Sheridan was standing in the center of the bridge, it was fully manned and his bridge crew was ready to go for there first Power up of the ship. He had been given the Green light by the Re-Fit team to see if there were any glitches in the main system.
"Ready for IDF generators Sir, core stable and Impulse Engines are ready at 98%."
"Very good ensign go for generator start, main computer systems on. Run full diagnostics on all powered systems, Have damage control teams standing by."
John was expecting a symphony of warning alarms to sound, but none came.... Sheridan walked over to the screen to look at the updates scrolling across.
"All systems fully powered up sir, We are showing a partial failure on an array system but that program re-booted and fixed itself."
"Very good, after every issue lets run another complete Scan of the system, I would also need all contractor programs removed from our system, that will take a while but stay on it."
"Aye, Aye Sir."
John stepped forward to the Helm Officer, "You are clear to configure your helm controls as needed Ensign, your in Station mode, and ship movement will not occur as the computer will override you on the hard controls."
The helm officer began feeding data into the voice controlled system which was new on the Orion.
Grabbing a fresh cup of coffee John turned to address the Assembled bridge crew.
"OK, listen up, we will remain under our own power from here on out and continue to monitor all systems, This bridge is now manned and watches shall begin as of right now... remember this is a secure area at all times. All contractors with be escorted if they need to be in here, The Captain will be making a inspection and start the ships log at any time, so be prepared. If there's any problems I expect to be notified immediately. Good job."
