"I believe that was a compliment." Tovan smiled turning his head around to where he could look at her face. "Thank you..." He brought his glass to his lips and took another sip. She was flirting with him that much was obvious. But was this part of her plan or did she just want to get to know him he wondered.

"You're very welcome." Lumiya said as she did the same. She brought her glass to her lips and sipped at it the whole time her eyes never left his. She found the man attractive. She was finding it harder and harder to deny it. No one ever said that you couldn't have some fun while working.

"Excuse me madam, the dinner is served." There was a man at the door dressed in all black. He looked like a butler.

"Thank you." Lumiya responded then looked to Tovan. "Shall we eat?"

Tovan nodded. "Yes, we shall."

[Start of the New Post - "Dining at Onasi Palace, Part III"]

The first course of the dinner was served in bowls. It looked very much like clam chowder that you would find on Earth. In truth it tasted very much like it too. Expect it was a lot spicier than any other clam chowder he had ever before. Lumiya explained to him that the fish used in the chowder was spicy that spicy by nature and that the older the fish was the spicier it became.

She went on to add that it had become a traditional dish among her people. During the years of the conflict people had a very few resources. Food supplies had been almost depleted so people began to search for a food supply. One of the things they found was this fish. People had found that it was very cheap to make and thus everyone started to make it. So over the years it grew into one of the traditional dishes.

After they had finished their chowder the next course was served. Tovan found himself with a plate of food in front of him, on one side of the plate was three different kinds of meat cut into strips. On the plate there were also a few different kinds of vegetables that were grown only on this plate and there was also something that looked like pasta covered in a creamy sauce. This dish was also very good.

The two of them had finished the first two courses of the dinner while having a bit of conversation during dinner. It wasn't about anything in particular. Never once did they mention anything about the situation on the plate or the reason for why Starfleet was there. Both of them seemed to avoid the conversation about work and talked about other things in life they enjoyed.

The last and final course was desert. The butler had come into the room carrying on one plate. He placed it in the middle of the table and brought two forks with him. On the plate was something that looked like bread and it was covered with some type of sauce. Lumiya explained to Tovan that this dish wasn't one that came from her planet but from Earth. It was vanilla bread pudding.

Tovan had found this to be very delicious as well. That seemed to be the theme for the dinner. Everything that was prepared and served seemed to be done to perfection. After neither of them could eat anymore the same butler showed up and cleared the table and left two glasses with a bottle of wine.

"That was extremely good; give my compliments to your chef." Tovan said before taking the glass of wine that was the closest to him and taking a sip of the wine. At this point he was very full and pleased that he actually decided to come to the dinner.

Lumiya laughed lightly as she grabbed her own glass and sipped the wine. After taking a sip she placed the glass back on the table and smiled at him. "She appreciates your compliments very much so."

Tovan looked at her puzzled for a moment than smiled. "You cooked all of this?"

Lumiya nodded gently. "Yes, I did. It's a hobby of mine. Every since I was a little girl I liked to cook. My mother use to be a chef so everything I know I learned from her." She smiled at him and stood up. "Come; let's have a seat by the fire." She extended her hand out to him.

Tovan was very surprised to find out that she was the one that cooked the meal. He had figured that people in her position had people cook for them. But that was a stereotype. She proved him wrong. He took his glass in one hand and stood up gently taking her hand in his.

She smiled at him as their hands touched and gave him a gentle squeeze. She led them over to where the sofa was. She placed the glass of wine on the side table and sat down gently patting the sofa next to her inviting him to have a seat next to her.

Tovan placed his own glass down next to hers. He took a seat on the sofa and leaned back looking at the fire. It had been a while since he had seen a real fire place. Most of the time it was on the holodeck. Space was a wonderful thing he thought but it did take you away from many joys of home.

His spell from the fire was broken when he felt Lumiya reposition herself in the sofa. She moved in closer to him. The bare skin of her leg was resting along his leg. She put her head on his shoulder and an arm gently around his waist. Once again she had managed to surprise him. He didn't protest to her actions. She seemed like a very friendly person. He rested his head on hers and looked to the fire.
