It wasn't particularly too interesting. She quickly scanned through it and pressed her thumb print on it and passed it onto the stack of PADDs that were done. This process continued on for another 40 minutes. She didn't understand why they had to have reports on some of these things. She set a reminder for herself to discuss that with Tovan when he got back.

The coffee that was once warm and steaming had cooled down on so when she went to take a sip her lips were met by the cold liquid. She pulled it away quickly and looked into the cup. She had got so caught up with the reports that she forgot to finish her coffee. She pushed the mug to one side of her desk and started on the second pile of PADDs. This one was very much like the other one. They were silly report about silly things that no one would ever look at but it was procedure to do them.

If they had spent as much time working on the ships systems as they did writing and reading reports they would be able to have so much more done. It was almost counterproductive. But once again she reminded herself that this was the Starfleet procedure. Just like those before her, she had to be put through this torture.

The second stack took a bit more time than the first one. These reports were a little bit more in depth and not so easy to scan through as the other ones were. So when her stomach growled alerting her that she was hungry she put the PADD down and looked up to see the time. It was already close to 1200. She hadn't realized how late in the day it was getting.

She looked to the stacks still left to do and there was no way she would be able to finish it today. After the stack she was working on there were still another two stacks that had to be taken care. She started to wonder if she can assign someone to do these for her. That would make things so much easier, but she shook her head knowing all too well that it would be impossible to do just that.

She was hungry but she had to get at least this stack done before she could go get something to eat. So one by one the stack start to disappear finally there was only one. She picked up the PADD and looked at it. It was a Medical Report on Samantha Gates. She hoped it was better news than it had been the few previous days. She took a deep breath and opened it.

As she began to read the report a smile appeared on her face. Samantha had been released from sickbay and if everything went okay with her checkup she would be able to go back to work. This was indeed very good news, they had missed her a great deal. Morgan smiled as she put the PADD down and looked up at the ceiling. She was happy now. It was a good way to stop working for the moment and go grab some food.

She got up from her seat and headed out the door into the corridor.
