"Come on girl, you can do this." April said to herself as she turned her attention back to the targeting computer.

Ghost had run down the stairs and was heading down the long corridor to catch up to Gene who had at least 200 feet on him. Ghost opened fire at Gene but that didn't seem to stop him at all. He just kept on running. Ghost threw his weapon to the side and picked up his pace now that he was lighter.

And now Winter Fortress, Part VII

April had continued to work on deactivating the missile from being launched as Ghost was catching up to Gene. Gene had taken a turn and headed down the stairs. This would lead them down to the bottom level where they would be by the robot. Gene managed to get on the ground but Ghost launched himself from the stair and landed on Gene.

Both of them let out painful grunts as they hit the ground, but soon enough they both had rolled away from each other and were up on their feet. Ghost noticed that his gun had flown off him and was now about 20 feet away from them. Gene smiled at him and put his fists up. Ghost did the same and they started to dance around each other.

Ghost was the first one to make an approach. He swung at Gene with his fist but Gene was rather quick dodging it and he attempted to counter attack but Ghost dodged this time. After a few more blown punches and dodges, each of them connected in a fury of punches. They hit face, chest, side, stomach, and even exchanged a couple of kicks.

Gene brought his fist up and made contact with Ghosts nose. He flew back as blood started to make its way out of his nose. Ghost brought his hand up whipping it away and then launched himself at Gene. He connected with his gut, and an elbow connected with the face. That was followed by a couple of more elbows to the face.

While they were engaged in hand to hand combat. April had managed to change the targeting lock. She wasn't able to stop the weapon completely but she had changed the target to middle of nowhere in the ocean. The missile didn't need much time to get ready.

The dock doors at the top of the hanger started to open and the robot moved its weapon into position. Each man had stopped for a second to see what was going on before they returned to their fight on the ground. Ghost didn't have time for this, so he unleashed a fury of punches at Gene. Gene eventually fell to the ground and close to the gun.

Gene turned around pointing the gun at Ghost. "Looks like I've won this round." Gene said with a cocky smirk on his face as he got up off the ground the weapon still pointed at Ghost.

Ghost didn't say anything, but what happened next neither of them saw coming. The heat from the weapon came out from the back and it came shooting down right where Gene was standing. It vaporized him in matter of seconds.
"But I won the war." Ghost said with a smirk and turned around heading up the stairs to the control room. He started to run until he reached it. Just as he reached the door the missile fired.

"What happened?" Ghost asked.

April turned out looking at him with a smile on her face. "I couldn't stop the missile so I pointed it to another target. It's going to blow up in the middle of the ocean."

Ghost let out a sigh of relief and leaned on the wall. "That's good news."

"I've even contacted the Colonel letting him know of our success, they are sending a chopper out to pick us up from a carrier not far from here." April explained as she approached Ghost. "But we have to get out of here first."

"Yeah...let's go." Ghost said. The two of them took off from the control room. There was a tunnel not far from there that lead out to the outside. So they went for the tunnel. There was a jeep parked not far from it. They took the jeep and headed down the tunnel. The base was in chaos now so they didn't face any resistance at all.

They continued to drive until they saw the light and then they reached it. April stopped the jeep and got out. They were greeted by the dawn light. Ghost got out of the other side and walked over to April smiling.

And without even saying a word he leaned in and kissed her on the lips. April smiled returning the kiss with the same passion as he kissed her, but her hand moved up and she ejected him with something. Ghost didn't have time to react; she stepped back and watched him fall to the ground.

"I'm sorry, but I can't allow you or Washington to have the GUNDAM." She said as she watched him fall. When he was on the ground she leaned down kissing him on the lips. "Don't worry; you will wake up soon enough." She took another moment to look at him than walked away.

When Ghost woke up he was surrounded by a group of solider and the Colonel was kneeling down by him. "Are you alright, Ghost?" Colonel asked.

Ghost nodded as he slowly rose up in a sitting position. He looked around him and didn't see April anywhere. What did she do to him this time? "Where is April...?" Ghost asked.

"I was hoping you'd be able to tell me." Colonel responded as he stood up and offered his hand to Ghost. Ghost accepted it and he got up. "When we arrived we found you here, and GUNDAM missing."

Ghost looked at him. "So, we are going after her than?"

Colonel nodded.

Ghost nodded and turned back to the base. There were a lot of people running around. Ghost sighed lightly. "Who exactly are you...?" He said to himself before turning around. "Next time, you won't get away so easily." He nodded to himself and then took off for the chopper at which the Colonel was already waiting for him. Once he was inside, the chopper lifted off ground and flew over the base before returning to the carrier.
